根据“What is the Watercolor Academy”部分第二句“Here, you will also become a member of a unique art community where you can exhibit your artworks, ”(在这里,你也将成为一个独特的艺术社区的一员,在那里你可以展示你的艺术作品,)可知,学员可以展示自己的艺术作品。 根据“Contents”部分第二句“Our lively, fun Watercolor Painting Courses are designed to debunk (揭穿) the myth that painting with watercolors and inks is difficult—through our tutors’ lively instruction and encouragement, students will lose their depression and create lively artwork.”(我们开设生动有趣的水彩画课程,旨在揭开水墨画难的神秘面纱——通过老师的生动教导和鼓励,学生将不再沮丧,而是创造出生动活泼的艺术作品。) 根据文章最后一段中“If you choose the private class, you will be able to select the painting of your choice and schedule the day and time that works well for you and the instructor. ”(如果你选择的是私人课程,你将能够选择你所选择的绘画,并安排适合你和导师的日期和时间。)可知,对于私教课,学员可以选择适合自己的上课时间。故选C。 B I enjoy throwing stuff away. I’d love to go full minimalism (极简主义), but my wife and two teenage kids do not share my dream of a house with almost nothing in it. I have tried. When the kids were little, I taught them my two favorite games – “Do We Need It?” and “Put It in Its Place”– and made them play every few months. Their enthusiasm never matched mine. If I’m going to be honest, my own tidying skills are not as great as I’d like. My “discarded” pile is never quite the trash mountain I want because I make up excuses for why things are useful. I consider this unhealthy. I want to be better at moving on. So, this time I found help – the classics for people like me: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo. Kondo’s commitment to her craft is astonishing. Her philosophy is only to keep things you love. Can I go full Kondo? I will try. One central idea is to clean by category. You start by collecting all clothes and gathering them together for consideration. It makes you rethink how you organize. Next, hold each item and ask if it brings you joy. This way you’re choosing what to keep. And that’s how I find myself with all my clothes on my bedroom floor. My wife walks by and gives me a look that says I’m nuts. She’s probably not wrong. Somewhere near the bottom of this chaos is my special jacket. I move through the pile: pants, shirts, suits and shoes. Then my last category: jackets. I haven’t worn the thing in about 30 years. Somehow, it has survived. Now that I’m striving to follow Kondo – surely, its time has come? I hold it in my hand. There is a tear just below the collar that widens as I hold it. It’s literally falling apart. Will I ever wear it again? Not a chance. Does it feel good to wear? Does it bring me joy? Actually, yes. At this moment, my daughter walks in. She asks about the jacket. I tell her the story. She thinks I should keep it. It’s cool and unique and full of memories. She is arguing that nostalgia (怀念) is the very reason. I’m not entirely convinced by my daughter’s arguments. I believe in looking ahead, not backward. Nevertheless, sometimes it’s hard to let go. So I gently place the jacket on the “keep” pile. 4. What does the underlined word “discarded” probably mean in Paragraph 2? A. adjusted B. reserved C. abandoned D. tidied 5. What drives the author to read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up? A. To learn how to categorize. B. To improve his tidying skills. C. To persuade his family members. D. To develop passion for minimalism. 6. What is the attitude of the author’s family members toward minimalism? A. They don’t understand it. B. They completely support it. C. They are strongly opposed to it. D. They are less passionate about it. 7. What’s the best title for the text? A. Knowing when to let go B. Classifying what you love C. Throwing worn-out clothes D. Keeping valuable possessions 【答案】4. C 5. B 6. D 7. 根据第二段“If I’m going to be honest, my own tidying skills are not as great as I’d like. My “discarded” pile is never quite the trash mountain I want because I make up excuses for why things are useful. ”(说实话,我自己的整理技能并没有我想要的那么好。我的“discarded”堆从来都不是我想要的垃圾山,因为我为东西为什么有用找借口)可知,爱整理的作者,整理出来要扔弃的不是自己想要的垃圾山。故划线词意思是丢弃,近义词是abandoned。故选C。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“I want to be better at moving on.”(我想更好地继续前进)以及第三段“So, this time I found help – the classics for people like me: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo. Kondo’s commitment to her craft is astonishing. Her philosophy is only to keep things you love.”(所以,这次我找到了帮助——为像我这样人准备的经典书籍:近藤麻理惠的《改变生活的整理魔法》。 根据第一段“I enjoy throwing stuff away. I’d love to go full minimalism (极简主义), but my wife and two teenage kids do not share my dream of a house with almost nothing in it. I have tried. When the kids were little, I taught them my two favorite games – ‘Do We Need It?’ and ‘Put It in Its Place’– and made them play every few months. Their enthusiasm never matched mine. ”(我喜欢扔掉东西。我喜欢完全极简主义风格,但我的妻子和两个十几岁的孩子不喜欢我那种几乎什么都没有的房子的梦想。我已经试过了。当孩子们还小的时候,我教他们我最喜欢的两个游戏——“我们需要它吗?”和《放回原处》——每隔几个月就让他们演奏一次。他们的热情永远比不上我)可知,家人们对极简主义不那么有激情。故选D。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文以及根据最后一段“I believe in looking ahead, not backward. Nevertheless, sometimes it’s hard to let go. So I gently place the jacket on the “keep” pile.”(我相信向前看,而不是向后看。 A。 C People have different ways of dealing with a common cold. Some take over-the-counter(非处方的)medicines such as aspirin while others try popular home remedies(治疗)like herbal tea or chicken soup. Yet, here is the tough truth about the common cold: nothing really cures you of it. So why do people sometimes believe that their remedies work? According to James Taylor, professor at the University of Washington, colds usually go away on their own in about a week, improving a little each day after symptoms peak, so it’s easy to believe it’s medicine rather than time that deserves the credit. It still seems hard to believe that we can deal with more serious diseases yet we are powerless against something so common as a cold. Recently, scientists came closer to figuring out why. To understand it, you first need to know how antiviral(抗病毒的)drugs work. They attack the virus by attaching to and changing the surface structures of the virus. To do that, the drug must fit and lock into the virus like the right piece of a jigsaw(拼图), which means scientists have to identify the virus and build a 3D model to study its surface before they can design an antiviral drug that is effective enough. The two cold viruses that scientists had long known about were rhinovirus(鼻病毒)A and B. But they didn’t find out about the existence of a third virus, rhinovirus C until 2006.All three of them contribute to the common cold, but drugs that work well against rhinovirus A and B have little effect when used against rhinovirus C. “This explains most of the previous failures of drug trials against rhinoviruses,” study leader Professor Ann C. Palmenberg at the University of Wiscons in Madison, US, told Scienc Daily. Now, more than 10 years after the discovery of rhinovirus C, scientists have finally built a highly detailed 3D model of the virus, showing that the surface of the virus is, as expected, different from that of other cold viruses. With the model in hand, hopefully a real cure for a common cold is on its way. Soon, we may no longer have to waste our money on medicines that don’t really work. 8. Which of the following is NOT the way people usually deal with a common cold? A. Eating chicken soup. B. Taking aspirin. C. Taking exercise. D. Drinking herbal tea. 9. What are antiviral drugs supposed to do? A. To fit and lock into the cold virus. B. To exactly copy the cold viruses. C. To prevent colds from developing into serious diseases. D. To absorb different kinds of cold viruses at the same time. 10. What do scientists still need to find out? A. Why drugs for treating a common cold sometimes fail. B. Why the surfaces of different viruses are different. C. How to build a detailed 3D model of rhinovirus C. D. How we can effectively fight against rhinovirus C. 11. What does the author think of the usual remedies to treat a common cold? A. Effective. B. Fruitless. C. Expensive. D. Worthwhile. C 9. A 10. D 11. 根据第一段中“People have different ways of dealing with a common cold. Some take over-the-counter medicines such as aspirin while others try popular home remedies like herbal tea or chicken soup.(人们对普通感冒有不同的治疗方法。一些人服用阿司匹林等非处方药物,另一些人则尝试草药茶或鸡汤等流行的家庭疗法)”可知,人们会通过服用阿司匹林等非处方药物以及草药茶或鸡汤等来治疗感冒,结合选项,并不包括锻炼。故选C项。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中“They attack the virus by attaching to and changing the surface structures of the virus. To do that, the drug must fit and lock into the virus like the right piece of a jigsaw, which means scientists have to identify the virus and build a 3D model to study its surface before they can design an antiviral drug that is effective enough.(它们通过附着和改变病毒的表面结构来攻击病毒。要做到这一点,药物必须像拼图一样适合并锁定在病毒中,这意味着科学家必须识别病毒,并建立一个3D模型来研究其表面,然后才能设计出足够有效的抗病毒药物)”可知,抗病毒药物应该像拼图一样适合并锁定在病毒中。故选A项。 根据第四段“The two cold viruses that scientists had long known about were rhinovirus A and B. But they didn’t find out about the existence of a third virus, rhinovirus C until 2006. All three of them contribute to the common cold, but drugs that work well against rhinovirus A and B have little effect when used against rhinovirus C.(科学家们早就知道的两种感冒病毒是鼻病毒A和鼻病毒b。但直到2006年,他们才发现第三种病毒——鼻病毒C的存在。这三种病毒都会导致普通感冒,但对鼻病毒A和B有效的药物对鼻病毒C几乎没有效果)”以及倒数第二段“Now, more than 10 years after the discovery of rhinovirus C, scientists have finally built a highly detailed 3D model of the virus, showing that the surface of the virus is, as expected, different from that of other cold viruses.(现在,在发现鼻病毒C 10多年后,科学家终于建立了该病毒的高度详细的3D模型,显示该病毒的表面,如预期的那样,不同于其他感冒病毒)”可推知,现在科学家已经建立了病毒C的高度详细的3D模型,接下来就是要找到对抗鼻病毒C有效药物。 根据最后一段“With the model in hand, hopefully a real cure for a common cold is on its way. Soon, we may no longer have to waste our money on medicines that don’t really work.(有了这个模型,治愈普通感冒的真正方法有望问世。很快,我们就不必再把钱浪费在那些根本不起作用的药物上了)”可推知,作者认为治疗普通感冒的常用疗法是没有意义的。故选B项。 D An artificial intelligence can decode (解码) words and sentences from brain activity with surprising—though still limited—accuracy. Using only a few seconds of brain activity data, the AI guesses what a person has heard. It lists the correct answer in its top 10 possibilities up to 73 percent of the time, researchers found in a study. Developed at the parent company of Facebook, Meta, the AI could eventually be used to help thousands of people around the world unable to communicate through speech, typing or gestures, researchers report on August 25 at arXiv.org. Most existing technologies to help such patients communicate require risky brain surgeries to implant electrodes. This new approach “could provide a practical path to help patients without the use of invasive methods,” says neuroscientist Jean-Rémi King, a Meta AI researcher in Paris. King and his colleagues trained a computational tool to detect words and sentences on 56,000 hours of speech recordings from 53 languages. The tool, also known as a language model, learned how to recognize specific features of language. With the help of a computational method, the team tried to decode what participants had heard using just three seconds of brain activity data from each person. The team instructed the AI to match the speech sounds from the story recordings to patterns of brain activity that the AI computed as corresponding to what people were hearing. It then made predictions about what the person might have been hearing during that short time, given more than 1,000 possibilities. The correct answer was in the AI’s top 10 guesses up to 73 percent of the time, the researchers found. The new study is “decoding of speech perception, not production,” King notes. Though speech production is the ultimate goal, for now, “we’re quite a long way away.” 12. What is the main idea of paragraph 1? A. The principle of human brain activity. B The limitation of human brain activity. C. The definition of the artificial intelligence. D. The new function of the artificial intelligence. 13. Whom might the AI be beneficial to? A. People unable to hear. B. People who can’t move around. C. People who are unconscious. D. People unable to communicate normally. 14. What is the purpose of paragraph 4? A. To analyze the features of the study. B. To state the significance of the study. C. To introduce the process of the study. D. To present the achievement of the study. 15. What can we infer about the AI from the passage? A. It performs well in the speech production. B. Its accuracy is far from the researchs’ satisfaction. C. It will help patients avoid dangerous brain surgeries. D. Its language learning ability is beyond expectation. D 13. D 14. C 15. 根据第一段“An artificial intelligence can decode (解码) words and sentences from brain activity with surprising—though still limited—accuracy. Using only a few seconds of brain activity data, the AI guesses what a person has heard. It lists the correct answer in its top 10 possibilities up to 73 percent of the time, researchers found in a study.(人工智能可以从大脑活动中解码单词和句子,其准确性令人惊讶(尽管仍然有限)。只需要几秒钟的大脑活动数据,人工智能就能猜出一个人听到了什么。研究人员在一项研究中发现,正确答案出现在前10种可能性中的概率高达73% 。)”可知,第一段主要介绍了人工智能可以从大脑活动中解码单词和句子,这是人工智能的一项新功能,故选D。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“Developed at the parent company of Facebook, Meta, the AI could eventually be used to help thousands of people around the world unable to communicate through speech, typing or gestures, researchers report August 25 at arXiv.org.(8月25日,研究人员在 arXiv.org 上作的报告称,这种人工智能由脸书的母公司Meta开发,最终可用于帮助全世界数以千计无法通过语音、打字或手势进行交流的人。)” 根据第四段中“King and his colleagues trained a computational tool to detect words and sentences on 56,000 hours of speech recordings from 53 languages...With the help of a computational method, the team tried to decode what participants had heard using just three seconds of brain activity data from each person. The team instructed the AI to match the speech sounds from the story recordings to patterns of brain activity...(King 和他的同事们训练了一个计算工具来检测来自53种语言的56000小时的语音记录中的单词和句子……在计算方法的帮助下,研究小组试图用每个人三秒钟的大脑活动数据解码参与者所听到的内容。研究小组指示人工智能将故事录音中的语音与大脑活动模式进行匹配……)”可推知,第四段的目的是介绍该研究的过程,故选C。 【15题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“Most existing technologies to help such patients communicate require risky brain surgeries to implant electrodes. This new approach “could provide a practical path to help patients without the use of invasive methods,” says neuroscientist Jean-Rémi King, a Meta AI researcher in Paris.(大多数现有的技术,以帮助这些病人沟通需要危险的脑部手术植入电极。这种新方法“可以提供一种实用的途径来帮助病人而不需要使用侵入性的方法,”神经科学家 Jean-Rémi King说,他是巴黎的Meta AI研究员。)”可推知,人工智能技术不需要给病人脑部做手术植入电极,所以说它能帮助病人避免危险的脑部手术。故选C。 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 As a way to connect the mind, body and spirit, now, yoga is practiced or celebrated all over the world by adults and teens. ____16____ How can yoga actually benefit children in the long run? According to the white paper Youth of China in the New Era released by the State Council Information Office in April, ____45____ young Chinese sometimes experience conflicting ideas, they always love the country sincerely and continue to pursue lofty values and ideals. 36. posted##had posted 37. which 38. truly 39. held 40. has been watched 41. an 42. to 43. feeling 44. security 45. although##though##while 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇新闻报道。 分析句子结构可知,空格后是一个非限制性定语从句,修饰“the national flag being raised as the sun comes up”这一动作,关系词将其代入定语从句中作主语,应用关系代词which来引导。故填which。 故填has been watched。 故填an。 故填to。 分析句子结构可知,空格前有固定短语a strong sense of“一种强烈的感觉”,of是介词,所以空格处应用名词形式security,a strong sense of security意为“强烈的安全感”。 根据句意和分析句子结构可知,空格处所在是从句,后面的“they always love the country sincerely and continue to pursue lofty values and ideals.” 故填although或though或while。 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Dear fellow students, Aimed at building up our body, a campaign of one hour of physical exercise a day will be launched in our school, which can be extremely beneficial to our health. He was so busy dreaming about all the fish he would catch that he was unaware of everything else around him. He rode along until a strange sound drew him to the present. He came to a stop and looked curiously up to the sky. What he saw shocked and terrified him. A huge swarm (一大群) of bees filled the sky like a black cloud and they seemed to be heading angrily towards him. With no time to waste, Andy sped off in the opposite direction, riding with great speed but without knowing how to escape the swarm. With a rapidly beating heart, he sped down the rough road. As the bees came closer, his panic increased. Andy knew that he was sensitive to bee stings (蜇). The last sting had landed him in hospital and that was only one bee sting! He had been forced to lie in bed for two whole days. Suddenly, his father’s words came to him. “When you are in a tight situation, don’t panic. Use your brain and think your way out of it.” On a nearby hill, he could see smoke waving slowly skywards from the chimney of the Nelson’s home. “Bees don’t like smoke,” he thought. “They couldn’t get into the house.” Andy raced towards the Nelson’s house, but the bees were gaining ground. Andy knew he could not reach the house in time. He estimated that the bees would catch up with him soon. But he tried his best to keep calm so that he could come up with an idea to escape from the dangerous situation. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eyes, he spotted a small dam which was often used by Mr. Nelson to irrigate his vegetable garden. Without hesitation, Andy jumped off his bike and dived into the cool water. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In no time, his mother appeared in front of him. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文: Without hesitation, Andy jumped off his bike and dived into the cool water. After holding his breath for as long as he could, Andy came up for air and noticed the bees had gone. Dragging himself out of the dam, he struggled up the hilly slope and rang the doorbell. Mr. Nelson happened to be home and seeing the tired and wet boy, the owner took him inside. After knowing what Andy had experienced, he praised the boy and rang his mother. In no time, his mother appeared in front of him. Seeing Andy, his mother anxiously asked whether he was injured. Andy answered it was the dam that saved him. His mother laughed with relief and said he really needed that fishing break to help him recover. But Andy did not hear her. He was thinking his father’s words “When you are in a tight situation, don’t panic.” And he realized how important it was to listen to parents. 词汇激活 行为类 努力:struggle/strive 表扬:praise/admiration/commendation 认识到:realize/understand/comprehend 情绪类 焦急地:anxiously/restlessly/uneasily 如释重负:relief/release/liberation 【点睛】[高分句型1]After holding his breath for as long as he could, Andy came up for air and noticed the bees had gone.(as long as引导的状语从句) [高分句型2]Seeing Andy, his mother anxiously asked whether he was injured.(whether引导的宾语从句) 听力 1—5 BBACA 6—10 CBABC 11—15 ACAAC 16—20 BBCAA 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2024-2025学年度上学期联考期中考试 高二英语试卷 考试时间120分钟,满分150分 注意事项: 1. 1. Keeping valuable possessions C People have different ways of dealing with a common cold. A. Effective. B. Fruitless. C. Expensive. D. Worthwhile. D An artificial intelligence can decode (解码) words and sentences from brain activity with surprising—though still limited—accuracy. B. The limitation of human brain activity. As a way to connect the mind, body and spirit, now, yoga is practiced or celebrated all over the world by adults and teens. ____16____ How can yoga actually benefit children in the long run? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 听力 1—5 BBACA 6—10 CBABC 11—15 ACAAC 16—20 BBCAA 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
