Clearly, I stil have a long way to go. What is it that drives us to check our mailboxes? The promise of a reward(奖励), the wish for good news, or someone who􀆳s thinking of us. We can􀆳t help thinking about these. I check my mailbox—my real one—and then folow up with a trip to the store. I get shocked as I find that I􀆳ve forgotten my shopping card. My wife wil surely get angry when I get home. “I sent it to your mobile phone so you􀆳d always have it,” she􀆳l say. Is my plan to bad for my family life? Wil this terrible chalenge ruin(毁坏) so many happy years with a wonderful woman? A If I keep troubling her, she􀆳l end up leaving me. I􀆳l stop having meals at home and end up being homeless. B Children wil laugh at me, and the seler at the local shop wil tel other buyers, “ C He was a travel writer. He was on TV. D And then one day he got this strange idea and it was the beginning of the end of his luck.” It would be pitiful to ruin my life for this. What if I took just a peek(偷看)? Come on! No one wil know. It􀆳s Thursday, two pm. Three and a half days have passed. Halfway through, that􀆳s not bad. Important messages are probably waiting for me in my mailbox. I should handle them. I feel dirty and sorry. But I turn on my tablet. Hundreds of emails and messages pour in. I do with three “important” messages, but to be honest, there was nothing that couldn􀆳t have waited a few days. Later, after school, a parent asks me how my plan is going. “Excelent,” I answer quickly. “The first few days are difficult, but then I get into it.” I folow that up with words about peace of mind and how I􀆳ve got praise and encouragement. In fact, I􀆳m sorry that I tel a lie to the parent. It􀆳s hard not to use a mobile phone, but I can􀆳t give up so early. I have to keep my promise that I wil not use my mobile phone for seven days. It is my plan, and I must finish it. (素材来源: Reader􀆳s Digest) 根据短文内容,完成下列各题。每题答案不 超过10个词。 1. Which is the key sentence in Paragraph 1? 2. 创新考法·补全句子 Please fil in the blank in Paragraph 3. 3.
