四、阅读理解
In the West some people believe that personality can be predicted according to the time of the
year the person was born in. From China comes the belief that the year of birth influences one's
personality. In the past century, a new belief has appeared: The idea that personality has
something to do with one's ABO blood type. People with blood type A, for example, are
considered more likely to be serious, hard-working and quiet, while people with blood type O are
likely to be popular and outgoing, yet often unable to finish what they start. Though this belief
continues to be strong, some people question if it is true.
The blood-type personality theory(理论) started in Japan in 1927 when Furukawa Takeji
noticed personality similarities and differences among his workers. This idea soon went out of
fashion but was brought back by a Japanese television host named Toshitaka Nomi in the 1970s.
The belief is still strong in Japan and is increasingly popular in neighbouring countries. Some young
Koreans have taken to the theory. A recent study showed 76 percent of Koreans aged between 13

and 64 believing in the blood-type personality connection. Though most Asians might believe in the
blood-type theory, for many it seems harmless and not something to be taken too seriously.
Is the belief true? The scientists in Asia mainly think the belief as a modern-day superstition
(迷信). Most studies have failed to find any strong connection between blood and personality.
Generally scientists warn against making predictions or important decisions based on this
questionable theory.

五、信息还原
Everyone has their own personality traits, but you may think some are not good for your
growth.
_.1
Face up to your faults. 2 Think about it carefully and write down the traits, like the ones
that always get you into trouble. You can also ask a friend or a family member for help.
When you are talking with someone who knows you well, ask them what they think your
faults are. Other people may help you see yourself clearly. They can sometimes see some of your
faults that you don't know. 3 There must be someone you look up to in real life. Maybe they
are hosts, writers or scientists. Try reading stories or watching videos about these people. This
can help you find out the personality traits that they have.
Put your ideas into practice. You can get started after you decide what you want to change.
But if you try to change many personality traits at once, you won't be able to focus on any of them
4 To have a good beginning, you can start with easier ones.
5 It can take months or years for your new personality traits to really feel like you. But if
you practise them long enough, you'll make it in the end. Keep moving forward and don't give up!
A. Make sure they are famous.
B. It's not easy to form a new habit.
C. Find people who you want to learn from.
D. You may find these traits can never be dealt with.
E. Of course, you can make a change for the better if you want.
F. So, work on just one or two traits at first and leave the others for later
G. Which of your personality traits stop you from living the life you want?
