Step 1: Warming up
1. Greet the students and have a free talk about their weekends.

2. Show some pictures of different places in a neighbourhood and ask students to name them.
Step 2: Presentation
1. Present the new words
Show pictures or use gestures to introduce the new words: grocery store, downtown, entrance, coffee, himself, through
Have students repeat the words after the teacher and practice in pairs.
2. Lead-in the text
Ask students: Have you ever lost your way? What do you do if someone asks you for directions?
Then tell students that today we will learn a story about a boy who is looking for the way to a movie theatre.
Step 3: Reading
1. Fast reading
Have students read the text quickly and answer the following questions:
Who are going to see a movie?
Where is the movie theatre?
Check the answers with the students.
2. Careful reading
Have students read the text carefully again and do the exercises in Let's Do It! Part 2.
Decide whether the statements are true (T) or false (F).
1. Danny and Brian are going to see a movie downtown. (T)
2. Brian doesn't know the way to the movie theatre. (T)
3. Danny wrote out the directions for Brian in an e-mail. (F)
