单元主题(音乐与舞蹈)阅读理解18篇
(23-24九年级上·河南商丘·期中)Do you know digital (数字) technology? To keep traditional Chinese music forever, we need to depend on it.
Recently, a digital protection project for traditional Chinese instrumental music was produced. The project planned to make traditional music alive again by using digital technology to save the original audio sources (原始音频源). Based on these sources, it is possible to create digital albums (专辑), social media mini-programs and game background music. These are ways of spreading and passing down music.
The first traditional instrument to get this kind of rebirth was an ancient set of bianzhong of Zenghouyi. As the largest set of bianzhong discovered in China, it needs many people to complete together during the play. This made it difficult for team members to start their job. To perfectly restore the sounds of it, the team members thought for a long time. And they tried many times, too. Yang Jie, a designer from the team said, “At first, we tried to find the proper place to put the recording microphone after reading a lot of papers and historical information. But only when we were on the scene did we realize how hard this job was.”
So far, they’ve used the bianzhong sounds in a new album. It includes 9 songs designed to make your heart warm with traditional Chinese music.

(24-25九年级上·江苏扬州·阶段练习)When I was a teenager, my parents were never interested in the music I liked. They said to me, “David, the music you like listening to is a lot of noise.” At the same time, my father regularly described the music that he liked as beautiful. As it turns out, they are not alone. As I grow older, I’ve often heard people of my age say, “Today’s music is terrible.” Many older people just don’t like new music. But why is that?
The mere exposure effect may explain this. It means the more familiar we are with something, the more likely we are to prefer it. When we are in our early teens, we usually spend a lot of time listening to popular music and discussing it with our friends. The new songs and singers during this time become familiar to us. After we turn 30 years old, we are busy working and raising our families. We don’t have so much time to look for new music. Instead, we prefer to listen to our old favorites. According to studies, by the time we turn 33 years old, most of us will completely stop exploring new music.
But I think there is another reason for older people’s dislike of new music. Most new music, after all, is not written for them. It is made for young people. Some types of music began as a rebellion (反抗) by young people against out-of-date ways of doing things. These types include punk, rap, hip-hop, heavy metal and more. They naturally interest younger listeners.
Do your parents dislike the music you like, too? Now, after reading this article, you know there is nothing wrong with that.
1.Why do many older people dislike new music?
①Because the new music sounds terrible.
②Because they are afraid of noise.
③Because most new music is not written for them.
④Because they are not familiar with the new music.

2.What does the underlined word “that” refer to in the last paragraph?
A.Younger people’s dislike of new music.
B.The meaning of the mere exposure effect.
C.New music’s attention to younger listeners.
D.The fact that your parents dislike the music you like.
3.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.All new music is written for young people.
B.Most people no longer explore new music at the age of 33.
C.Teenagers usually spend a lot of time watching popular TV series.
D.Today’s music is terrible in all people’s eyes.
4.Which can be the best title for the passage?
A.Why don’t your parents like the music you like?

C.When do most young people stop exploring new music?

Scientists have found that music can be good for health and education. It helps relieve stress, sadness and nervousness, wakes up the body and improves memory and thoughts.
Scientists have been using Mozart’s music, especially his violin pieces, to help disabled children. Mozart is often chosen because his music is not over-exciting. (23-24九年级上·河南南阳·期中)Do you have difficulty falling asleep at night? If so, here is a piece of advice for you: Listen to some soft music.
Scientists have found that soft music can help to improve sleep quality and quantity (量). This works for sleepers of all ages, and even for those with sleeping problems. So music can help us fall asleep better, wake up less during the night and feel more relaxed in the morning. You may not notice the effects (功效) overnight, though. It could take as many as 3 weeks to see any improvements.
Why can soft music help us sleep better? The reasons aren’t clear yet. It may connect with the relaxing effect of a good song. Music can have real physical effects, too. Soft music can lower our heart rate (心率) and slow down our breathing. This prepares us for sleep.
Scientists say that for most people, music that has 70 beats (节拍) per minute (bpm) works best. Classical, jazz and folk music are usually more effective than other musical styles. Familiar songs work well, too. You may need to test to make your own playlists. If you are not sure how many beats a song has in a minute, you can find out by entering its title into songbpm.com. And remember to get volume (音量) right. Make sure that the final piece is gradually slowing down. Or you may be woken up by the sudden silence.
It’s very important to get enough high quality sleep. Before you go to bed tonight, play some soft music. Then, just prepare to be rocked off to dreamland.

(23-24九年级上·江苏苏州·阶段练习)If you ever have the desire to break out into song in the shower, in the car, maybe at your neighbor’s karaoke night—you should embrace it whole-heartedly. This ancient art not only makes you feel good, but it can also improve your well-being, reduce your feelings of pain, and even extend your life.
Using your voice to sing, rather than simply carrying out a conversation, offers unique benefits because singing affects our bodies. Also, studies link singing with a lower heart rate decreased blood pressure and reduced stress according to Patricia Preston-Roberts, a music therapist (治疗师). She uses the song to help patients who suffer from a variety of problems.
Singing, particularly in a group, seems to benefit the elderly particularly well. As part of a three-year study examining how singing affects the health of those fifty-five and older, a Senior Singers Chorus was formed by the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C. The seniors involved in the chorus, as well as seniors in two separate arts groups about writing and painting, showed significant health improvements compared to those in the control groups (控制组). Obviously, the arts groups reported thirty fewer doctors’ visits, fewer eyesight problems, less depression, and less need for medication.
Even lead researcher Dr. Gene. D.Cohen director of the Center on aging at George Washington University, was surprised at how big an effect the seniors’ arts participation had on their health. Cohen said, “The average age of all the subjects was eighty. This is higher than life expectancy. So, if an effect were to be achieved, one would ordinarily expect to see less decline (下降) compared to the control group. The fact that there was so much improvement in many areas was the surprising factor.” The seniors also noticed health improvements and they reported feeling better both in daily life and while singing.
The part of the brain that works with speech is different from the part that processes music. “People seem to enjoy doing something jointly with other people. There are a lot of facts that being socially involved is good for people with dementia (老年痴呆).” Ballard said.
The arts are showing up as a treatment tool in hospitals across the country. If you are thinking of volunteering, singing at a hospital may be a good choice—not only for the patients, but also for yourself.
1.In the first paragraph the author ________.
A.expresses a desire for singing B.offers some advice on singing
C.puts forward his point of view D.states the importance of health
2.Why was Cohen surprised at the results of the study?
A.The study was not as expensive as expected. B.People’s health in the arts group improved greatly.
C.Arts acted as a treatment tool in hospitals. D.The seniors themselves noticed health improvements.
3.What would be the best title for the passage?
A.How to Avoid Getting Dementia B.How Seniors Live a Healthy Life

(23-24九年级上·安徽六安·期末)Music is an art form that is enjoyed by people from all walks of life. The type and style may be different, but it is a central factor (因素) in many cultures. Whether in times of celebration or just in everyday life, music plays an important part in making life meaningful.
It is said that people in ancient times had songs they would sing as they worked. These songs would be passed from one generation (一代人) to the next. In a sense, they made work “easier”. Not as machines do, but it would help reduce people’s sense of difficulty when they were doing manual work.
It isn’t much different today as it is quite common for people to turn on the music while in the office. However, it is important that you know which type of music to listen to, so it doesn’t end up being opposite. If you are at work and need to learn something new, or you find that your workstation is a bit noisy, then you may want to turn on your music to reduce the distractions (分心的事). Music can add some flavour (滋味) that you need to plain daily work.
Many people consciously (有意识地) or unconsciously relax when they put on some comforting music. How does music make people relax? It is connected with the physical influence of music on the body-a welcome accompaniment (伴奏) in activities can relieve (缓解) stress.

(23-24九年级上·山东青岛·期中)How music takes us back to our past?
It’s happened to all of us: a song comes on the radio, and we may immediately think about a time in our past. But what is it that makes music so effective at doing this? There are a few things that link tunes (曲调) with our memories.
Paul Donoghue, writing for ABC News, reminds us that the emotional nature of music helps make it memorable. And Kelly Jakubowski, an assistant professor, adds that music and singing are often part of many important life events, they can also easily draw our attention. Then the music and these life events are likely to be encoded together in our memories. Music itself is easy to remember. Oral cultures (口述文明) have passed important knowledge from generation to generation through songs. The rhythm (节奏), melody (旋律) and alliteration in lyrics all serve as memory aids. Pop music especially can be about a special moment in time.
As Shahram Heshmat, writing in Psychology Today highlights, we often become familiar with a piece of music because we hear it as background music. Familianty is important. The more familiar a piece of music is, the more effective it is at bringing back memories because we like listening to a song over and over again better than watching a film or a TV program in the same time.
Heshmat points out that our musical preferences usually form during our teens, and this is connected with what many experts call the “reminiscence bump”, where we make our strongest memories between the ages of 10 and 30.

①Because the new music sounds terrible.
②Because they are afraid of noise.
③Because most new music is not written for them.
④Because they are not familiar with the new music.
A.①② B.②③ C.③④ D.②④
2.What does the underlined word “that” refer to in the last paragraph?
A.Younger people’s dislike of new music.
B.The meaning of the mere exposure effect.
C.New music’s attention to younger listeners.
D.The fact that your parents dislike the music you like.
3.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.All new music is written for young people.
B.Most people no longer explore new music at the age of 33.

(23-24九年级上·江西南昌·期中)If music makes you smart and exercise helps you to think, surely exercising to music can turn you into a person who is better at learning and understanding.
A team of scientists from a university did research on 33 volunteers. They found that people who exercised while listening to Italian musician Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons did much better in language ability test than without music.
The volunteers said they felt better after exercising with or without the music. But their improvement on the test doubled after listening to the music during exercise. “Exercise seems to cause great changes in the nervous system (神经系统) and have a direct result on learning ability,” said the scientist Charles Emery.
(2024·广东深圳·三模)“Singer 2024,” a music competition show by Mango TV, started on May 10. The show uses a “live- broadcast” format (形式) without any editing, which has caused a lot of discussion. It made people think about Chinese singers’ performances and showed the difference between China’s music industry and the rest of the world.
The first episode (集) had both international and Chinese singers. International singers like US singer Chanté Moore. and Canadian singer Faouzia, and Chinese singers like Na Ying, Wang Sulong, and Rainie Yang from Taiwan, were all part of the show. This mix was to attract different audiences.

(23-24九年级上·山东泰安·期中)Do you listen to the songs that your parents like? You probably think the music that they like is old and dull and the songs you like are much cooler.
But researchers at the University of Cambridge, the UK, collected data (资料) from more than 250,000 people over the past 10 years. They noticed that as people age, their social circumstances (环境) change, and so does their music taste. There are three musical periods that people pass through as they grow. The first period comes in the teenage years, during which time people like rock because people regard themselves as independent individuals (个体).
But as people move into early adulthood, their lifestyle changes—they get to know more people and want to build close relationships with others. As a result, they prefer pop which are often played at parties.
When middle age comes, people like to listen to jazz and classical. They also like country, folk, and blues, “During this period of life, many people often feel tired because of their work and family, and there is a requirement for relaxing and emotive (动情的) music.” said Jason Smith, a research member.

(24-25九年级上·天津和平·期中)If you visit some villages in the English countryside, you might be lucky to see morris dancing (莫里斯舞). People are not sure how old this kind of dancing is. Some think it started 2, 000 years ago, but most agree that morris dancing is probably about five centuries old.
Many agree that it celebrates traditional English farm life on holidays. Morris dancers wear traditional costumes. Usually, this is a white shirt, a bright jacket, a hat and small bells called “jingle bells”. There are different styles of morris dancing from different places around England.
In Cotswold morris, the dancers usually carry white handkerchiefs and sticks which they hit as they dance. Morris dancing styles from the north of England often use swords (剑) instead of sticks, and dancers can look a little like soldiers, which is different from southern styles. It is common in this style for men and women to dance together.
Border morris comes from the west of England, near the border with Wales. Dancers in this style usually wear normal clothes decorated with pieces of colorful paper, and sometimes they put black paint on their faces.

AI Helps Finish Famous Symphony (交响乐)
A special team of musicians and computer scientists used AI to try to complete Beethoven’s unfinished 10th Symphony. They wanted to come as close as possible to producing the symphony that Beethoven meant to write. The team turned every piece of music that Beethoven ever wrote into a form the computer could understand so that the AI could look for patterns in the way Beethoven wrote.
3D-printed Sculpture (雕像)
Michelangelo’s sculpture of David has a “twin”. A team of scientists and artists have created the most complete copy ever. Their first step was to create a special 3D scanner (扫描仪). Next, they used a huge 3D printer to 3D-print large sections of the sculpture. Once the pieces were put together, artists worked on perfecting every small place of it.
A band called the Flaming Lips tried something different: putting everyone at the concert in plastic bubbles (气泡). The band used 100 plastic bubbles large enough to hold 1 to 3 people. Each bubble came with a water bottle, a towel, a small fan, and a speaker to make sure the music could be heard clearly. The members of the band rolled over the crowd during the concert.
