On Oct.8, Shanghai opened a special clinic (门诊) for children who have problems with math and spatial (空间的) understanding. On that day, six students went there with their parents. At the clinic, doctors checked how well the students understood math and their spatial skills, and then made plans to help them learn better. They even had special educational games with VR and AR technologies to help students. A recent study found that about §97 percent of children at primary school on the Chinese mainland(中国大陆) have trouble with math and spatiet kills, reported Shanghai Daily. Among them, 10.57 percent are in low grades,10.07 parcent are in middle grades and 4.76 percent are in high grades. Special clinics for helping with learning problems are becoming common in China, especially in big cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, and Nanjing. However, experts remind parents that these clinics may help students, but they can't magically (神奇地) turn them into top students. It's more important to have realistic (实际的) expectations. Shi Ping from Tianjin Children's Hospital told China Daily that putting too much pressure on kids can sometimes make learning harder. Parents should think about how they teach their kids and consider making some changes. After all, just as an expert said, “Doing well in school shouldn't be the only thing that matters in a child's life.” 23. Which is TRUE about the special clinic in Shanghai? A. They had to do shopping at different stores, such as fish shops, vegetable shops and meat shops. The rise of supermarkets changed that. Sylcan Goldman, who owned many supermarkets in Oklahoma City, noticed that when customers in his stores used handheld baskets, they often stopped shopping when the baskets became too full or too heavy. He told his staff to walk up to people whose baskets were full and offer them another basket. It didn't work, so Goldman searched for something better. One evening in 1936,a good idea came as Goldman worked late in his office. He looked at a folding chair and had the idea of replacing the seat with two shelves(掷架)—— one higher and one lower than the seat's usual position— and adding wheels to the legs. The shelves would hold shopping baskets, which could be taken off when not in use. After several tries, Goldman built some carts and introduced them in his stores in the following summer. However, they were not popular with customers. Most housewives said they didn't need a cart because they already had a baby carriage (婴儿推车). Goldman didn't give up. He made people of all ages act as customers and use the carts. This way worked, and customers began to give them a try. Within a few years, shopping carts were everywhere. They were quite similar to the shopping carts used in the supermarkets nowadays. 27. What does the underlined word“that” in Paragraph 1 refer to? A. People were too poor to buy fridges at that time. B. Things were cheapson stores than in supermarkets. C. People often couldn't buy all they needed in one store. 28. Which picture can best show Goldman's invention of the shopping cart? 29. What was most housewives' attitude (态度) towards shopping carts according to Paragraph 4? A. Doubtful. B. Supportive. C. Uninterested. 30. How did Goldman finally make customers choose to use the shopping carts? A. By offering something free to those who used the carts. B. By making people of all ages play the role of customers. C. By posting some ads about the carts in local newspapers. 第二节语篇补全(共5小题; 每小题2分,满分10分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。 Although plastic bags are a convenient and widely ased part of our everyday lives, they are also a major cause of environmental pollution.31. .
