A few weeks ago, someone posted a photo on my small town's community webpage. It was of the construction site of our new childcare facility. I commented on the photo because it had a very large, permanent sign with the American spelling of a word. About 15 years ago in Calgary, my two children started attending a branded elementary school. The poor spelling on the school sign made me concerned. Languages are living things and we should be careful. Correct spelling from childhood can set a good habit for life.

A. It was put in a wrong place.
B. The words couldn't be read clearly.

27. What is the text mainly about?

Yellowstone National Park withdrew more than 10,000 visitors after a flood. Roads and bridges were washed away, and the park's gateway communities were cut off from roads. Scientists and managers recognize the significance of the flood. While it will take more research to confirm if climate change made the flood more extreme, the 2021 Greater Yellowstone Climate Assessment predicts more annual precipitation in the region. Changes have been already recorded in the snowpack. June precipitation this year is also expected to be higher than normal. As temperatures rise, the rain - snow events are projected to become more frequent at higher latitudes in western North America, while lower snowpack will make them less intense. Bruce Stein, chief scientist of the park, said the park needs to take preventative steps like building bioswales and culverts. Roads and bridges need to be rebuilt and strengthened. It's urgent and necessary for the park to prepare for future climate change.
28. What do we know about the flood?
A. It's the most destructive one ever.
B. It has been predicted successfully.

29. What does the underlined word “doubled” in Paragraph 3 mean?
