Teach new words (1) Beijing Show a picture of the Forbidden City in Beijing on the multimedia. T: Look at this picture. Do you know where it is? Yes, it's in Beijing. Beijing is our capital city. It has many famous places, like the Forbidden City, the Great Wall. Now, let's read the word together. B - e - i - j - i - n - g, Beijing. Ask students to repeat several times. (2) Shanghai Play a short video about the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. T: Look at this tall tower. It's in Shanghai. Shanghai is a very modern and big city in China. There are many high - rise buildings. How to spell Shanghai? S - h - a - n - g - h - a - i, Shanghai. Ask students to read after the teacher. (3) Guangzhou Show a picture of Canton Tower in Guangzhou. T: This is Guangzhou. Guangzhou is famous for its delicious food, like dim sum. The word is spelled G - u - a - n - g - z - h - o - u, Guangzhou. Let students practice reading. (4) Hong Kong Show a picture of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. T: Hong Kong is a very special city in China. It's a special administrative region. Look at this beautiful harbour. Hong Kong is famous for shopping and finance. It's spelled H - o - n - g - K - o - n - g, Hong Kong. Pay attention to the pronunciation of "Hong Kong", especially the "K" sound. Ask students to repeat. (5) Macau Show a picture of the Ruins of St. Paul's in Macau. T: Macau is also a special administrative region in China. It has a lot of European - style buildings. Macau is spelled M - a - c - a - u, Macau. Let students read the word several times. 2. Word - card recognition game Show the city word - cards one by one quickly, and let students read the words as quickly as possible. (三)Practice 1.
