Before this trip, I was nervous and 2 at first. I’m afraid of speaking to others in English and I have to 3 myself. However, all these exchange experiences helped me 4 my living skills at last.
If someone asks me about the secret of having a fantastic exchange experience, I would say the willingness (意愿) to 5 is the key. I tried to talk with others and took part in school activities as many as I could. After that, I became much more 6 and brave to talk with strangers.
With my friends’ help at the school, I could get used to school life quickly as well and it made the experience truly amazing. They cooked 7 food for me, taught me how to play volleyball, and took me to football games. My friends’ family 8 asked me to a trip to the beach. They showed me how they lived as a family and taught me a lot about British culture. It was one of the most valuable 9 I had.
Life here wouldn’t go well unless we tried really hard. I came from a different country, culture, and language 10 I build strong friendship with them. It is not possible if I don’t treat them with all my heart!

Now more and more children seem to get lost in a “sea of digital technology (数字技术)”. As they use digital technology too much, they are losing their 1 to do easy things. They can’t make toys themselves with hands or help Mum cook dinner. And worst of all, they seem to become less 2 in talking with others.
“I have talked with a number of teachers. Instead of playing with other children, more and more children are choosing to stay indoors and 5 play on a tablet (平板电脑) on weekends and after school. How can a child grow up to be a very good 6 if he doesn’t learn how to use a paintbrush and develop his painting skill? How can a child learn to make friends as he gets older if he doesn’t learn to 7 with others at a young age?
Digital technology can be used for good or bad. We can use a stone to either break a window or 8 a house. We shouldn’t blame (责备) the children. We should help them make right choices. It is certainly 9 for children to know how to use digital technology in today’s world. But what’s more, we should 10 them to develop social (社交的) abilities. It will do them good when they grow up.

As we know, a mobile phone can be very useful. It’s one of the greatest 1 in the world. It’s the most convenient way for us to know what’s going on in the world and the fastest way to get in touch with somebody we need. Mobile phones have been playing an important 2 in our lives. And we can have great fun playing with it.
But things are different in 3 . The Chinese Ministry of Education issued (颁布) some rules on mobile phones for middle school students. In SFLEG we also have strict rules about this. So what should middle school students do with mobile phones?
Well, to answer this question, we need to know about the downside of using a mobile phone. To start with, it can be very bad for 4 health. People who use mobile phones 5 a long time usually have problems with their necks and eyes. Scientists say the wrong way of using mobile phones can even change the user’s face. So it is 6 to limit (限制) the time of using a mobile phone.
Secondly, students don’t really need to use the phone in class. 7 being helpful, the phone is actually (事实上) getting in the way (阻碍) of the students’ learning. It’s hard for them to focus on the lesson and they can’t listen to the teacher 8 . Some argue that students can find some correct answers with the phone, but we need to realize that they can do that at home, not at school. School is the place where students learn to cooperate with each other.
Last but not least, many students use mobile phones to play online games and they 9 lots of money for playing the games. It’s not their money, but their parents’ money. And usually their parents know nothing about how their money is spent. There have been 10 law cases about this.
To sum up, we should all learn to use our mobile phones wisely. Don’t turn this great helper into a fun-killer.
