The journey of growth is full of challenges. I have changed a lot in
the past three years. I used to be shy and didn't dare to talk in public, but
one thing makes me grow up.
It was my first time to present a speech to a large audience in my
school. On that day, I was so nervous that my heart was beating
extremely fast. Questions like "What should I do if I forget my lines?"
flooded into my mind. However, these worries vanished into thin air as
soon as I walked onto the stage. I took a deep breath and started to
speak. To my joy, I successfully completed the speech.
Thanks to that special experience, I've learnt that when we face
difficulties courageously, we can discover our true potential.

Trees are one of our best friends. They help keep the air clean, stop noise pollution, improve water
quality and provide food and building materials
Just like us, trees change a lot as they grow. At one to three years old, young trees learn how tc
protect themselves, For example, many trees grow thorns (刺) to warn animals not to go near. When
trees are four years old they begin to grow very quickly and become strong enough to face challenges
later in life. At the age of 15, trees become young adults. They grow more slowly and begin to produce
flowers and fruit.
The tree doesn't become a real adult until it is 20 to 25 years old. The tree reaches its largest size
Not only does the adult tree give us shade (树荫), oxygen (氧气) and natural beauty, it is also a great
place for a tree house, or a place for us to read a book, listen to music or drink tea. If the adult tree
receives proper care, it may continue to live healthily for over 10o years. Gradually, trees begin to grow
older and older and even die. However, they still have their important place in nature.
In many ways, the life of a tree is similar to our own life experience. When looking at the life of a
tree, we learn that each period of life brings its own form of joy. Enjoy every minute of it and take care
of the trees!

Table tennis has been played for many years and is popular around the world. The sport is
beginner -friendly, But it also keeps a rich level of competitive play. However, it's difficult for blind
people to experience the joy of this sport
Phoebe Peng, an engineering student in Australia, invented a new instrument to help the blind play
ping- pong using sound. She installed(安装)cameras and loudspeakers on sides of a traditional ping

information into sound, which was played through the loudspeakers. The blind players could use the
sound to know the ball's location, and then they could return the ball fast and correctly
Peng showed her work on December 6th at the Acoustics 2o23 Sydney. It was held from
December 4th to December 8th at the International Convention Center Sydney

No matter what you want to do with your life, you'll need an education first. You make your own
future. You want to be a doctor, a teacher, or a sportsman? A good education is required for every
single one of those careers (职业). And what you're learning in school today will decide whether your
country can meet the greatest challenge in the future
The truth is that being successful is hard. Some of the most successful people in the world are the
ones who've had the most failures(失败). For example, the first book of J.K. Rowling, the writer of
Harry Potter, was refused 12 times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was once kicked off
his high school basketball team. He lost hundreds of games and thousands of shots during his career
But he said, "I have failed over and over again in my life. But that's why I succeed."
These people succeeded because they didn't let their failures define (定 义)themselves but to teach
themselves. So if you get a bad grade, that doesn't mean you're stupid. Instead, you need to spend
more time studying
I expect you try your best to do everything. So don't let us down, don't let your family or country
down. Most importantly, don't let yourself down
