Have students work in groups and list the sportspeople mentioned in this unit, and then ask them to list some other sportspeople they know of. 2. Have students discuss and choose which sportsperson they want to do research on, and answer the following questions. (1) Which sportsperson would your group like to research? We want to do research on Deng Yaping. (2) Why do you choose this sportsperson? We believe Deng Yaping is a good example of sportspeople because she is one of the most well-known table tennis players in China, and she is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of table tennis. She was a dedicated and hard-working athlete during her career. We all admire her. 3. Have students recall how to make a fact file. 4. Have students study the example in part C on page 27, and list the key information they want to include in their fact file with the help of the ideas in part B.
