内容分析
本板块包含读写结合的活动,主题是“分享关于一个道德故事的看法”(Share your opinions about a moral story)。阅读材料选取了一则寓言故事《挡道的石头》,讲述了一位国王为了唤醒民众的社会责任感,将下方藏有金币的一块大石头放在路中央,然后自己藏在树后,观察人们的反应。很多人抱怨石头带来的麻烦,但他们都没有解决这个问题。最后,一个年轻女孩搬走了石头,获得了金币和国王的赞扬。写作部分内容为在理解寓言故事的基础上写一篇故事评论,引导学生对故事进行由表及里的分析,理解其中隐含的深刻道理。

3.概括寓言故事的情节,并说出自己的感想。

活动一
1. 学生阅读教材Activity 1中的寓言故事,并回答以下三个实目标

2.教师引导学生对比故事中不同人对路中间石头的反应,思考并分组讨论以下三个问题。

(2)Do you like the fable?Why?
(3)What is your response to the stone in the road?
活动三
1.学生自主阅读并思考教材Activity 4表格中的问题。
2.教师引导学生回答问题,并依据问题答案归纳写故事评论。

2. 教师引导学生根据提示,写出教材Activity 1的寓言故事的故事评论初稿。
活动四
1.教师引导学生两人一组,互换所写的寓言故事评论初稿,参照教材Activity 5的检查清单对初稿进行评价,并提出修改建议。
2.学生在同伴建议的基础上修改自己的初稿。
3.教师挑选部分学生展示自己的故事评论,全班同学进行评价并提出修改建议。
作业设计
1.常态学生:在借鉴全班同学的各种建议后,进一步修改润色自己的寓言故事评论。
2.超常态学生:阅读教材 Workbook Reading and Writing Activity 1中的文章,并写一篇故事评论。
3.选择性作业:上网搜索英文版寓言故事《农夫和蛇》,阅读故事并写一篇故事评论。
补充建议
1.在活动一中,教师可以使用教材Activity 1中的三个问题。
2.在本板块教学接近尾声时,教师可以展示教材Activity 1的寓言故事的评论范文;学生朗读并找出其中写故事评论常用的表达方式及篇章结构特征,为课后修改自己的作文提供帮助。
One possible version:
The title of the story is The Stone in the Road. It is an old fable. It tells us that a king who thought his people didn't have the sense of the social responsibility put a large stone in the middle of the road and hid to see if anyone would move it.
The author wrote this story to impress upon readers with the need to take responsibility for social problems. The story achieved its purpose, and I like it because it had a clear moral.
The part of the story I like best is that the girl removed the stone without knowing that she would be praised and awarded. I would recommend the story to my friend for that all of the characters in the story learnt something.
