Lead out the sentences with ‘must’ and ‘have to’. (1) He was adoped(收养) by Claude, a bad guy. So he had to do everything Claude asked him to. (2)He thought he must do something right. 3.Ask students to discuss the differences between “must” and “have to” 4. Explain to the students that we use ‘must’ when the speaker feels that something is necessary. We use ‘have to’ when the situation makes something necessary. 5. Show students two more sentences. (1)What a poor man! If he was born in a happy family, he did not have to do what Claude asked him to. (2)And when Claude did something bad, he may say‘You mustn’t do it.’ 6.Explain to the students we use ‘must not’ to say something is not allowed..
