The analysis of the teaching material： This lesson is the writing part of Unit 6 and this is about a restaurant review. II. The analysis of the students: Students in Grade 9 have the passion to learn something new and useful, and they are eager to express themselves and do something by themselves, but they are a little weak in writing. They don’t know how to write a composition correctly. They are afraid to make mistakes. So the teacher’s role is to provide them with encouragement and instructions in order to make them write a composition correctly and make them active in class. III. Teaching aim: The knowledge objective: To grasp the useful words and phrases related to the review. Key words: title, serve, pound, pie, chip, service, seat Key phrases: be prepared to The ability objectives: 1. To enable the students to talk in English about the review by using pictures. 2. When is it ? 2. What can we eat on this day? 3. How can you celebrate Thanksgiving Day? Where do you want to celebrate Thanksgiving Day? To lead today’s topic: eating in a restaurant Pre-writing Part A: Brainstorming Brainstorm the question : What can attract you to go to the same restaurant again? Part B: give students three restaurants to choose one to have dinner and fill in the blanks. Which kind of food can they eat in each restaurant? Then, have a chain question. 1. Which restaurant do you want to go? 2. Who do you want to go with? 3. When do you want to go? Part C: let students guess which restaurant has the most expensive food, then do a pair work.
