And yes, it’s good to get along well with your teacher because, in general, it’s smart to learn how to get along well with the different types of people you’ll meet throughout your life. In fact, kids who get along well with their teachers not only learn more, but they’re more comfortable with asking questions and getting extra help. The passage is written for ________. A. teachers B. students C. advisers D. parents C From the world’s last seven to a global population of more than 5,000, China spent nearly 40 years bringing back crested ibises (朱鹮) from the edge of extinction. With its typical red crest and face, as well as a long black mouth and snow-white feathers, the crested ibis is known as the “Oriental Gem” in China. They were once widespread in East Asia and Siberia until the 20th century when hunting, ecological damage, and increased human activities drove the birds to near extinction. In 1981, the entire species around the world was down to the seven crested ibises which were found only in Yangxian County, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, and deep in the Qinling Mountains, making Qinling, a natural boundary between China’s north and south, the “Noah’s Ark (诺亚方舟) ” of the wild bird. Since 1981, the local government of Yangxian County has put forward four bans for the protection of the species, prohibiting activities including hunting in the birds' living areas, cutting down trees where they nest, using chemicals in their food-finding areas, and firing guns in their breeding (繁殖) areas. The Chinese government arranged special funds to protect the habitat of crested ibises, sealing off mountains to plant trees in the birds’ living areas. China started the artificial breeding of crested ibises in 1991 and has bred more than 400 birds in Shaanxi. Years of constant effort have brought promising results. It is estimated that there are more than 5,000 crested ibises in the world now, and about half of them live in Shaanxi. The bird’s habitat in China has risen from less than five square kilometres in 1981 to the current 15,000 km². “It is lucky that the crested ibis, an ancient bird, is still flying around,” said Zan Linsen, head of the Shaanxi Academy of Forestry. “The conservation story of crested ibises not only shows us the power of ancient life but also the necessity and urgency of ecological environment protection.” 8. Why are the Qinling Mountains so important for crested ibises? A. They used to be the last habitat of crested ibises. B. They are where crested ibises were first found. C. They protect crested ibises from natural enemies. D. They are the only breeding area of crested ibises. 9. What can we conclude from the fourth paragraph? A. It's legal to own hunting guns in Yangxian County. B. Crested ibises are unlikely to be bred artificially. C. The government plays a key role in saving crested ibises. D. Hunting has been the biggest threat to crested ibises. 10. How does Zan Linsen feel about the conservation of crested ibises? A. Proud and ambitious. B. Relieved and happy. C. Sorry and regretful. D. Shocked and curious. 11. Which could be a suitable title for the text? A. Artificial Breeding of Crested Ibises in China B. Rare Animals in China: Crested Ibises C. Crested Ibises Found Again in the Qinling Mountains D. Endangered Crested Ibises Making a Comeback D Coffee drink is widespread. When people argue about whether coffee is good for health, they’re usually thinking of the health of the coffee drinker. Is it good for your heart? Does it increase blood pressure? Does it help you concentrate? However, coffee affects the health of the human population in other ways, too. Traditionally, coffee bushes were planted under the shade of taller trees. However, more and more farmers in Latin America are deforesting the land to grow full sun coffees. At first, this increases production because more coffee bushes can be planted if there aren’t any trees. With increased production come increased profits. Unfortunately, deforesting for coffee production immediately decreases the local wildlife habitat, because native birds nest and hide from predators(捕食者)in the tall trees and migrating birds rest there. Furthermore, in the long term, the full-sun method also damages the ecosystem because more chemical fertilizers and pesticides(杀虫剂)are needed to grow the coffee. The fertilizers and pesticides kill insects that eat coffee plant, and then the birds eat the poisoned insects and also die. The chemicals kill or sicken other animals as well, and can even enter the water that people will eventually drink. Fortunately, farmers in Central and South America are beginning to grow more coffee bushes in the shade. We can support these farmers by buying coffee with such labels as "shade-grown" and "bird-friendly". Sure, these varieties might cost a little more. But we're paying for the health of the birds, the land, ourselves, and the planet. I think it’s worth it. 12. Which opinion does the author agree with? A. People should buy full-sun coffee. B. Shade-grown coffee should be supported. C. Farmers should change the places to grow coffee. D. Pesticides should be forbidden in coffee planting. 13. Compared with the traditional method, what advantage does the full-sun method have? A. It can protect the ecosystem. B. It can promote people's health. C. It can provide mare nests for birds. D. It can increase the production of coffee. 14. How do farmers get more land to grow full-sun coffee? A. They cut down trees. B. They move to other countries. C. They turn grassland into farmland. D. They buy more land from other farmers. 15. What can we learn from the passage? A. It is quite worthwhile to buy shade-grown coffee at any cost. B. Farmers all have realized the importance of protecting the environment now. C. South American farmers are taking action to plant coffee in the traditional way. D. The full-sun method does good to the health of human beings in the long run. Choosing the right college for you is not so easy. Students from seven different primary schools in and around the small town were warming up and walking the route(路线)through thick evergreen forest. I looked around and finally spotted David, who was standing by himself off to the side by a fence. He was small for ten years old. His usual big toothy smile was absent today. I walked over and asked him why he wasn’t with the other children. He hesitated and then said he had decided not to run. What was wrong? He had worked so hard for this event! I quickly searched the crowd for the school’s coach and asked him what had happened. “I was afraid that kids from other schools would laugh at him,” he explained uncomfortably. “I gave him the choice to run or not, and let him decide.” I bit back my frustration(懊恼). I knew the coach meant well—he thought he was doing the right thing. After making sure that David could run if he wanted, I turned to find him coming towards me, his small body rocking from side to side as he swung his feet forward. David had a brain disease which prevented him from walking or running like other children, but at school his classmates thought of him as a regular kid. He always participated to the best of his ability in whatever they were doing. That was why none of the children thought it unusual that David had decided to join the cross-country team. It just took him longer—that’s all. David had not missed a single practice, and although he always finished his run long after the other children, he did always finish. As a special education teacher at the school, I was familiar with the challenges David faced and was proud of his strong determination. We sat down next to each other, but David wouldn’t look at me. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I watched as David moved up to the starting line with the other runners. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 油田一中2024-2025学年高三英语上学期12月月考 (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 注意事项:本试卷分第I卷(选择题)和第II卷(非选择题)两部分。 1. When you have this kind of relationship with a teacher, he or she can be someone to turn to with problems, such as problems with learning or school issues(问题). Here is a question:What if you don’t get along with your teachers? In fact, teachers want to get along well with you and enjoy seeing you learn. But teachers and students sometimes have personality clashes(个性冲突), which can happen between any two people. If you show your teacher that you want to make the situation better, he or she will probably do everything possible to make that happen. By dealing with a problem like this, you learn something about how to get along with people who are different from you. However, if a certain teacher isn’t your favorite, you can still have a successful relationship with him or her especially ________. Here are some of those responsibilities: Attend class ready to learn. Be prepared for class with the right stationery, books, and completed assignments(作业). Listen when your teacher is talking. Do your best, whether it’s a classroom assignment, homework, or a test. 4. According to the passage, getting along well with your teachers will make you ________. The passage is written for ________. A. teachers B. students C. advisers D. parents 【答案】4. D 5. C 6. A 7. 根据文章第一段的“Sure, it’s good to get along well with your teacher because it makes the time you spend in the classroom more pleasant.(当然,和老师相处融洽是件好事,因为这会让你在课堂上度过的时间更愉快。)” 根据第四段“If you show your teacher that you want to make the situation better, he or she will probably do everything possible to make that happen.(如果你向你的老师表明你想让情况变得更好,他或她可能会尽一切可能实现这一点。)” 故推测that指代的是“to make the situation better”,即想要你们之间的状况更好。所以C项a better relationship between you and your teacher.(和老师之间有更好的关系)符合以上说法。 根据下文提到的“Here are some of those responsibilities: Attend class ready to learn. Be prepared for class with the right stationery, and completed assignments(作业). Listen when your teacher is talking. Do your best, whether it’s a classroom assignment, homework or a test.(以下是其中的一些职责:上课准备学习。 A项if you fulfill(履行) your basic responsibilities as a student(如果你履行作为学生的基本责任)与上下文连贯,符合文意。故选A项。 根据文章第一段的“Sure, it’s good to get along well with your teacher because it makes the time you spend in the classroom more pleasant.(当然,和老师相处融洽是件好事,因为这会让你在课堂上度过的时间更愉快。)” C From the world’s last seven to a global population of more than 5,000, China spent nearly 40 years bringing back crested ibises (朱鹮) from the edge of extinction. B Crested ibises are unlikely to be bred artificially. Rare Animals in China: Crested Ibises C Crested Ibises Found Again in the Qinling Mountains D. Endangered Crested Ibises Making a Comeback 【答案】8. A 9. C 10. B 11. 故选A。 根据第四段“Since 1981, the local government of Yangxian County has put forward four bans for the protection of the species, prohibiting activities including hunting in the birds' living areas, cutting down trees where they nest, using chemicals in their food-finding areas, and firing guns in their breeding (繁殖) areas. China started the artificial breeding of crested ibises in 1991 and has bred more than 400 birds in Shaanxi. 根据最后一段““It is lucky that the crested ibis, an ancient bird, is still flying around,” said Zan Linsen, head of the Shaanxi Academy of Forestry. “The conservation story of crested ibises not only shows us the power of ancient life but also the necessity and urgency of ecological environment protection.” 通读全文,尤其是根据文章第一段中“From the world’s last seven to a global population of more than 5,000, China spent nearly 40 years bringing back crested ibises (朱鹮) from the edge of extinction. D。 D Coffee drink is widespread. B 13. D 14. A 15. 根据第五段“We can support these farmers by buying coffee with such labels as "shade-grown" and "bird-friendly".”(我们可以通过购买标有“遮荫种植”和“鸟类友好”标签的咖啡来支持这些农民)可知,作者支持我们多多购买遮荫种植的咖啡。 根据第二段“At first, this increases production because more coffee bushes can be planted if there aren’t any trees. 故选A。 根据第五段“Fortunately, farmers in Central and South America are beginning to grow more coffee bushes in the shade. Fortunately, farmers in Central and South America are beginning to grow more coffee bushes in the shade. Choosing the right college for you is not so easy. 故填It。 根据句型it was the third time that sb. had done sth. think twice“慎重考虑”。remind sb. to do sth. 故填to think。 I had already reminded her 3 (think) twice before buying anything和my wife ignored what I said为转折关系,所以用连词but连接。故填but。 故填which。 故填an。 参考词汇:国际机器人奥林匹克竞赛 International Robot Olympiad (IRO) Dear Ms. Green, __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yours sincerely, Li Hua 【答案】Dear Ms. Green, I’m Li Hua, a high school student passionate about robotics. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】We sat down next to each other, but David wouldn’t look at me. I said gently and quietly, “No one can change your mind, except yourself. If you desire to challenge yourself, there is nothing to do with others’ thoughts.” He sat still with a deep breath. “You have a full preparation before this event, which is the most important reason why you show up here”, I added with a sincere tone. Hearing my words, David turned to me tremblingly with tears spilling out of his eyes and expressed he had made a firm determination to finish the cross-country run. His coach heard what David said and gave me a look—the kind that was more determined than anyone else’s. I watched as David moved up to the starting line with the other runners. The race started. It seemed that the runway was extremely long for young children, not to mention a child with a brain disease. David insisted on running as if he had forgotten all his weaknesses, though he was tripped over within the a few kilometers. It didn’t take long before he picked himself up again and continued his mission. Classmates all appeared on the racing track, cheering for him. “Come on! You can make it! We are proud of you!” they shouted enthusiastically. To everyone’s joy, he reached the final line and ranked the 20th. It was no more important whether he won the first place or not. It was his brave heart and strong faith that could make something unusual happen finally. 词汇激活: 行动类: ①深呼吸:with a deep breath/breathe deeply ②坚持做:insisted on doing/be stick to doing 情绪类: ①热情:enthusiastically /with great passion ②骄傲:be proud of/take pride in 【点睛】[高分句型1]You have a full preparation before this event, which is the most important reason why you show up here. (由which引导的非限制性定语从句和why引导的限制性定语从句) [高分句型2]Hearing my words, David turned to me tremblingly with tears spilling out of his eyes and expressed he had made a firm determination to finish the cross-country run. (现在分词作状语和省略that的宾语从句) [高分句型3]It was his brave heart and strong faith that could make something unusual happen finally.
