If they drive too fast, it will be very difficult to stop the cars in a very short time. For pedestrians (行人), it’s very important to be careful when they are walking on the road. Therefore, when we walk across the road, we must try to walk along the pavements (人行道). We must stop and look both sides before crossing the road. Look left first, next look right, and then look left again. Only when we are sure that the road is clear, can we cross it. The right way to cross the road is to walk quickly. It’s not safe to run. If people run across the road, they may fall down. Students should try to help children, old people or blind people to cross the road, and never play in the street.

II. 听填信息
本题你将听到一段独白,读两遍。请根据独白内容,用所听到的信息完成下列各题。(每空不超过三个单词。)
Four students from Class 3, Grade 8 were on sick leave today. They were Linda, Sam, Sara and Jack. Linda sat in front of the TV for too long and had a sore back, so Dr. Brian told her to watch less TV and stand up and walk more. Sam was running in the hot sun and then he fell down and hurt one of his hands, so Dr. Brian let him wash the cut and put some medicine on it. And Sara had a bad cold. The doctor said that she was too weak and she should exercise more and eat more healthily. As for Jack, he was just afraid of the exam. The doctor told him not to worry too much. And he should drink some milk and get enough sleep.
