序数词的构成

序数词是由基数词变化而来。
1-19的序数词:
除第一(first),第二(second)和第三(third)之外,
其他的序数词是由基数词加后缀-th构成的。如:第四 fourth,第六 sixth,第七 seventh等。
2) 逢十的序数词的构成方法:
先将“几十”的基数词的词尾-ty变为-tie再加th。如:
第20-twentieth,第30-thirtieth,第40-fortieth。
3) 两位数的序数词如果包含1-9的个位数,十位数用基数词,个位数用序数词。如:第21(twenty-first),第34(thirty-fourth)等。
4) 百、千、万的序数词:
直接在相对应的基数词后面 + th。
第100(hundredth),第1000(thousandth)等。
基数词变序数词口诀
基变序,有规律,词尾加上th;
一、二、三特别记(first, second, third)
八加h(eight), 九去e(ninth), ve 要用f 替(fifth,twelfth)
y变ie,最后再加th(twentieth, thirtieth,fortieth…)
若是遇到几十几,仅变个位就可以(twenty-first, ninety-ninth…)

03 序数词用法
序数词的前面
一般要用定冠词 the
表示第几。
例:
You are the second one to know the way.
你是第二个知道方法的人。

即the+序数词+ 名词,=“ 名词 + 基数词 ”

1)分数是由基数词作分子,序数词作分母构成的。
除了分子是"1"的情况外,序数词都要用复数。

【注意】一些特殊的分数表达法:
a half 二分之一 a quarter =one fourth 四分之一
2)分数在句子中作主语的时候,谓语动词的单、复数形式由of后面的名词来决定。
如果of后面的名词是可数名词的复数形式,谓语动词用复数形式;
如果of后面的名词是不可数名词,谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。如:
It is said that two thirds of information on the Internet is not true.
据说互联网上三分之二的信息是不真实的。

用于表示提请求、邀请,或者希望对方作出肯定回答的疑问句中 Will you give me some bananas?

any 用于疑问句、否定句中
可修饰可数、不可数名词 Do you have any friends at school?
用于肯定句中,表示"任何" He studies harder than any of his classmates.
用于条件状语从句中 Please raise your hand if you have any question.
注意:some,any +of…结构作主语时,谓语动词根据of后面的名词单复数而定。
如:some of the food has got bad.

both “两者都”,修饰或替代可数名词复数,作主语时,谓语动词用复数。

either “两者中的任何一个” I have two tickets.
Either you or your brother can go with me.
neither “两者都不”,表示全部否定。 Neither of us are your teachers.
我们两个都不是你的老师。

others =“other +可数名词复数”
泛指其他的人或物。另一些。常与some一起出现。 Some went to the park,others visited the museum.
the others =“the other +可数名词复数”
特指一定范围内其余的所有人或物。 Five students are English,the others are Chinese.

What can you make with pieces of paper? Look at Chen Yiyan’s works! The 14-year-old is good at paper-folding at Hangzhou Foreign Language School, Zhejiang. He has folded a “kingdom (王国)” with his hands. But he wasn’t born with this ability.
Chen started paper folding when he was a fourth-grader after seeing a book from his brother. Following the 50 steps shown in the book, he made his first work, a paper peacock (孔雀), within two hours.
