Passage 1
(2024·天津河西·三模)Only positive thinking is not enough to attain our goals. Our 1 act as beacons (灯塔) that tell us where we want to go, but we need some “negative” thinking to light up that 2 and to expose the obstacles we will face along the way.
In the 2008 summer Olympics, Michael Phelps was ready to 3 his own record for the 200-meter butterfly swimming race. After Phelps’s first turn, his goggles (游泳镜) 4 water and he couldn’t see. To stop and 5 his goggles would mean disqualification. 6 without his sight, how was he supposed to know exactly when to turn? This misfortune could cost Phelps 7 seconds each lap (圈). So, what did he do? Had he done anything to 8 him for this moment? Yes. Phelps had been practicing something he 9 for himself: negative visioning. During his training. Phelps had already imagined in 10 how he would respond in this moment of crisis. He already knew 11 how many strokes (划水) he would take before he reached the next wall. So, though unable to see, he 12 his strokes and made quick turns. And at last he won the gold medal.
In psychology, the 13 of balancing learned optimism with practical realism — or acting against the 14 thought with the “negative” one —is called “mental contrasting”. It 15 us to lower our strong expectations about a(n) 16 outcome. So we can make wiser 17 and maintain motivation while working toward our goals.
Mental contrasting can make sure we consider realistic obstacles when 18 our plan for the future. In this way, the obstacles in our way 19 us to think more critically and 20 become the means by which we achieve our goals in the first place.

Passage 2
(2022·天津滨海新·一模)For Mao Zhongwu, who was paralyzed (瘫痪) from the waist down in an accidental fall 16 years ago, sports have opened up a new world. The 37-year-old cross-country “sit-skier” collected one gold and two silver medals at the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games — in men’s middle-distance, men’s sprint (短距离) and men’s long distance, respectively. “It was sports that made me come out of the lowest point in my life and changed me physically, mentally and spiritually,” Mao said.
Born and raised in Dalian, Liaoning province, Mao has been fond of sports since childhood. The accident changed everything. Paralysis ended his functional independence. He had to live under his mother’s care. For a long time, he felt ashamed and was unwilling to go out. In 2017, persuaded by his mother, he started to learn table tennis. Ten days later, he took part in a citywide competition and performed well.
Fan Yi, a coach from the sports department of Dalian’s service center for the disabled, picked Mao and brought him to the wheelchair racing team. Fan recalled that in the beginning Mao didn’t dare to talk with other people. But he gradually became cheerful and confident in training. Three years ago, Mao shifted to train for cross-country skiing. “As an older athlete, he recovers slowly. He persevered through willpower,” Fan said.
Mao said that when he decided to be a professional athlete, he told himself there was no turning back. “I have experienced the bitterness of life, and I know this is a rare opportunity that I must seize,” he said. Everyone’s body has its limits. When he was suffering through the period of tiredness caused by overtraining, he thought he was too old to compete in the Olympics. “But I never gave up. With the support of my team, I stepped toward my goals one by one,” he said. “Although I’m not young now, I will keep training and eye on more gold medals as long as I can.”

Passage 1
To: All Staff
From: Jackie Mock, Secretary; Sports Development Committee
A week ago, “Sports for Life” programmer was sent to the parents, requiring them to select a sport they wanted their child to play. Since then, our staff have received lots of calls from parents asking for more information about it. Here is a memo (备忘录) for your reference when you answer the phones.
Sports 1: Basketball
We expect that this will be the most popular of the four sports. Therefore, students should be advised to sign up as soon as possible. Students will take a private bus to and from Kwan Tong Sports Park. To cover the cost of hiring a bus, each student will have to pay $ 10 each time. There will be four basketball courts available for our use with one teacher watching over each game.
Sports 2: Gym
We will be using St. Peter’s Memorial Park. There are two reasons for choosing this park. First, it is not very busy and crowded before 6:00 pm. Second, it has lot of trees with plenty of shade. Students must bring along two bottles of water to prevent thirst. Three activities, skipping, jogging, outdoor aerobics (有氧运动), all of which are free of charge, will be arranged. And there will be a teacher on duty for each of the activities.
Sports 3: Hiking
Hiking will take place at Kowloon Peak. The activity will start at 2:30 pm and finish 90 minutes later. Three teachers will accompany the students, and a hiking instructor will accompany each group of 15 hikers. Each instructor will cost $75/hr, Students are advised to bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
Sports 4: Swimming
The Kowloon City Aquatic Centre is a 10-minute walk from our school. Four teachers will go to the pool and conduct the goings-on from the poolside. We will only be able to reserve the pool for one hour (2:45pm to 3:45pm). Only students skillful at swimming can take up this activity. The pool will have two lifeguards. Girls must wear a swimming suit. The cost is $ 10 per visit.

Passage 2
(2024·天津和平·一模)These days, are you spending more time feeling guilty about not working out than working out? If so, you’re probably the kind of lapsed boomer. You’ve joined the 4-in-10 adult Americans of all ages who admit they’re not physically active at all, according to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
Exercise experts like Richard Cotton and Cedric Bryant have heard it all before — busy boomers complaining that, between car pools and van pools and making ends meet, they hardly have time for a movie, much less regular exercise. Here are some of their best tips.
Prepare.
Plan your workout wardrobe so you’ll be comfortable. Consider the weather you will be walking in and decide: long pants, long sleeve, shorts, hat?
Don’t skimp (克扣) on shoes.
Which type? “If you are walking with the hope of jogging finally, buy running shoes,” says Cotton. If you plan to walk as your main exercise, get walking shoes.
Start slowly.
“Do much less than you think you are able to,” Cotton suggests. Take a 10-minute walk if you’re newly back to workouts. It’s not enough, “but it’s a start.” Consider walking as a good way to get back to exercise.
Do the talk test.
If you can’t talk without difficulty as you walk or jog, you’re going too fast and trying to do too much, Bryant says.
Consider getting an exercise buddy (同伴).
That could help increase your faithfulness to your new habit. “An exercise partner is always nice”, Cotton says, “especially if you can get someone who already has the habit. That’s a free ride.”
Be realistic about the payoff.
You might notice looser waistbands but no difference on the scale. “As you get up into 35-, 40- or 45-minute walks, you can expect weight loss,” Cotton says. “But even if you do not lose a pound, you are healthier if you exercise.” And quite possibly, that might put you higher up on Bush’s invite list, should he host another run.
1.The “lapsed boomer” mentioned in paragraph 1 refers to people who ______.
A.are professional sports experts
B.work hard and hate taking exercise
C.try to get inactive people back into sports programs
D.are physically inactive and have no time for regular exercise
2.According to the passage, when you take exercise, you’d better not ______.
A.wear comfortable clothing B.be realistic about weight loss
C.find an exercise partner D.do more than you think you are able to start
3.What can be inferred from the part of “talk test”?
A.Talking is not allowed while you are taking exercise.
B.You may feel better if talking with someone while running.
C.It is used to test the intensity of your running.
D.The more you talk, the longer you will run.
4.What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A.Being different on the scale is more difficult than losing weight.
B.You can’t expect weight loss unless you walk 45 minutes a day.
C.Exercise can bring you at least health more than weight loss.
D.You can be invited to a running race unless you lose weight.
5.What is the purpose of the author in writing this passage?
A.To illustrate how to do sports.
B.To warn people not to work too hard.
C.To advocate people to bring fitness back in life.
D.To give people advice on how to lose weight.
Passage 3
If you’re a runner who secretly hates running, here’s some good news: settling into a leisurely jog rather than an all-out run may actually be better for your health in the long term.
A team from Denmark followed over 5, 000 people taking part in the Copenhagen City Heart Study, and tracked whether they were non-joggers, or joggers who kept a slow, moderate (中等的), or fast pace. The participants’ health was tracked over the next 12 years, and so was their mortality (死亡率): 28 of the joggers and 128 of the non-joggers died.
The connection was this: Joggers of mild and moderate intensity had a lower risk of death than the fast joggers. In fact, the lowest mortality risk was that of the mild intensity joggers. The fast-paced joggers had about the same mortality rate as sedentary (久坐的) people. This suggests that there may be an upper limit to hard exercise, after which the benefits fall off.
“The U-shaped association between jogging and mortality suggests there may be an upper limit for exercise amount that is best for health benefits,” said study author Peter Schnohr. “Anything more is not just unnecessary; it may be harmful.” From the current study, jogging just three times per week, for less than 2.5 hours per week was associated with the lowest overall mortality risk.
There have been a lot of mixed messages about the “right” amount of exercise and what intensity is best. The World Health Organization has suggested that the current 150 minutes per week recommendations are strenuous for most people to tackle, and that expectations should be lowered, since, after all, anything is better than nothing. Everyone probably has a level of activity that feels best to him or her. But at least the growing consensus seems to be that more — if you’re pushing yourself very hard— is not necessarily better. And it may even be worse.
1.What was the study designed to find out?
A.The relation between exercise amount and health.
B.The difference between non-joggers and joggers.
C.The advantages of jogging over running.
D.The common causes of death from exercise.
2.Who will face the highest mortality risk according to the study?
A.Those jogging just three times per week. B.Those jogging 150 minutes per week.
C.Those fast-paced joggers. D.Those slow-paced joggers.
3.What might Peter Schnohr agree with?
A.The early bird catches the worm. B.Wealth is nothing without health.
C.To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short. D.Enough exercise brings about happiness.
4.What does the underlined word “strenuous” in the last paragraph mean?
A.Intense. B.Wide-ranging.
C.Necessary. D.Far-reaching.
5.What would be the best title for the text?
A.Why Jogging May Be Better For Your Health Than Running?
B.Can Jogging Increase Your Weight?
C.How Does Jogging Affect Your Health?
D.How Often Should Beginners Run?
Passage 1
In every gym class I've taken, I felt like the odd one out. Opening the door, I hesitantly asked, “Is this where the HIIT class is?” The instructor yelled, “Grab a dumbbell and yoga mat. We're late for warm-up!” Breathing heavily on the mat, I wasn't sure if I'd make it through the hour.
Glancing around the room, I seemed to be the only one struggling. Everyone else, in their tightly fitted gym wear and not a sign of sweat to be seen, looked as if they belonged. I, on the other hand, with my messy hair and oversized clothes, wondered why I had ever bothered coming.
Earlier that year, I had decided to give fitness a real shot. All my life, exercise had been a foreign concept and in school, gym class was a place of guaranteed embarrassment and humiliation.
I nervously showed up to my university gym for spin class (动感单车课程) on a Sunday morning. I had considered canceling multiple times, but I told myself that showing up was all that mattered.
The instructor was incredibly kind. Within minutes of seeing my weak form, he knew I was new to the class. He walked us through all the various positions on the bike multiple times.
The first time I tried to stand on the bike pedals, I felt my legs shake and immediately sat down. But with each class, my comfort on the bike grew and I became less focused on how I looked and more focused on looking inward. Whether I needed to think about something bugging me, dream about the future or just mindlessly pedal, spin class became my hour a week just for me.
The more I spun, the more I realized how powerful my body was. For what felt like the first time, I was proud of my body's capabilities.
After nine months of spinning, I wanted to challenge myself again. And that's how I found myself in the high-intensity class. If spin class got me used to moving my body, then HIIT class taught me that I have to continuously work to build my fitness and tackle my insecurities.
In all, what truly matters is showing up, not what you wear or your fitness abilities. Because once you show up, the rest gets easier, one sweaty adventure at a time.
1.Why did the author feel like the odd one out in the gym class?(no more than 10 words)
2.What does the underlined part mean in paragraph 3?(no more than 10 words)
3.What did the author realize about her body after attending spin class for nine months?(no more than 6 words)
4.Why did the author decide to challenge herself by attending a high-intensity class? (no more than 12 words)
5.What message does the author convey in the text? How does it inspire you?(no more than 25 words)
Passage 2

In Grade 7, my physical education teacher watched me, eyebrow 3 , as I tried my best to follow the gymnastic training. “You’re doing pretty well in my class,” he said, “for someone with no 4 for sports at all.”
In high school, I wasn’t 5 for a single team. I was bookish and slow, and that 6 of being better suited to quiet reading and leisurely walks 7 with me for a long time.
I discovered jogging in my late 20s, and I enjoyed the feeling of quiet accomplishment—without the fear of 8 teammates. I tried yoga and always prioritized 9 pursuits over physical ones.
It was, 10 , my gradually worsening mental condition that finally forced me to rethink about exercising. This winter, under pandemic, I found myself 11 under the weight of exhaustion. I knew 2 had to change. I needed an outlet to release the 13 of months of online conferencing and on-and-off solo parenting at home. Jogging in the morning wasn’t enough to 14 it.
I 15 an exercise bike and hoped to have positive results. Since early March, I’ve hardly 16 a day on my bike. I’m not the fastest, but I stick to it. I’m finally learning that movement isn’t 17 about athleticism More than anything, it’s the feeling of accomplishment when you insist on something 18 outside of your comfort zone.
Athletes find glory in sports. For the rest of us, the 19 is more personal: better sleep, improved mood and boosted confidence. It was never about talent. That’s what I wish my physical education teacher had told me. If only he’d said, “You’re doing really well in my class. Look at your 20 .”

Passage 2
(2023·天津南开·一模)Even though people have been paralyzed (瘫痪的) playing sports like rugby and football, extreme sports take the whole ordeal (磨难) to the next level. Sports like downhill cycling are very dangerous because one would be going downhill, over rocky or dirt zone, through forests, even at potentially deadly speeds. A slip up could be your downfall.
Nobody who gets into extreme sports goes with the desire to do harm to themselves. With that, athletes train for years and years before they attempt anything extreme. To most people, extreme sports are extreme simply because they take more skill than what an average person has. An athlete with skill and training makes an extreme thing become a daily routine, which does not wipe out the danger, but greatly reduces it.
Even when there is a lot of skill involved, things might not go the athlete’s way, not at all. Luck and circumstances have a lot to do with how things develop, whether above 8,000 meters or in a wood, going downhill. In some places, crossing the street is an extreme sport, considering how wild traffic can get.
Some view parkour, the sports of running, jumping and climbing under, around and through buildings, as an extreme sport, while it is more of a life philosophy, where the athlete does not have to do anything remotely dangerous. Free soloing, which means climbing a rock or ice face without safety gear, is absolutely deadly, where one slip means almost certain death, depending on the height, of course. Skateboarding is relatively safe, but if you constantly find ridiculous places to practice on, like the fence of a bridge, then things can get very complicated. The extreme part depends on the athlete.
To summarize, yes, extreme sports are dangerous, but the danger depends on the athlete, their choice of sport, direction in which they take it, as well as the circumstances. Some things are out of our control, while others we can influence through exercise and healthier risk choices.
1.Why is downhill cycling mentioned in Paragraph 1?
A.To call for attention to extreme sports. B.To introduce the origin of extreme sports.
C.To illustrate the danger of extreme sports. D.To show the complexity of the extreme sports.
2.What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about regarding extreme sports?
A.Extreme sports differ from one another.
B.Skill matters a lot in maintaining safety.
C.Athlete’s luck is a key factor that influences safety.
D.Extreme sports are more dangerous than regular sports.
3.In Paragraph 4, several extreme sports are listed to ________.
A.explain danger depends on the athlete B.show free soloing is the most dangerous
C.compare which one involves the most skill D.demonstrate how to choose an extreme sport
4.Which would best describe the author’s attitude towards the danger of extreme sports?
A.Doubtful. B.Objective. C.Intolerant. D.Uninterested.
5.Which of the following is the best title of the text?
A.Do Extreme Sports Test Your Courage?
B.Why Should Extreme Sports Be Banned?
C.Why Do We Love Extreme Sports So Much?
D.Are Extreme Sports Really That Dangerous?

Gold rush delivers a perfect finish
As Chinese athletes delivered a series of stunning performances at the Paris Olympics this past weekend, resulting in a record haul of medals, three key words and phrases — dominance, breakthroughs and a perfect finish — prevailed in conversations across social media platforms.
On Sunday evening at South Paris Arena, Li Wenwen won the women's+ 81 — kilogram weightlifting event, securing the fifth gold for the Chinese weightlifting team at this Olympics. Her victory earned China its 40th gold at the Paris Games, nicely capping the delegation's medal quest.
Saturday evening saw the perfect finish for China's table tennis and diving "dream teams", which have won all 13 titles up for grabs in the two disciplines.
The table tennis competition wrapped up with China defeating Japan 3-0 in the women's team final, securing its fifth consecutive Olympic championship in the event and also winning China its fifth table tennis title at this edition of the Games.
"We're thrilled to have won today's gold medal. With only three years of preparation since the Tokyo Games, we've made significant progress," said Sun Yingsha, who claimed two gold medals and one silver in Paris.
In the men's 10-meter platform diving final, defending champion Cao Yuan clinched gold, helping China achieve its clean sweep of all eight diving titles at the Games.
This marked Cao's fourth Olympic appearance, earning him a career total of four gold medals, one silver and one bronze from London 2012 to Paris 2024.
Since the Chinese diving team debuted at the Los Angeles Games in 1984, it has consistently won gold medals, but achieved a clean sweep for the first time in Paris.
Also on Saturday, twins Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi clinched gold in the duet event of artistic swimming with a total score of 566.4783, marking China's first Olympic victory in a discipline that demands grace, poise, incredible lung power and flawless acrobatic skills.
Earlier, the sisters also contributed to China's gold medal in the artistic swimming team event.
The boxing events ended on Saturday, with China winning three gold medals and two silver medals in the 13 weight divisions.

Mental contrasting can make sure we consider realistic obstacles when 18 our plan for the future. In this way, the obstacles in our way 19 us to think more critically and 20 become the means by which we achieve our goals in the first place.

Fan Yi, a coach from the sports department of Dalian’s service center for the disabled, picked Mao and brought him to the wheelchair racing team.
根据第一段中“You’ve joined the 4-in-10 adult Americans of all ages who admit they’re not physically active at all (你已经加入了每10个美国成年人中就有4个承认自己根本不运动的行列)”和第二段中“Exercise experts like Richard Cotton and Cedric Bryant have heard it all before — busy boomers complaining that, between car pools and van pools and making ends meet, they hardly have time for a movie, much less regular exercise. (像Richard Cotton和Cedric Bryant这样的运动专家早就听过这种抱怨了——忙碌的婴儿潮一代抱怨说,由于要拼车和搭货车,还要维持生计,他们几乎没有时间看电影,更不用说定期锻炼了)”可知,第一段提到的这一人群指的是那些身体不运动、没有时间定期锻炼的人。故选D项。
2.细节理解题。根据Start slowly中““Do much less than you think you are able to,” Cotton suggests. (“比你认为自己能做的要少做很多,”Cotton建议)”可知,如果进行锻炼的话,最好不要做比你认为自己能开始的更多的事情。故选D项。
3.推理判断题。根据Do the talk test中“If you can’t talk without difficulty as you walk or jog, you’re going too fast and trying to do too much, Bryant says. (Bryant说,如果你在走路或慢跑时说话困难,那就是你跑得太快,试图做得太多了)”可知,在锻炼时无法通过说话测试意味着锻炼强度过大。由此可知,这个测试是用来检测跑步的强度的。故选C项。
4.细节理解题。根据最后一段中“But even if you do not lose a pound, you are healthier if you exercise.
1.A 2.C 3.C 4.A 5.A
根据第二段“A team from Denmark followed over 5, 000 people taking part in the Copenhagen City Heart Study, and tracked whether they were non-joggers, or joggers who kept a slow, moderate (中等的), or fast pace. (来自丹麦的一个研究小组跟踪了5000多名参加哥本哈根城市心脏研究的人,并跟踪了他们是不慢跑的人,还是保持慢速、中速或快速的慢跑者。)”,第三段中“The connection was this: Joggers of mild and moderate intensity had a lower risk of death than the fast joggers. (这种联系是这样的:轻度和中度强度的慢跑者比快速慢跑者的死亡风险更低。)”可知,这项研究的研究对象是慢跑者和不慢跑者,旨在发现运动量与健康的关系,故选A项。
2.细节理解题。根据第三段中“Joggers of mild and moderate intensity had a lower risk of death than the fast joggers. (轻度和中度强度慢跑者的死亡风险低于快速慢跑者。)”可知,面临最高的死亡风险的是快节奏的慢跑者,故选C项。
3.推理判断题。根据第四段中“‘The U-shaped association between jogging and mortality suggests there may be an upper limit for exercise amount that is best for health benefits,’ said study author Peter Schnohr. ‘Anything more is not just unnecessary; it may be harmful.’ From the current study, jogging just three times per week, for less than 2.5 hours per week was associated with the lowest overall mortality risk. (研究作者彼得·施诺尔说:‘慢跑和死亡率之间的u型关系表明,对健康有益的锻炼量可能有一个上限。更多的东西不仅是不必要的;这可能是有害的。’从目前的研究来看,每周慢跑三次,每周不到2.5小时,与最低的整体死亡风险相关。)”可知,根据慢跑和死亡率之间的u型关系,Peter Schnohr认为超量的运动和运动不足都不对,故选C项。
4.词句猜测题。根据最后一段中“The World Health Organization has suggested that the current 150 minutes per week recommendations are strenuous for most people to tackle, and that expectations should be lowered, since, after all, anything is better than nothing. (世界卫生组织表示,目前建议的每周150分钟的锻炼时间对大多数人来说,应付起来是strenuous,应该降低期望值,因为毕竟有总比没有好。)”,根据后句中的“应该降低期望值”可知,每周150分钟的锻炼时间对于大多数人来说不好实现,有点“紧张的;费力的”。A.
通读全文,尤其是第一段“If you’re a runner who secretly hates running, here’s some good news: settling into a leisurely jog rather than an all-out run may actually be better for your health in the long term. (如果你是一个讨厌跑步的跑步者,这里有一些好消息:从长远来看,慢慢地慢跑比全力跑可能对你的健康更好。)”,文章介绍了一个关于慢跑者和不慢跑者,以及慢跑时的运动量大小不同的试验,研究表明,适量的慢跑才是对身体最好的。故A项“Why Jogging May Be Better For Your Health Than Running? (为什么慢跑比跑步更有益于健康?)”适合作文章的标题。故选A项。

1.Because she was struggling more than others./Because she seemed to be the only one struggling.
2.I hadn't been good at/confident in/familiar with doing exercise.
3.That her body was capable./How powerful her body was.
4.Because she wanted to build her fitness and tackle her insecurities.

【答案】1.C 2.B 3.A 4.B 5.D
根据第一段中的“Sports like downhill cycling are very dangerous because one would be going downhill, over rocky or dirt zone, through forests, even at potentially deadly speeds. A slip up could be your downfall.(像高山自行车这样的运动是非常危险的,因为你会下坡,越过岩石或泥土地带,穿过森林,即使以潜在的致命速度。一失足就可能导致你的失败)”可推知,作者第一段提及高山自行车是为了说明极限运动确实有危险性。故选C。
2.主旨大意题。根据第二段中的“To most people, extreme sports are extreme simply because they take more skill than what an average person has. An athlete with skill and training makes an extreme thing become a daily routine. That does not wipe out the danger, but it greatly reduces it.(对大多数人来说,极限运动之所以是极限运动,仅仅是因为它们需要比普通人更多的技巧。一个运动员运用技巧和训练是一个极端的事情被提上日程。这并不能完全消除危险,但可以大大减少危险)”可知,第二段主要讨论了在极限运动中,运动员的技巧在保障自身安全的过程中是非常重要的。故选B。
3.推理判断题。根据第四段“Some view parkour, the sports of running, jumping and climbing under, around and through buildings, as an extreme sport, while it is more of a life philosophy, where the athlete does not have to do anything remotely dangerous. The extreme part depends on the athlete.(一些人把跑酷(跑、跳、爬建筑物下面、周围和穿过建筑物的运动)视为一种极限运动,但它更像是一种生活哲学,运动员不必做任何危险的事情。自由独攀,也就是在没有安全装备的情况下攀爬岩石或冰面,绝对是致命的,一次滑倒几乎就意味着死亡,当然,这取决于高度。滑板相对安全,但如果你经常找一些可笑的地方练习,比如桥的栅栏,那么事情就会变得非常复杂。极限部分取决于运动员)”可推知,在第4段中,列举了几种极限运动来解释危险取决于运动员。故选A。
根据最后一段“To summarize, yes, extreme sports are dangerous, but the danger depends on the athlete, their choice of sport, direction in which they take it, as well as the circumstances. Some things are out of our reach of control, while others we can influence through exercise and healthier risk choices.(总之,是的,极限运动是危险的,但危险取决于运动员,他们对运动的选择,他们采取的方向,以及环境。有些事情是我们无法控制的,而有些事情我们可以通过锻炼和更健康的风险选择来影响)”可推知,作者对极限运动的看法是客观的。故选B。
5.主旨大意题。根据最后一段“To summarize, yes, extreme sports are dangerous, but the danger depends on the athlete, their choice of sport, direction in which they take it, as well as the circumstances. Some things are out of our reach of control, while others we can influence through exercise and healthier risk choices.(总之,是的,极限运动是危险的,但危险取决于运动员,他们对运动的选择,他们采取的方向,以及环境。有些事情是我们无法控制的,而有些事情我们可以通过锻炼和更健康的风险选择来影响)”及前文论述可知,作者认为极限运动的危险和很多因素都有关,不能简单地把极限运动和危险等同起来。由此可知,Are Extreme Sports Really That Dangerous?(极限运动真的那么危险吗?)

In the women's 75kg boxing final at Roland Garros, Li Qian of China secured gold. She had won bronze in this weight class at Rio 2016 and silver at Tokyo 2020.
In men's weightlifting, Liu Huanhua won gold in the 102kg category in his Olympic debut, marking China's first gold in the men's heavyweight division.
In rhythmic gymnastics on Saturday, the Chinese team secured gold in the group all-around final with a total score of 69.80, giving China its first Olympic gold medal in the sport.
