Teaching Reflection In this class, teaching the reading passage “The Storm Brought People Closer Together” was a fulfilling experience. The students were engaged throughout the 45-minute lesson. The pre-reading prediction activity helped activate their prior knowledge and set the stage for understanding the text. During the while-reading stage, the skimming and scanning tasks allowed students to develop their reading skills. They were able to grasp the main idea quickly and find specific information in the passage. The detailed reading analysis of key sentences and phrases enhanced their understanding of the language used. The post-reading discussion was a highlight. Students actively participated and shared their thoughts on what can bring people closer together and how to help in times of difficulty. This activity not only improved their oral expression but also cultivated their sense of empathy and cooperation. However, there were also some areas that need improvement. Some students struggled with expressing their ideas in English fluently, indicating a need for more language practice. In future lessons, I will provide more opportunities for students to practice speaking and writing. Additionally, I could vary the teaching methods more to keep the students engaged and motivated throughout the lesson.
