教学设计 课程基本信息 学科 英语 年级 高一 学期 春季 课题 Unit4 Scientists who changed the world (Period1) 教学目标 Core Competencies: 1.Language ability: 1) Read a newspaper, and master its structure and language features . 2) Write a simple news report and assess the writing using the checklist. 2.Learning ability: Pick up detailed information such as the expressions for appearance and qualities. 3.Culture awareness: Know about Tu Youyou’s life experiences and the research process of Qinghaosu. 4.Thinking quality: 1)Analyse Tu’s qualities and reasons why she can be awarded the Nobel Prize. 2)Collect,summarize useful information and analyse the reasons for scientists’ success and their outstanding qualities,reflecting what kinds of people we should learn from. 教学重难点 Teaching important points: 1. Analyze and help students understand the structure of a news report. 2. Help student know about the connotation of the spirit of the scientists, and guide them to learn from them Teaching difficult points: 1.Guide students to work out the structure of a news report and know about the basic content of the headline and the lead part. 2.Help students write a headline and the lead for a news report. 教学过程 Ι.Lead in Teacher greets the students and ask them to read an ancient poem:呦呦鹿鸣,食野之蒿. Questions:1) Have you heard it ? 2) Do you know the connection between Tu Youyou and the herb? 设计意图:由《诗经.小雅.鹿鸣》中的一句引出今天故事的主人公--屠呦呦。不仅让学生了解屠呦呦名字额来由,而且将屠呦呦与“蒿”这个与她一生都有这密切联系的植物引出来,为接下来的课做好铺垫。 Ⅱ.Enjoy a short video. 设计意图:视频分成两部分,第一部分简述屠呦呦生平故事,第二部分是屠呦呦获得诺贝尔奖时的盛况及她的获奖感言,主要为了让学生对屠呦呦的生平和主要贡献有初步了了解。 Ⅲ.Reading. 1.Genre illustration: Where would you most probably find this passage? A. In a magazine B.In a novel C.In a letter D.In a newspaper 解答:D.The title of a news report includes “who and what“information.Meanwhile, it tells us the date and the reporter. 设计意图:本文是一篇新闻报道,所以,在让学生阅读本文前,让学生浏览文章,分析题目内容和特点等方面来了解文章体裁,掌握新闻报道的突出特点,为接下来新闻报道的结构分析打好基础。 2.Structure illustration It is essential to know the structure of the news report before you read or even write a report .The structure includes: Headline: It tells what the story is about. Lead: It tells about the writer of the story. Body: Includes more information and details. Ending: Talks about the solution or something to think about. Inverted Pyramid 倒金字塔结构 Supplies more details Talks about the solution Who-what-when-where-why Covers the most important facts Sums up the story & catches the reader’s attention 设计意图:此部分采用直接讲述的方法,让学生了解新闻报道的详细构成。一篇新闻报道主要由四个部分组成--标题,导语,正文,和结尾。通过讲述每个部分的特点,让学生更进一步了解新闻报道是一个按照所报道的事件的重要性依次排列的“倒金字塔”结构。 3.Reading for structure Activity1. Read the passage and try to find out the four parts of the news report----the headline, the lead,the body and the ending, summarizing its main idea for each part. Chinese scientist wins 2015 Nobel Prize headline Para. 1: Tu Youyou won a Nobel Prize in 2015 for her discovery of qinghaosu. Part1 The Lead(Para1) Para.2:Tu Youyou acquired a broad knowledge of both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. .Part2 The Body (para2-5) Para.3-5: Tu Youyou and her team solved a lot of problems before they successfully discovered qinghaosu. Part3 The Ending(Para6) Para.6 Tu Youyou and her team’s efforts finally paid off. 设计意图:此活动是为了让学生将理论变为实践。在了解了新闻的四部分构成后,利用所学到的知识读新闻,并把文章按照新闻的四个构成部分一一在文中找出并概括大意。 Activity2. The headline Question: What information does it tell us? Students will read the headline and find out “who” and “what” information.Meanwhile, students try to feel the features of a news report headline. 设计意图:此活动让学生发现新闻标题的特点,以及包含哪些有用的信息。 Activity3. The lead Read para1 and get useful information on Who-What-When-Where-Why. By Dina Conner 11 December 2015 Tu Youyou has become the first female scientist of the People ' s Republic of China to receive a Nobel Prize , awarded for her contribution to the fight against malaria , one of the deadliest diseases in human history . Thanks to her discovery of qinghaosu , malaria patients all over the world now have had a greatly increased chance of survival. Questions: 1.Who was involved in the event ? 2.What was the event? 3.When did it took place? 4.Why did the event happen? 5.What features does the news report have? 设计意图:新闻导语是新闻报道中重要的组成部分,本活动的设计旨在让学生了解并掌握新闻报道中导语包含的具体内容,以及每个内容的作用,为接下来学生读新闻报道,甚至是写新闻报道提供提供了理论基础。 Activity4: The Body Read para3-para5 to find out the problems Tu Youyou and her team met and solutions they made while finding a cure for malaria. Problemss The extracts failed to produce any promising results. Tu got inspiration from a 1600-year-old text and redesigned the experiments. They couldn’t produce enough qinghao extract. Tu and her team used household water containers to extract herbs. The trials on patients may be postponed. Tu and her team volunteered to test qinghao extract on themselves. solutions 设计意图:新闻的主体部分包含了许多细节信息,通过让学生精读这部分内容并完成该活动,是让学生掌握屠呦呦女士从发现青蒿素,到以身试药成功治疗疟疾的全过程,从而让学生体会到屠呦呦及其团队的艰辛和伟大。 Activity5: Discussion What valuable spiritual qualities does Tu Youyou have? What spirit of scientists can be reflected from Tu’s qualities? 设计意图:这两个问题的设计是为了提高学生的文化意识与思维品质的能力。问题一的设计是为了让学生在读完屠呦呦的新闻报道之后,总结屠呦呦身上带有的优秀品质,引导学生积极探索屠呦呦获得成功的多方面原因,同时,也为第二个问题---科学家精神的提出做好铺垫。 问题二的设计旨在让学生学习了屠呦呦的事迹之后,从她的优秀品质中可以折射出伟大科学家们所拥有的“科学家精神”,让学生知道“科学家精神”的内涵是什么?正是“科学家精神”才使他们拥有伟大的成就。 附:Connotation of the Spirit of Scientists 科学家精神的内涵 Patriotism of serving the nation and the people , 胸怀祖国、服务人民的爱国精神, Innovative spirit of climbing the peak and daring to be the first , 勇攀高峰、敢为人先的创新精神, Realistic spirit of seeking truth a rigorous scholarship, 追求真理、严谨治学的求实精神, Dedicative spirit of devoting to science rather than fame or wealth , 淡泊名利、潜心研究的奉献精神, Cooperative spirit of working together to solve problems , 集智攻关、团结协作的协同精神, Educational spirit of encouraging students and serving as their ladder. 甘为人梯、奖掖后学的育人精神。 Ⅳ.Moral education infiltration 1) The speech of President Xi Jinping. 2) Tu Youyou was awarded the Medal of the Republic. 3) Other five scientists who won the honor. 4) They set good examples for our young generations . We should learn from them. 设计意图:这个部分的设计是本节课的升华部分,不仅仅是对本堂课内容的概括,更是老师想要通过这些伟大的科学家对青年一代道德品质的指引。作为青年人,学习科学家们的爱国精神、创新精神,求实精神,奉献精神,合作精神,育人精神。以英雄为榜样,学习他们忠诚、执着、朴实的品格。 Ⅴ.Homework Writing task. Suppose you were a reporter from the school newspaper, please write an English news report to introduce a respectable teacher or a student you learn from. Approximately 100 words. 设计意图:在学习了新闻的基本结构,读完一整篇屠呦呦的新闻报道后,学生可以利用今天所学知识写一篇简单的新闻报道。一方面巩固做学知识,两一方面可以提高写作能力。 Ⅵ.Summary of instructional design. 本微课教学目标明确,围绕一篇关于 “屠呦呦获得2015年诺贝尔医学奖”的新闻报道这一主题,从“新闻报道的基本结构”和“屠呦呦之所以成为伟大的科学家所拥有的精神品质以及她反映出的科学家精神 ”两个层面展开教学设计,教学内容符合学生的基本需要。在教学设计中,采用基于问题的一系列学习活动,坚持以学生为中心的教学原则。设计了提出问题,分析问题到解决问题的一系列活动,课件中还插入了视频,流程图,让学生更直观理解所学内容,提高他们理解文章的能力。同时,“科学家精神”的内涵的展示可以让学生看到许许多多科学家之所以会成功是因为他们身上都具有共同的精神品质。 备注:教学设计应至少含教学目标、教学内容、教学过程等三个部分,如有其它内容,可自行补充增加。 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
