Hasna Kourda grew up on an island in Tunisia where her grandmother taught her the strong values of looking after old things. “Clothes can be reused continuously,” Kourda says. A large bag made from old clothes by her grandmother is still used by her parents today. Kourda has brought these values into a project that she hopes to change the relationship people have with their clothes—and benefit the environment in the process.
The clothing industry is considered to be responsible for 8%~10% of global carbon emissions (碳排放), according to the UN. As the world races to meet its promises to limit carbon emissions to net zero by the middle of the century, the clothing industry has a huge job to play its part.
Kourda is among those who hope to help do that. Her way is to encourage people to look for new ways of using the clothing they already have rather than buying something new. Her company, Save Your Wardrobe (衣柜) , uses technology to help people go shopping in their own wardrobes. The company uses computer software to build a digital image (形象) of a user’s wardrobe—people can either take pictures of clothes or allow Save Your Wardrobe to check their online shopping history. It then advises how to create new clothes as well as connecting users to repair services and environmentally friendly dry cleaning services.
In October, the company began to work with the German company Zalando, which will use Save Your Wardrobe technology to offer customers aftercare for their clothes. “Our goal” says Kourda, “is to use technology to guide users to reconnect with the clothes of their wardrobe and make the most out of it, finally encouraging them to buy less and better.”
Save Your Wardrobe is just one of a huge number of companies using new technology to make a difference in the clothing industry. From encouraging new ways of buying clothes, to making it possible for clothes to be recycled at the end of their life, the clothing world could look very different by the time we reach 2045.

①A new form of transport will be with us in the next few years—flying taxis. Many of us grew up watching sci-fi (科幻) movies with flying taxis. They are now becoming science fact.
②The Japanese airline ANA teamed up with a US tech start-up called Joby Aviation. The two companies want to start producing flying taxis at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka. They are now working together on building the flying taxi. They also need to work out what traffic rules the taxis will need to follow, and what kind of training flying taxi pilots will need. The five-seat, all-electric taxi will be able to take off and land freely. It will fly about 300 kilometers an hour.
③Joby’s CEO said the taxis would be good for the environment. He told reporters, “Joby helps people save time while cutting down their carbon footprint (碳排放量). Japan offers us a good chance to do that with 92% of the population living in cities, and Tokyo being one of the top 20 busiest cities in the world.” The president of ANA, Koji Shibata, was also excited about the project. He said, “ANA has 70 years of experience. It can offer safe flights (飞行) to customers across the world. Also, it is able to offer them the chance to travel fast. From an international airport to the center of a city is very popular.” The two companies successfully tested a flying taxi for the first time in 2020. They plan to start the world’s first flying taxi service at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Imagine flying over the city in an Aircraft (航空器) that had no pilot but can take you from point A to point B in minutes. Sounds like science fiction, right? Well, not anymore.
China-based Ehang has become the world’s first company to fly passengers in air taxis without a pilot at the controls.
Ehang’s EH216-S air taxis can carry up to two passengers or about 270kg of goods (货物). They can fly at speeds of up to l30 km/h and distances (距离) of up to 28 km. Passengers can simply select the places they want to go to on a touchscreen and enjoy the ride without worrying about piloting the air taxis.
The taxis do not require airports or runways. They can take off and land vertically (垂直地) from any flat (水平的) surface, such as a park or car park. What’s more, the air taxis use electric power to cut down environmental harm. They can be fully charged in two hours and have low noise levels.
To make sure it is safe enough, more than 40,000 test flights have been taken in different places around the world since 2014. Then on October 15 this year, Ehang said to the public that it had got agreement from the government that the taxi is safe to fly and it can run the air taxi business with passengers in China.
Ehang’s air taxis still have some challenges. First, they need to follow the laws and rules of different countries. Another big problem is getting the trust of the public—they are safe while flying. To do this, Ehang will educate passengers about the benefits and risks of using the taxis while also dealing with problems like noise levels, privacy and the environmental influence.
1.How does the writer lead to the topic of air taxis at the start of the passage?
A.By imagining a scene. B.By offering some numbers.
C.By drawing a picture. D.By listing some reasons.
2.What can we know about the air taxis from the passage?
A.They are the world’s first pilotless air taxis to fly passenger.
B.They need to carry up to 28 passengers and 270 kg of good.
C.They can fly at a speed of 270 km/h and a distance of 130 km.
D.They can take off and land from surfaces like mountain tops.
3.Why did Ehang take over 40,000 test flights in 10 years?
A.To enjoy the pilotless ride. B.To protect the environment.
C.To test the air taxis’ safety. D.To get the public attention.
4.What does the last paragraph mainly tell us?
A.Who Ehang’s air taxis are made for. B.Where Ehang’s air taxis are produced.

One of my favorite inventions in recent years is face unlocking. Without needing to lift my fingers and type in the numbers, I can get straight into my phone with just a look. Now there is a new technology designed to replace the password called the “passkey”!
Passkeys turn your phone into something a bit like a wallet, which you can use to store membership cards to all of your apps and services. When you need to log in to a website, you’ll just have to tap a button on your phone and your passkey wallet will let you in without any worry.
And how does it keep this wallet safe? By using the same “biometric (生物统计)” check your phone uses — a face scan or a fingerprint that cannot easily be forged.
Passkeys won’t just save us from having to remember passwords but, perhaps logging in with a passkey will actually be much safer than typing a password. This is because it uses a technology called “public key” cryptography (密码) which is one of the building blocks of the Internet — and is how computers have securely communicated with other computers for so many years. To put it simply, it works a bit like a key, instead of a password.
With a password, the website has to keep a database (数据库) of everyone’s passwords to check against when you log in. But with a passkey, when you create your account on a website, it will effectively create a new lock and key. The website will keep the lock, ★ .
I think it’s a really clever idea, and that passkeys are going to make our digital lives even safer. So, next time you’re complaining that you can’t remember your password, don’t worry too much. It won’t always be like this!
1.The writer explains how the passkeys work by ________.
A.giving examples B.listing numbers
C.raising questions D.comparing similar things
2.The underlined word “forged” in paragraph 3 means ________.
A.copied B.printed C.canceled D.recorded
3.The passkeys are much safer than passwords because of ________.
A.biometric check B.cryptography technology
C.blocks of Internet D.secure communication
4.Which of the following can be put in ★ ?
A.but your phone is safer B.so you won’t forget the key
C.or it will remember the key D.and only your phone will have the key
5.The passage is written to ________.
A.show passkeys are safer than passwords B.introduce science development
C.report the invention of face unlocking D.describe digital lives

When were the cameras invented? Let’s go into the past. In the 1500s, men made experiments (试验) on cameras that made images. But it was not until the early 1800s that someone found a way to make the pictures permanent (永久的). Then photography was a new technology. Most families couldn’t take pictures themselves. They would turn to a photographer. People didn’t have their own cameras because it was too difficult to take pictures and develop the film (冲洗胶片).
In 1884, George Eastman invented a kind of film that fitted back to a small camera to change photography and the new film was easy to use for many people, so they began to buy cameras. When they had used up (用完) their films, people sent their cameras back to the factory. The film was developed in the factory and helped print pictures. Then more and more people could use the cameras and film.
Eastman’s invention made it easy to take photos. Today’s cameras are even easier to use and people can put in films themselves. Taking photo has become a growing hobby.
There are also many new jobs in the field such as newspapers, magazines and televisions. They all need pictures to tell their stories well. With the help of photographers, scientists can take pictures through microscopes (显微镜) and telescopes (望远镜). Deep-sea divers take pictures of ocean plants and animals, while astronauts take their cameras into space.

Sleep like a Giraffe
What’s your favorite sleeping position? On your back? On your side? How about standing up? Unless you happen to be a giraffe, I’d never have thought anyone would choose the last one. But now thanks to a Japanese company, it could actually be a real competitor.
Giraffenap is invented to allow the user to take a rest while standing when he/she feels tired or sleepy with the purpose of improving performance at work. In an introduction to the nap (小睡) box, the company says that it will allow the user to be refreshed (恢复精神的).
But why does it have to be standing? The company explains that studies have shown that sleeping while standing allows people to reach a sleep state in which they breathe easily. When they wake up, they can feel the influence of a nap without having to sleep too much. And they can quickly return to work without feeling dizzy (头景目眩的). Also, making the box vertical (垂直的) rather than horizontal (水平的), means that it takes up half as much floor space. Now, I know what you’re thinking—wouldn’t a person just fall down if he tried to sleep while standing? Of course not.
Inside the box are four points to support the body—head, buttocks (臀), legs and feet. That means he can rest his arms. I hope you’ll try sleeping standing up—just like giraffes do.
Giraffenap has been made in two different styles—a futuristic (极其新潮的) one named “Spacia”, and a wood-covered one named “Forest”. They’re scheduled to be released towards the end of next year, so when that time comes, I guess you’ll just have to pick your favorite design, and slot yourself in ready for a good nap.
1.Giraffenap was designed with the purpose of ________.
A.taking naps when tired or sleepy B.improving work performance
C.feeling refreshed in just 20 minutes D.returning to work without feeling dizzy
2.Why does the company recommend (推荐) standing up to take a nap?
A.It takes up more floor space. B.It helps users fall asleep too much.
C.It’s difficult for users to breathe easily. D.It can help users feel refreshed in a short time.
3.What does the company say about the napping box?
A.It allows users to fall asleep easily. B.It saves floor space when not in use.
C.It provides four points of support for the head. D.It will be available for sale at the end of next year.
4.Which of the following is NOT mentioned in the passage?
A.The box’s appearance. B.The box’s materials.
C.The box’s use of space D.The box’s sale date.
5.The underlined sentence “Now, I know what you’re thinking—wouldn’t a person just fall down if he tried to sleep while standing?” suggests that ________.
A.people would fall down if they tried to sleep standing up
B.the author doubts if it is necessary to stand up to take a nap
C.people may care about the safety of taking a nap standing up
D.it is unnecessary to worry about falling down while standing up to sleep

Do you know anything about the invention of the bar code (条形码)?
A small food store owner found it was difficult to keep records of the product information. In 1948, he contacted (联系) the Drexel Institute of Technology to solve this problem. Bernard Silver was interested in it and he began to look into it. Silver and his students realized their answer in the form of ultraviolet light (紫外线), ink and a scanner (扫描仪).
The system did work at first, but it’s very expensive and sometimes the system didn’t work well. If the invention was to become popular in grocery stores, the problems had to be solved. Finally, Silver solved them.
The patent (专利权) for the bar code system was asked by Silver and Woodland in 1949. But the patent was not given until 1952. Although this patent was given, the system was still not popular among store owners. In 1966, the system began moving its way into more grocery stores.
Logicon developed the Universal Grocery Products Identification Number (通用标识码) in 1970. Marsh’s superstore in lroy was the first store to set up this bar code reading system. It became very popular ever since, and now it’s obviously popular in all types of stores worldwide (在世界各地).

①Could you imagine being in a car driven by a computer, not a human? Recently, China has made a big step toward self-driving technology. Since August, driverless taxis can run on roads in Wuhan, Chongqing and Shenzhen.
②Why do we develop self-driving cars? Self-driving cars have many advantages. They use computers to sense the things around them and make better use of space. This means fewer crowded roads and better parking of cars. For disabled or blind people, self-driving cars can also help them get around more easily.
③According to US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year, more than 1.35 million people are killed on roads around the world. Many more are hurt in accidents. Self driving cars could reduce road accidents by 90 percent and save governments a lot of money. The main cause of car accidents is human error (错误). By using computers, self-driving cars don’t make poor decisions or lose attention like humans do.
④But self-driving cars aren’t perfect. If something unexpected on the road happens, self-driving cars can’t react as fast as a human driver can. Also, during weather events like heavy snow, self-driving cars wouldn’t see the lines on the road easily. It might lead to an accident. The car’s computer system would be broken by someone, causing it to crash or change its direction.
⑤It’s clear that there is a lot of work to do to make self-driving cars a common sight on our roads. And China is taking the lead in making this happen.
1.According to the passage, it is ________ to develop self-driving cars for disabled or blind people.
A.difficult B.creative C.helpful D.unnecessary

A.Self-driving cars would cause 90 percent road accidents of all.
B.Self-driving cars would cause 10 road accidents among 100 ones.
C.90 percent of self-driving cars would cause road accidents.
D.Self-driving cars could reduce the number of road accidents from 100 to 10.
3.The purpose of the passage is to tell us ________.
A.how self-driving cars work
B.why self-driving cars were invented
C.what we should do to use self-driving cars safely
D.that self-driving cars bring both convenience and problems
4.Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage?
A. B. C. D.

Tim Berners-Lee is not the most famous inventor in the world. However, his invention has changed our lives.
He was born in London, England in 1955. When he was a small boy, Tim was interested in playing with electrical things. He studied science at Oxford University. He made his first computer from an old television at the age of 21.
Tim started working on early computers. At that time, they were much bigger than now. He worked in England then Switzerland. Tim was really interested in two things, computers and how the brain works. How could the brain connect so many facts so quickly? He had to work with people all over the world. They shared information about computers. It was hard to manage all the information. He answered the same questions again and again, and it took a lot of time. It was even difficult for computers in the same office in Switzerland to share information. Tim also forgot things easily. Could a computer work like a brain? Could it “talk” to other computers?
There was an Internet already but it was difficult to use. In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web (WWW) all by himself. This had a special language that helped computers talk to each other on the Internet. When people wanted to share information with others, they used the World Wide Web. The Internet grew quickly after that.
Tim Berners-Lee doesn’t think he did anything special. He says that all of the ideas about the Internet were already there. All he did was to put them together. He says that many other people worked together to make the Internet what it is today.
Most inventors want to become rich. But Tim gave away the World Wide Web for nothing. He now works in America. He helps people share technology and wants the Internet to be free for everyone to use. Maybe he is the most important but least famous inventor in the world today!

Type in “A cat wants to go to space” and ask the robot to write a bedtime story. Just one second later, you’ll get the story of Max, who got over many difficulties to sing among the stars.
This robot writer is called ChatGPT. US company OpenAI developed it. The technology chats in a conversational way, answering questions from the Internet user. It can translate languages, talk with people and write songs, poems and even jokes.
The power of ChatGPT lies in its speed and understanding of complicated (复杂的) matters. We may spend hours researching, understanding and writing an article on the theory of evolution (进化论). But ChatGPT can produce a well-written one in seconds. Another good thing about it is that if you ask dark, dangerous questions, it will not give you an answer.
However, there are also some issues about ChatGPT. The texts they create are difficult to tell from those made by humans. This causes many problems, such as the copyright (版权) problem. It could also result in many translators and writers losing their jobs or being paid much less, as their skills are no longer something companies need. The tool also makes it easier for students to cheat on homework, which is bad for their development.
It’s too soon to say what kind of influence ChatGPT will have on our lives. Let’s hope that, if we make good use of ChatGPT, it may turn out to be a strong tool!

Have you ever looked out of the window of a passenger plane from 30,000 feet and wondered how people can have any major effect on the Earth? I have. But it is now becoming pretty clear that we are causing a great deal of damage (破坏) to the natural environment. And the planes that rush us in comfort to destinations (目的地) around the globe lead to one of the biggest environmental problems that we face today—global warming.
For those of us lucky enough to have money and time to spend, there are a huge number of attractive places to explore. The cost of air transport has decreased (减少) rapidly over the years, and for many people, especially in rich countries, it is now possible to fly around the world for less money.
Unfortunately, planes produce far more carbon dioxide (CO2 ) than any other form of public transport, and CO2 is now known to be a greenhouse gas causing the temperature of the Earth to rise. Scientists predict that in the near future the climate in Britain will follow that of the Mediterranean (地中海), a popular destination for British holidaymakers flying off to enjoy the sun. If global warming continues, we may also find that many tourist destinations such as the Maldives (马尔代夫) have disappeared under water because of rising sea levels.
So what can be done to solve the problem? Well, although engineers are making more efficient engines and researching other fuels (燃料) such as hydrogen, it will be a long time before air travel is not damaging to the environment. Governments don’t seem to be taking the problem seriously, so it is up to travelers to do what they can to help.
The most obvious way of dealing with the problem is to not travel by plane at all. Environmental groups such as Friends of the Earth encourage people to travel by train and plan holidays nearer home. However, with prices of flights at an all-time low, and exotic destinations more popular than ever, it is hard to ask British tourists to choose London instead of Beijing or Tokyo.
However, there is a way of offsetting (抵消) the carbon dioxide we produce when we travel by plane. A company called Future Forests offers a service that can reduce CO2. The Future Forest website finds the amount of CO2 you are responsible for producing on your flight. Then you will pay a small fee (费用) to the company. And it can help you plant the number of trees that will absorb this CO2.
Yesterday I returned to Japan from England, and was happy to pay Futured Forests £25 to plant the three trees which balance my share of the CO2 produced by my return flight. Now the only thing making me lose sleep is jet lag (时差效应).

When ChatGPT came out last November, Olivia Lipkin, a copywriter (文案写手) in San Francisco, didn’t think too much about it. Over the next few months, however, Lipkin found herself with less and less work to do. In April, she was fired with no explanation. She realized why she lost her job when she heard managers talking about how using ChatGPT was cheaper than hiring (雇用) a human writer.
Lipkin was not alone. Eric Fein, a 34-year-old man in the U. S. state of Illinois, ran a writing business for ten years. He became jobless this March. All his clients (顾客) told him they no longer needed his services because they were turning to ChatGPT. Fein asked his clients to reconsider. He warned them that ChatGPT couldn’t write with his level of creativity. His clients said they understood, but it was far cheaper to use the chatbot (聊天机器人) than to pay him. Fein’s business was gone almost overnight.
Economists predict (经济学家预测) that AI systems like ChatGPT could replace hundreds of millions of jobs in the future. But for those who write social media posts and ads, the effect is already here. Experts say that even the best AI systems can’t match the writing skills of a human. It doesn’t have a personal voice or style. Besides, it often gives the wrong answers. But for many companies, the cost savings are worth the drop in quality. Indeed, companies that have replaced human workers with chatbots have run into trouble. CNET, a technology news site company, once used AI systems to write articles. The results, however, were full of mistakes. They required a lot of corrections. And the U. S. National Eating Disorders Association Company once replaced its helpline (求助热线) staff with chatbots. But it had to stop using the technology after it gave people harmful advice.
After being replaced by ChatGPT, Fein and Lipkin took a same path. Fein decided to do a new job that AI can’t do. He is now an air-conditioning technician (空调技术人员) after training. And Lipkin wanted to work as a dog walker. “I’m taking a complete break from the office world.” She says. But she doesn’t work now.
1.When did Olivia Lipkin lose her job?
A.Last November. B.34 years ago. C.In April. D.This March.
2.How many companies that have replaced human workers with chatbots have run into trouble in the text?
A.Two. B.Three. C.Many. D.None.
3.How did Fein get a new job?
A.By accident. B.By training. C.By mistake. D.By chatting.
4.What is the author’s attitude about the text?
A.AI systems maybe replace many jobs, but they can’t replace all.
B.Don’t believe in any experts and economists’ posts and ads.
C.It is nice to take a complete break from the office world.
D.Humans mustn’t have a personal voice or style.

①Whether you believe in climate change or not, the loss of housing due to floods is a big problem all over the world, and while engineers have been trying to find solutions, few have actually worked.
②Now Japanese housing developer Ichijo Komuten recently showed a “flood-resistant (抗洪) house” that can not only remain waterproof (防水) during floods but also float off the ground. He comes up with an answer to keep people’s homes from getting flooded as well as swept away by floods. Their new “flood-resistant house” was recently shown on a popular Japanese TV show and has received much attention online ever since.
③ Japan’s TV station recently visited one of Ichijo’s test sites where the company’s new flood-resistant house was being put through a flood. Although it looked just like a common house when the test began, by the time that water started rising around it, viewers could see the structure leave the ground and finally float a few inches above it.
④How does the “flood-resistant house” work? It has special vents (通风口) that close up in the event of flooding, and the plumbing (管道) also has special valves (阀门) that prevent water from getting into the home. Electrical equipment like air conditioning is positioned on the upper half of the building to make sure that water doesn’t reach it.
⑤What’s more, Ichijo’s newest invention prevents the house from being swept away. The house is connected to a number of thick iron rods (铁棒) sticking out of the ground with thick cables that ensure it stays in place as the water floods past. When the waters recede, the floating house comes back down in its own position.
⑥According to engineers, most homes flood when water reaches the window level, but because their flood-resistant house can float up to five meters above ground, water is unlikely to reach the windows, and everything else is shut. It works quite well.
1.What’s the writing purpose of this passage?
A.To introduce the flood-resistant house to people
B.To show the history of flood-resistant house.
C.To explain the importance of flood-resistant house.

①It is 9 a.m., and 14-year-old Noah and his family are about to leave their summer house near Halmstad in Sweden. But before they go, they must sort out the rubbish and empty boxes for recycling. This has become a habit. “There is always a place where I can recycle my rubbish,” says Noah. Sweden produces around 4.4 million tons of waste a year. When it comes to waste management, Sweden has done a good job.

One German school has come up with a cheap and simple DIY system to help with the air moving problem in the room during COVID-19. It was invented by a teacher’s scientist husband, Frank Helleis.
In the school, above every desk, there is a clear plastic funnel attached to a narrow pipe (连接着窄小管道的塑料漏斗). All the pipes are in turn connected to one wide pipe leading to a fan (风扇) that directs the air outside through a window. Warm air breathed out by the students rises up overhead and is sucked (吸) up and pushed outside before it can spread through the room. Another window is kept half-open to allow in fresh air.
The system manages to take out over 90% of aerosols (气溶胶) from the room. It can be built with materials from a DIY store for around $235. Some people were successfully putting all the materials together in half a day. And it has been shared online for anyone who wants to use the idea.
Helleis had the idea after discussing with his team on how they could help during COVID-19. “We found the best thing to do was to take out the aerosols,” he said.
Helleis says air purifiers (净化器) can be useful but are more expensive and noisier than his invention. And unlike his invention, expensive purifiers don’t deal with CO2, which might cause tiredness. This gives schools a reason to keep his homemade system.

A team of Volkswagen (大众) designers and engineers developed a high-tech office chair that you can drive at a top speed of 12mph (20km/h).
Most high-tech office chairs simply prevent either water or kinds of pollution, or they are designed at a higher standard, especially about ergonomics (人类工程学). But Volkswagen’s recent take on a high-tech office chair shows just how low the standard is at the present.
The German car producer designed an office chair with a built-in motor and controls allowing the user to drive it at a top speed of 12mph. And that’s just one of the crazy ideas that built into this one-of-a-kind piece of office furniture (家具).
The main goal of this project was to put many smart parts that were found in a real Volkswagen car into an office chair, and the team did a truly excellent job.
Not only did they manage to put in a real motor and driving controls, but also a seat belt, honk, built-in speakers, and even tiny parts for the chair wheels.
The futuristic office chair also comes with 360-degree collision prevention sensors (感应器), a backup camera, a touchscreen display, headlights built into the armrests, LED party lights, USB charging, a small pocket for storing documents and the WV logo added into the headrest.

十二、(23-24九年级上·北京大兴·期末)
1.What is the third paragraph mainly about?
A.The damage caused by public transport.
B.The possible effects of planes on global warming.
C.The main reasons for rising the global temperature.
D.The predictions of some disappearing tourist destinations.
2.The word “exotic” in Paragraph 5 is closest in meaning to “__________”.
A.interesting B.foreign C.similar D.beautiful
3.From the passage, we know__________.
A.passengers can pay extra fees to offset the CO2 produced by their flights
B.the climate in Britain is similar to that of the Mediterranean now
C.environmental groups encourage people to plant more trees
D.it’s getting more and more expensive to travel by plane
4.What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A.To discuss the bad effects of CO2.
B.To compare different reasons for global warming.
C.To introduce the famous tourist destinations in the world.
D.To call attention to the environmental damage caused by taking planes.
【答案】1.B 2.B 3.A 4.D
【导语】本文介绍了乘飞机旅行给环境带来的危害。

【答案】1.C 2.A 3.B 4.A

Flying Heroes Are Coming!
You are hiking (远足) in a forest, and you are injured. What do you do now? You can use your cellphone to call for help. ▲ Luckily, in the near future, a real hero will quickly fly in to save you.
Great North Air Ambulance Service is a British charity (慈善机构). It provides helicopter rescues (直升机救援). Recently, the charity has been testing its jet suits (喷气式飞行服) in the Lake District National Park. These suits can help rescuers to find hard-to-reach patients faster.
The jet suit has two mini engines on each arm and a large engine on the pilot’s back. All movements (动作) are controlled by the pilot. The suit can provide 144 kilograms of thrust (推力). This allows the pilot to travel at a speed of more than 50 kilometers per hour. And the person can fly for up to ten minutes.
During one test, it took 25 to 35 minutes for a helicopter to reach a “patient” in the park. A rescuer in the jet suit, however, was able to fly in to help the “patient” in only 90 seconds. While flying, the pilots have to carry heavy medical equipment (设备). The pilots must be trained to find their balance in flight. The team is now busy training and preparing their flying heroes!

The school plans to spend the next few weekends installing Helleis’ system in all the classrooms.
