Passage 3
Chuanjiang Chants (川江号子) is a form of folk singing performed by Chuanjiang boatmen in order to unify their movements and rhythms (节奏). Chongqing and eastern Sichuan are the main birthplaces of the Chuanjiang Chants.
In the age of wooden boat shipping for thousands of years, the power (动力) of wooden boats on the river came from the body of the boatmen. Whenever they headed up against the river or when the boat crossed a shoal, the boatmen had to pull together. Moreover, the long journey was boring and boatmen needed something to relax, and the Chuanjiang Chants appeared.
Chuanjiang Chants is both technical and artistic. Boatmen control the direction of the boat just like a driver is responsible for that of a car. And chants are like the accelerator (油门) of a car, controlling the speed of the boat. Therefore, the chants can adjust (调整) the force of the boatmen through their rhythm, so that the ship can move forward smoothly (平稳地). At the same time, the chants are always sung in a bright voice, a good tone, and a beautiful sound. Therefore, it is also an art.
However, with the development and popularity of modern ships, Chuanjiang Chants is likely to be forgotten by people, facing an endangered situation. Our country paid great attention to the protection of it and it was included in the first national intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) list. Hope that more and more people can get the chance to know the wonderful culture.
10.According to Para. 2, before Chuanjiang Chants appeared, how was the long journey for the boatmen?

C.Exciting and proud. D.Tiring but worthy.
11.The underlined word “that” in the third paragraph refers to ________.
A.the boat B.a boatman C.the direction D.the accelerator
12.Why does the writer say “Chuanjiang Chants is also an art”?
A.Because the chants can control the speed of the boats.
B.Because the chants can adjust the force of the boatmen.
C.Because the chants can control the direction of the boat.
D.Because the chants can be sung in a bright and beautiful voice.
13.What is the writer’s purpose of writing the passage?
A.To let more people know and remember the culture of Chuanjiang Chants.
B.To introduce how Chuanjiang Chants appeared.
C.To encourage readers to experience Chuanjiang Chants themselves.
D.To bring readers back to the old times.

四、任务型阅读之阅读填表
根据短文内容,完成图表中所缺信息。
Passage 1
Do you often read news? It helps us open up our eyes to the world. News is information about present events, and it covers all kinds of topics, including politics (政治), business, sports, entertainment, science, and technology. It can be divided into local news and international news. How to write news reports? Let’s try writing our own news report by using the tips below.
What’s the story?
Find a story to report on something that people might not know about yet. Local events are a great place to start. What’s happening around where you live? What might local people be interested in reading about? It could be the opening of a music club or the notice that a new skate park will be built. Maybe a new theatre show or a modern cafe shop will appear in town. Something that has to do with their life.
It’s all in the headline.
Yao Ming quits as head of Chinese basketball.
All good news reports have a great headline. This is usually in eye-catching large text across the top of the article. Readers always become less interested when they see long sentences and have difficulty understanding some expressions. To make them read better, start with two or more words which have the same sound. For example: “Community cries at church closure”. Try to use as few words as possible.
Include the five “W”s.
Who, what, when, where and why?
These are the questions all good reporters ask and plan to answer in a news article. Gather this information before you start writing. These key facts should be included in the first part of your report. You can add more information that readers may be interested in later to the report. Stick with reporting on facts you’re sure about, unless you are using other people’s opinions.
Get someone on the record.
If someone agrees to be put “on the record” it means they understand when they talk to you what they say can be shared in the report. Before you interview someone, list your questions on a notebook. To record their answers, you can write them down or use a voice recorder and don’t forget to use their full name and speech marks. For example, Ann Zarka, a local person, said, “We loved the food shop at the May Festival”. Make sure your words are exactly what she wants to mean.
So now, have you had any idea about news reports? Waiting for yours!

A.Relaxing and happy. B.Boring and tiring.

The Meaning of News. It reports 58 now, including local and international events, covering all kinds of topics.
←News Reports→
The Requirements of News Reports
59 reports 60 people’s interests and life.
Draw readers’ attention by
61 headline. It’s the best to use the words with the same sound.
Begin with “w” questions. Besides people’s opinions, 62 hold great importance in the reports,
Put the idea of being honest first. It’s a “must” to tell interviewees that readers will know what they say.
Clearly note the interviewee and make sure the words and the interviewee’s meanings are 63 in your report.

For many Chinese people, Lantern Festival, which fell on Feb.15, 2022, marks an end to two weeks of the Lunar (农历) New Year. For folk artist Wang De, it is also the busiest, best time for him to show his craft (手艺) creating molten (熔化的) iron fireworks.
Wang, who is a blackmith (铁匠) of the 500-year-old art of dashuhua, which means “creating tree flowers”, lives in Yuxian County in the city of Zhangjiakou, North China’s Hebei Province.
To create molten iron fireworks, scrap iron (铁屑) is melted to 1,600℃ and thrown against a cold wall to blinding effect.
Wang, 58, and his assistants put on over a dozen dashuhua shows for local people and tourists as part of the Spring Festival activities each year. The folk artist hopes the tradition can bring more visitors to his hometown of Zhangjiakou, which caught international attention.

Because of the risk of the show, it’s easy for dashuhua artists to get hurt when they are giving shows. And the high-risk tradition is still only kept for the brave. During a show a few years ago, Wang got serious burns on his leg and it took two months to recover (恢复).
Both Wang’s father and grandfather were blacksmiths. “I learned the craft from my father. When I was young, I thought it was exciting. But years later I also felt it was my duty (责任) to pass it on to the next generation (代),” he says.
