In Western culture, the bee is a symbol of diligence(勤劳). Since the ancient Greek period, the bee has been regarded as(被视为)a representative(代表) of diligence. For example, in some ancient fables(寓言故事), the bee is depicted as(被描述成) being busy all day long, flying from one flower to another to actively collect nectar(花蜜). These fables use the behavior of the bee to teach people to work hard and not be lazy. Therefore, when describing a person who is extremely diligent, the expression "as busy as a bee" is often used.

Complete the paragraph with the animal idioms. (P72) (work in pairs)
English idioms are a way of adding colour to the language. For example, instead of saying “It’s raining heavily”, you could say “1_____________________”. Another reason to use idioms is that they are concise. For example, to describe someone who is always working or busy doing something, we can say they are 2 ________________ .
If they’re rushing into something and should wait and be patient, you could say “3 ______________ ”. Learning idioms can be fun, especially when we compare them to Chinese equivalents. Take, for example, “4________________________ ”(people do what they want and have fun when someone in authority is absent) and “5 ________________________ ” (solve two problems with one action) – are there corresponding idioms in Chinese?
