Well, these are just some of the names that were well-known in the music scene of the 80s and early 90s. The 80s pop music scene was an important step to the popularity (普及) of present-day music. A new wave in the music scene was introduced, which made such music styles as punk rock, rap music and the MTV popular. Although it was an end to the old 60s and 70s styles, it was also the beginning of something big. The popularity of music videos meant that artists now replaced their guitar-based music with visual displays. A new wave of artists came on the scene and the entire industry developed quickly. The most famous 80s pop music video is Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Introduced in 1982, few people can forget the video not only because of its never-be-foreseen images, but also because of the popularity it received. Think of how 80s pop music changed the lives of people who grew up in the 80s. Ask a young man today to tell you the names of the “New Kids on the Block” and he will start talking about the neighbor kids who just moved in. These are not the answers you might have heard in the 80s. Though today’s young men do not recognize how cool 80s pop music was, most people will always remember it for what it was and these are happy memories they will always love. Some of the 80s pop music legends (传奇人物) include Madonna, U2, AeroSmith and of course the King of Pop Michael Jackson. Let’s not forget Prince, Tina Turner, Phil Collins and Motown’s Lionel Ritchie. Some of these musicians played music that has stood the test of time. Undoubtedly, the 80s pop music scene will live on for many more years to come. 4. What is the text mainly about? A. The characters of 80s pop music. B. What made 80s pop music popular. C. 80s pop music’s steps to popularity. D. The effects of 80s pop music. 5. 80s pop music mainly includes the following styles EXCEPT ________. A. guitar-based music B. the MTV C. rap music D. punk rock 6. Michael Jackson’s Thriller impressed people so deeply mainly because ________. A. it changed the lives of people B. he sang it in a special style C. it was made into a music video D. it left people with happy memories 7. The purpose of the last paragraph is to tell readers that ________. A. 80s pop music is and will remain popular B. 80s pop music has many faults C. 80s pop music is now out of date D. we shouldn’t forget the great musicians of the 80s 【答案】4. B 5. A 6. C 7. 文章第一段中的“The popularity of music videos meant that artists now replaced their guitar-based music with visual displays. A new wave of artists came on the scene and the entire industry developed quickly.”(音乐视频的流行意味着艺术家们现在用视觉显示器取代了以吉他为基础的音乐。 根据第一段的“A new wave in the music scene was introduced, which made such music styles as punk rock, rap music and the MTV popular.”(音乐界掀起了一股新的浪潮,使朋克摇滚、说唱音乐、MTV等音乐风格大受欢迎。) A项guitar-based music没有出现。故选A项。 根据第二段的“Introduced in 1982, few people can forget the video not only because of its never-before-seen images.”(1982年推出,很少有人能忘记这段视频,这不仅是因为它以前从未见过的图象。) 根据最后一段的“Undoubtedly, the 80s pop music scene will live on for many m ore years to come.”(毫无疑问,80年代的流行音乐将在未来的许多年里继续存在。) 故选A项。 C Koalas live in the eucalyptus (枝树) forests of southeastern and eastern Australia. They rely on the eucalyptus tree for both habitat and food. In fact, they seldom leave these trees. When not sleeping, they’re usually eating. They can eat more than a pound of eucalyptus leaves a day. Eucalyptus is poisonous, so the koala’s digestive (消化的) system has to work hard to digest it, breaking down the poisons and taking in the limited nutrients (营养). That’s why koalas sleep for 18 to 22 hours a day—they get very little energy from their diet. Koala numbers decreased in the late 19th and early 20th century from hunting for their fur. Now they face serious threats from habitat loss. Land clearing and bush fires-especially the 2019-2020 Australia Bushfire Season-have destroyed much of the forest they live in. Koalas are easy to be affected by climate change. Increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is decreasing the nutritional quality of eucalyptus leaves and causing longer, more serious droughts and wildfires. In response to drought, koalas are forced to stop sleeping and come down from the trees to find water, putting them at a higher risk of being killed. Koalas have been identified by the Australian government as one of the 113 animals requiring urgent (紧急的) help. Ensuring there’s the right kind of forest for them to return to is extremely urgent. State governments should create new koala reserves and persuade landowners not to cut down eucalyptus trees. Meanwhile, getting the public to understand koalas’ living habits and their health will throw light on koala biology, which helps to develop plans to better protect the species. 8. What can we learn about koalas? A. They like moving around very much. B. They can be found everywhere in Australia. C. They have developed smart survival skills. D. They often got ill while eating eucalyptus leaves. 9. What does paragraph 2 mainly talk about? A. Koalas’ newly-formed habits. B. The potential threats to Koalas. C. Koalas’ decreasing population. D. The outcomes of increased carbon dioxide. 10. What is the most important thing to do right now to protect koalas? A. Make sure they can have their habitat back. B. Conduct the research on their living habits. C. Realize that they are sensitive to climate change. D. Educate people about the awareness of protecting them. 11. From which is the text probably taken? A A travel brochure. B. A nature magazine. C. A sports newspaper. D. A health magazine. C 9. B 10. A 11. 根据第一段“Eucalyptus is poisonous, so the koala’s digestive (消化的) system has to work hard to digest it, breaking down the poisons and taking in the limited nutrients (营养). That’s why koalas sleep for 18 to 22 hours a day—they get very little energy from their diet. (桉树有毒,所以考拉的消化系统必须努力消化它,分解毒素并吸收有限的营养。这就是为什么考拉每天睡18到22个小时——它们从饮食中获得的能量很少。)”可知,考拉掌握了聪明的生存技能。故选C。 【9题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第二段“Koala numbers decreased in the late 19th and early 20th century from hunting for their fur. 根据最后一段“Ensuring there’s the right kind of forest for them to return to is extremely urgent. State governments should create new koala reserves and persuade landowners not to cut down eucalyptus trees. (确保有合适的森林供他们返回是极其紧迫的。州政府应该建立新的考拉保护区,并说服土地所有者不要砍伐桉树。)”可知,现在保护考拉最重要的事情是确保它们能回到自己的栖息地。故选A。 根据第一段“Koalas live in the eucalyptus (枝树) forests of southeastern and eastern Australia. They rely on the eucalyptus tree for both habitat and food. In fact, they seldom leave these trees. When not sleeping, they’re usually eating. They can eat more than a pound of eucalyptus leaves a day. That’s why koalas sleep for 18 to 22 hours a day—they get very little energy from their diet. (考拉生活在澳大利亚东南部和东部的桉树林中。它们依靠桉树作为栖息地和食物。事实上,它们很少离开这些树。不睡觉的时候,他们通常在吃饭。它们一天能吃掉一磅多的桉树叶。桉树有毒,所以考拉的消化系统必须努力消化它,分解毒素并吸收有限的营养。这就是为什么考拉每天睡18到22个小时——它们从饮食中获得的能量很少。)”和最后一段“Koalas have been identified by the Australian government as one of the 113 animals requiring urgent (紧急的) help. (澳大利亚政府已确认考拉是113种需要紧急救助的动物之一。确保有合适的森林供他们返回是极其紧迫的。州政府应该建立新的考拉保护区,并说服土地所有者不要砍伐桉树。与此同时,让公众了解考拉的生活习惯和健康状况,将有助于了解考拉生物学,这有助于制定更好地保护该物种的计划。)”可知,这篇文章主要介绍考拉的情况,所以应该是来源于自然杂志。故选B。 D Avi Loeb, a scientist, believes that we are not alone in the universe. The belief fits with Loeb's alien spaceship theory that at least one alien spaceship might be flying over the orbit of Jupiter, which won the international attention last year. Astronomers in Hawaii found the first known interstellar object in late 2017. It was a bit of light moving so fast past the sun that it could only have come from another star. Almost every astronomer on the planet was trying to figure out how the object, called “Oumuamua” got to our far-away part of the Milky way galaxy. “One possibility is that ‘Oumuamua’ is debris from an advanced technological equipment,” Loeb said. “Technology comes from another solar system just showed up at our door. ” “‘Oumuamua’ is not an alien spaceship,” Paul Sutter, another scientist wrote. He suggested Loeb was seeking publicity. Most scientists think “Oumuamua” is some sort of rock. They think it could be an icy wandering comet. Loeb says that “Oumuamua's” behavior means it can't be a block of rock shaped like a long photo. He thinks it's more likely an object that's very long and thin, perhaps like a long pancake or a ship's sail. Loeb says that if someone shows him evidence that contradicts his beliefs, he will immediately give in. Loeb believes himself a truth-teller and risk-taker in an age of very safe, too-quiet scientists. “The worst thing that can happen to me is that I would be relieved of my management duties, and that would give me even more time to focus on science,” Loeb says. He said he wouldn't mind giving up all the titles he had and returning to the Israeli farming village where he grew up. 12. What does Loeb say about “Oumuamua”? A. It is an icy comet. B. It looks like a long photo. C. It is actually some sort of rock. D. It may come from another alien civilization. 13. What does the underlined word “contradicts” in paragraph 4 probably mean? A. Goes against. B. Relies on. C. Turns to. D. Searches for. 14. What do you think of Loeb? A. He is foolish. B. He is unsatisfied with his titles. C. He is a firm believer in scientific truth. D. He is uncertain about his career future. 15. What's the best title for the text? A. Have Aliens Paid a Visit in Spaceships? B. Do We Really Know about Space Theory? C. Scientists Are Working on High Technology D. Astronomers Are Encouraging Space Travel 【答案】12. D 13. A 14. C 15. 根据第二段中Loeb所说“One possibility is that ‘Oumuamua’ is debris (碎片) from an advanced technological equipment(一种可能是‘Oumuamua’是来自先进技术设备的碎片)”以及“Technology comes from another solar system just showed up at our door.(来自另一个太阳系的技术刚刚出现在我们的门口)”可知,Loeb认为“Oumuamua” 可能来自另一个外星文明。 根据上一段中Paul Sutter所说“‘Oumuamua’ is not an alien spaceship(‘Oumuamua’不是外星飞船)”可知,有科学家不同意Loeb的观点;根据划线词句后半句“he will immediately give in(他会立即让步)”可知,Loeb并不是绝对要坚持自己的观点,在某种条件下,他会让步的;而划线部分“Loeb says that if someone shows him evidence that contradicts his beliefs…(Loeb说,如果有人向他出示证据contradicts他的信念……)” A. Goes against.违背;B. Relies on.依靠;C. Turns to.求助于;D. Searches for. 故选A。 根据最后一段中“Loeb believes himself a truth-teller and risk- taker in an age of very safe, too-quiet scientists.(Loeb认为,在一个科学家非常安全、过于安静的时代,他是一个讲真话的人,也是一个敢于冒险的人)”可知,Loeb是科学真理的坚定信徒。 通读全文,根据第一段中“The belief fits with Loeb’s alien spaceship theory that at least one alien spaceship might be flying over the orbit of Jupiter, which won the international attention last year.(这一观点与Loeb的外星飞船理论相吻合,该理论认为至少有一艘外星飞船可能正在飞越木星的轨道,该理论去年引起了国际关注)”等内容可知,本文主要讲述科学家Avi Loeb和其他科学家对“Oumuamua”的不同理解,辩论是否是外星飞船临近地球。 故选A。 Some students prefer to learn by themselves. They think they can learn better in this way because they have more freedom, pressure and independence. There is some truth in their way. ___16___ It is better to have a teacher, especially when they learn something more difficult. First, a teacher can act as a guide to lead you to success. When you learn, you need help and advice. A teacher will give you a hand when you face difficulties. ___17___ What is more, a teacher puts real pressure on you. If you study by yourself, you must be strong-minded enough to keep on. ___18___ But under the guidance of a teacher, you will feel there is always someone to watch you. Teachers can help you solve all of your problems. C. In short I prefer to go to class studying with a teacher. D. Without a guide, you would be searching in darkness. E. And you may become inactive for lack of a strong will. F. But they fail to see the advantages of learning with a teacher. G. In class, teachers do more than just going over the material in the text. F 17. D 18. E 19. G 20. 【16题详解】 上文“Some students prefer to learn by themselves. They think they can learn better in this way because they have more freedom, pressure and independence. There is some truth in their way.(有些学生喜欢自学。他们认为这样可以学得更好,因为他们有更多的自由、压力和独立性。他们的方式有些道理)”提到那些喜欢自学的学生,而下文“It is better to have a teacher, especially when they learn something more difficult.(最好是有一个老师,特别是当他们学习更困难的东西)”提到有个老师一起会比较好,故上下文是转折关系,F项“但是他们没有看到跟着老师学习的好处”符合语境,故选F。 【17题详解】 根据上文“First, a teacher can act as a guide to lead you to success. When you learn, you need help and advice. A teacher will give you a hand when you face difficulties.(首先,老师可以作为一个向导,引导你走向成功。当你学习的时候,你需要帮助和建议。当你遇到困难时,老师会帮助你)”可知,老师能指导你走向成功,D项“没有向导,你将在黑暗中寻找”符合语境,D 项中“guide”是词汇复现,故选D。 【18题详解】 上文“What is more, a teacher puts real pressure on you. If you study by yourself, you must be strong-minded enough to keep on.(更重要的是,老师会给你真正的压力。如果你自学,你必须有足够的毅力坚持下去)”提到,独自学习的学生需要有坚强的意志才能坚持下去,E项“你可能会因为缺乏坚强的意志而变得不活跃”符合语境,接着说缺少坚强的意志就可能会变得懒散,故选E。 【19题详解】 根据上文“What is more, a teacher puts real pressure on you. If you study by yourself, you must be strong-minded enough to keep on.(最后但并非最不重要的是,跟着老师学习可以帮助你从老师的知识中获益)”可知,本段是说从老师的知识中获得的益处,G项“在课堂上,老师所做的不仅仅是复习课文中的材料”符合语境,故选G。 【20题详解】 这一段似乎作为总结性的一段,根据下文“I choose to learn in a big family — my school. Without a teacher, I would feel there would be no fun and no pressure.(我选择在一个大家庭里学习——我的学校)”可知,作者选择在学校学习,C项“简而言之,我更喜欢上课和老师一起学习”符合语境,故选C。 Nathan was a boy in my band class as well as in my math class. The pool at the YMCA was one of their favorite places, where they learnt and practiced swimming. Rosa and Stephanie did everything together. They rode the school bus together. They sat together during lunch. They took dance lessons together and they even went to the same summer camp. Their classmates called them “twins”. They were best friends. Most of the time. Sometimes, though, when Stephanie was with other friends, she ignored Rosa or treated her like a little kid, even though they were the same age. Rosa and Stephanie had played together since they were babies, but sometimes Stephanie didn't act like a friend. Today was one of those times. “Sorry. I’m already going to the pool,” Stephanie said. “Toni and Vanessa and I are going.” She gave a broad smile, but in Rosa’s eyes, it wasn’t her nice smile. Saying nothing more, she walked straight away to join Toni and Vanessa, and Rosa was left standing alone, with her face burning and an angry tension coming into her limbs. After school, at dance class, Stephanie talked and giggled with the other dancers as they stretched in front of the mirror. When Rosa came in, Stephanie didn’t say hello to her, but just another smile. Rosa hesitated for a while about whether she should join them, but she still felt too upset. Then she noticed Kiara, the new girl. Rosa joined her and began stretching, too. Kiara smiled and Rosa smiled back. The two girls began to talk. Rosa discovered that Kiara was not the quiet girl she had thought she was. Kiara talked a lot — about her little brother, about the tree house her uncle had built and even about swimming. “I love swimming,” Kiara said. “I will hold a pool party at the YMCA. Would you like to come?” “Yes. It’s awesome.” Rosa responded. She tried not to check the mirror to see if Stephanie had noticed. She hoped Stephanie felt left out. After the dance class, when Rosa boarded the bus, Stephanie was waiting in their usual seat. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When Rosa saw Stephanie in low spirits, her heart sank. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】After the dance lesson, when Rosa boarded the bus, Stephanie was waiting in their usual seat. Seeing Rosa, Stephanie quickly moved her backpack off the seat to make room for her. But Rosa walked past and slid into the empty seat next to Kiara. They were talking about the pool party when Stephanie went over. “Do you still want to go swimming tonight?” Stephanie asked. “I’m already going,” she said without looking up. “Kiara and I are going together.” Rosa smiled. Stephanie nodded and looked at her feet. When Rosa saw Stephanie in low spirits, her heart sank. Getting even didn’t feel the way she had expected. She could walk away with her new friend and not look back. But when she saw Stephanie's watery eyes, her heart beat painfully. "Maybe we could all go together.” Rosa said. Stephanie’s face lit up. “I’m sorry for ignoring you. Thank you for your tolerance.” Stephanie said. Rosa gave her a hug and said, “I was too sensitive. Thank you for your tolerance, too.” The two girls smiled at each other, which was their nice smile. 词汇激活 行为类 ①迅速移开背包:quickly moved her backpack off / swiftly moved her backpack off ②走过去:went over / walked over ③不回头:not look back / not turn her head 情绪类 ①心跳得很痛苦:beat painfully / beat bitterly ②露出喜色:lit up / brightened up 【点睛】[高分句型1]. Do the names George Michael, Madonna and Michael Jackson sound familiar? 80s pop music is now out of date D. we shouldn’t forget the great musicians of the 80s C Koalas live in the eucalyptus (枝树) forests of southeastern and eastern Australia. A. A travel brochure. B. A nature magazine. C. A sports newspaper. D. A health magazine. D Avi Loeb, a scientist, believes that we are not alone in the universe. A It is an icy comet. Astronomers Are Encouraging Space Travel 第二节(共5小题;每小题2. 5分,满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Some students prefer to learn by themselves. 注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 After the dance class, when Rosa boarded the bus, Stephanie was waiting in their usual seat. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When Rosa saw Stephanie in low spirits, her heart sank. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
