五、Teaching procedures
Step 1: Warming-up (5 minutes)
1. Show some pictures of famous places of interest around the world, such as the Eiffel Tower in France, the Taj Mahal in India, and the Pyramids in Egypt. Ask students if they know these places and what they think of them.
2. Lead in the topic of this lesson by asking students: "Do you know any famous places of interest in China?"
Step 2: Presentation (10 minutes)
1. Play the audio of the introductions and ask students to complete the notes below.
The Great Wall: Over (1) 20,000 kilometres long with a history of more than 2,000 years. One of the wonders of the world.
The Olympic Park: One of the places for the 2008 Olympic Games. Some (2) modern buildings.

2. Check the answers with the students and explain the key words and phrases, such as "wonder", "modern" and "works of art".
3. Show some pictures of the places of interest mentioned above and introduce them in detail. For example:
The Great Wall: It is one of the most famous symbols of China. It was built to protect the country in ancient times. It is very long and you can see beautiful scenery when you stand on it.
The Olympic Park: It was built for the 2008 Olympic Games. There are many modern buildings, such as the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube. These buildings are very beautiful and unique.
The Summer Palace: It is a large and beautiful garden. There are many ponds, bridges, pavilions and palaces. You can enjoy the peaceful and beautiful scenery here.
The National Museum of China: It is a very important museum that collects a large number of precious objects and works of art. You can learn a lot about Chinese history and culture here.
Step 3: Practice (15 minutes)
1. Ask students to work in pairs and talk about what places they could take the exchange students to. Use the conversation between Daniel and Amy as a model.
2. Invite some pairs to present their conversations to the class and give feedback and encouragement.
3. Group work: Divide the students into groups of four. Each group discusses and makes a list of places of interest they would like to show the exchange students. Then, one representative of each group presents their list and explains the reasons.
