Without any hesitation,Henry was determined to help the stranger. He lifted the woman with all his

might and settled her in the back seat of his car.Noticing she was shivering from the cold,Henry tured up his car
heater to warm the freezing woman.Eventually,he brought the woman to a hospital in the town.Exactly as he
had suspected, the nurses immediately recognized the woman. They revealed that the woman had Alzheimer's
disease, which led her to have trouble in communicating and always fail to find her way home.Having hearing
that,Henry knew he really did the right thing. After that,Henry made his way home immediately.
Upon his arrival,it was late at night and Henry became more uneasy. He parked the car in the driveway
and entered his house. There was no sign that there had been any celebration,as everything for the birthday party
was well organized.Seeing her father return safe and sound,Leslie ran into his arms happily. He apologized to her
that he couldn't make it to her party on time.Little did Leslie care about that.Turning around,"I'msorry I was
away for so long,but I didn't plan to be,"he said,expecting an annoyed response.Nevertheless,he got a hug
instead from his wife who was proud of her husband's kind gesture. The couple then celebrated their daughter's
birthday joyfully late at night.

Rehan Staton recently found out he was accepted to Harvard Law School. For him, the
sky's the limit, but it wasn't always that way.
The 24-year-old college student was raised by a single father who worked three different
jobs, breaking his back. But, despite his father's best efforts, financial burdens steadily
mounted. Staton's study had suffered but he kept pushing himself forward. He said growing up
was tough and he used to struggle in school. One teacher even suggested he switch to a special
education class.
But with help from a free tutor, Staton's grades improved. He continued to improve
academically while training to be a professional boxer in high school. However, his choices for
college dwindled after suffering an injury, which ruined the chances of him turning
professional in sports. He was rejected from every school he applied to.
So to help support his family, Staton took a job collecting trash at a local sanitation
company, which he said changed his life in ways he never imagined. "Most of my coworkers
were formerly imprisoned. So, it caught me by surprise how much the people on the bottom of
the society uplifted me and really wanted me to make something of myself." he told the
reporter. "They encouraged me to reapply to college. They had nothing but uplifting words for
me and my future."
Through persistence, he took the LSAT and applied to nine schools-getting accepted to
five. Ultimately, he decided to commit to Harvard Law School-and he'll never forget all the
people who helped him get there. "Throughout this time, people ask me, 'How did you do it?

The sharing economy has grown in recent years to include everything from apartment
sharing to car sharing to community tool sharing. Since 2oo9, a new form of sharing economy
has been emerging in neighborhoods throughout the US and around the world---Little Free
Library. The libraries are boxes placed in neighborhoods where residents can take out and put
in books. Little Free Libraries come in all shapes and sizes. Some libraries also have themes,
focusing on books for children, adults or tour guides.
In 2oo9, Tod Bol built the first Little Free Library as a gift to his mother, who was a
devoted reader. When he saw the people of his community gathering around it,exchanging
conversation as well as books, he knew he wanted to take his simple idea further."I think Little
Free Libraries open the door to conversations we want to have with each other," Bol said.
Since then, his idea has become a movement, spreading from state to state and country to
country. According to Little Free Library.org, there are now 18,ooo of the little structures
around the world, located in each of the 50 US states and 70 countries in Europe, Africa and
Asia.
The Internet has helped to spread Little Free Libraries. But an Atlantic article says the
little structures serve as a cure for a world of e-reader downloads. The little wooden boxes are
refreshingly physical and human. For many people, the sense of discovery is Little Free
Libraries' main appeal. "A girl walking home from school might pick up a graphic novel that
gets her excited about reading: a man on his way to the bus stop might find a volume of poetry
that changes his outlook on life,"says the Atlantic article."Every book is a potential source of
inspiration."
28. How do Little Free Libraries get their books?
A. The communities bought them.
B. The US government provided them.
C. Tod Bol donated them
D. Local people shared them.
29. Why did Tod Bol want to build more Little Free Libraries?
A.To help people in the community communicate often.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of China's first manned space mission, with Yang
Liwei becoming the first Chinese astronaut to go to space. Since then, another 19 astronauts
have reached for the stars. The selection of the fourth generation of astronauts began in 2022
and is now in full swing. Experts revealed how tough the training is before astronauts can fly to
space.
The human body is not designed for space life. Astronauts are faced with multiple
challenges on a space mission. The changes in gravity can have an impact on their bodies. The
sensation of confinement(封闭)living in a small spacecraft for months can damage their mental
health. Emergencies during missions challenge their knowledge and ability to solve problems
under huge pressure. So it's no wonder that astroaauts have to meet extremely high standards
and go through a tough training program.
To make sure that Chinese astronauts complete their missions and return to Earth safely,
"Eight types, including over 20o subjects of training, were set," Huang Weifen, chief designer
of the astronaut system for China's manned space project, told CCTV News. Apart from
physical fitness training, it also includes basic scientific theories, psychological health, and
mock(模拟)missions.
Among the training subjects, the most tiring one is underwater training. This training is
designed for astronauts to adapt to the microgravity environment in space. According to
Huang, astronauts stay underwater in suits weighing over 10o kilograms for six hours at a time
Water resistance(阻力)and the heavy suit make every move exhausting. "Nie Haisheng, one of
the astronauts, once reported a two-kilogramn loss in weight after one underwater training
exercise," said Huang. Each astronaut receives training for at least three and a half years
before having the chance to go to space.
32. How many generations of Chinese astronauts have been sent to space?
A.3
B.4
C. 19
D. 20
33. Which of following is true according to paragraph 2?
A. Human body is perfect for space exploration.
B. The spacecraft has enough space for astronauts to operate.
C. Astronauts ought to complete missions under huge pressure.
D. The isolated condition in space benefits people's mental health.
34. Why did Huang mention Nie Haisheng's two-kilogram weight loss?
A. To stress how challenging the training is.
B. To describe Nie's personal chievements.
C. To introduce the weight limit for astronauts
