So far, China has successfully sent a large number of satelltes( 卫星) and spaceships into space. Space
scientists have been greatly inspired(赋予灵感)by the old stories and ancient famous people when giving them
names.
-40-
Since thousands of years ago, Chinese people have dreamed of going to the moon. Chang'e Flies to the
Moon is one of the most popular stories. As you can see, China's first man-made satellite to circle around the
moon was named Chang'e I. More interestingly, the moon rover(探测 器) was named after the Jade Rabbit
who is the partner of Chang'e in the story. These old stories carry people's best wishes and dreams. With the
development of science and technology, our scientists have made them come true.
Kua fu Runs After the Sun is another story to show how much ancient Chinese people wanted to know about
the unknown world. Now, Kua fu is going with the scientists to" visit" the sun, because we have a space
project called KuaFu Mission
Besides the ancient stories, space scientists also get ideas from ancient famous people. For example,
Mozi, an ancient scientist, discovered that light travels in a straight line over 2,ooo years ago. His discovery
made space study take a big step at that time. So, China's first quantum(量子) science satellite was named
Mozi, making China the first country in the world to achieve quantum communication between satellites and the
ground.
From such simple things as giving names to the satellites, we can see how great our traditional culture is
and what influence it has on our modern science and technology.

B. By comparing facts
C. By giving an example.
D. By reporting a result.
_
)8. What's the writer's main purpose of writing the passage?
A. To spread the traditional Chinese culture.

Scientists have developed a way to read minds, translating unspoken thoughts into written words. It's the
first time it's been done without having to put anvthing into the brain. They used artificial intelligence( AI)(人

工智能). It is the name given to a computer system that is able to“think" for itself and carry out tasks tha
usually require human intelligence.
Scientists used a special scanner(扫描器), The machine can see where blood runs, which shows the
parts of the brain that are most active. People taking part in the experiment( 实验) listened to the radio for 16
hours as their brains were scanned. The AI tool learned to connect certain brain activity with words they heard
After that, each person was asked to think of a story, and the AI tool managed to pick up these thoughts as
they happened.
The results had about a 5o% accuracy rate(准确率),although the AI found it hard to work out the
meaning of pronouns, such as he or she, her or him. For example, it turned"I don't have my driver's license
yet" into "She has not even started to learn to drive yet." It could usually understand the meaning of what
someone was thinking rather than the exact words. The AI was personalized, so when it had learnt from one
person but it was tested on another, it couldn't understand their thoughts.
The scientists, who have been working on the technology for 15 vears, say they understand the risks of i
being used badly. Scientist Jerry Tang told a newspaper, "We want to make sure people only use these types
of technologies when they want to, and that it helps them." The scientists hope it will help people with certain
medical conditions, who are still awake but have lost the ability to speak, to communicate once again
)9. What is the main purpose of paragraph 2?
A. To describe the process of the experiment.
B. To explain the results of the experiment
C. To offer some opinions about the experiment. D. To list the difficulties with the experiment
,_
)10. What does the example in paragraph 3 show?
A. The AI is much cleverer than people.
B. The AI didn't start the work as it was ordered
C. The AI couldn't understand the exact words of what people thought.
D. The AI will be well developed according to people's special needs
,_
)11. What can we learn from the text?
A. It is not difficult to take AI under control.
B. AI will not be used in a proper way in the future.
C. AI is so wise that it can treat people with medical problems.
D. It's expected that AI will help those speechless exchange ideas

(改 自2024· 长春) Can you imagine what the human body in the future will be like? Our class had a
discussion about it. Tiantian, an AI( artificial intelligence)robot, also joined us. Here are our guesses.
2
Humans are now ten centimeters(厘米) taller than 150 years ago. So, in the future, people
will probably be even taller. Why? Because most of us today have much better food than those in the past.
You must say that people will be stronger according to the first guess. 14.
With the
development of science and technology, we won't have much physical work to do. If people get used to this kind
of lifestyle, we will probably lose most of our muscles(肌肉).
Next, let's come to our hands and feet. We are already using our feet less, and our hands more.
15.
At the same time, our fingers and our eves will both get better because they'll have to do more
work together.
Here comes the most interesting one-it's very possible that people will have four toes(脚), not five
The little toe really isn't needed anymore. 16.
Let's wait and see.
Last but not least-people won't have as much hair on their bodies as now, since we don't need it to keep
ourselves warm.
What do you think of our guesses? Will all these things happen? With the rise of AI. will we lose the ability of
thinking independently?
A. But you're wrong.
B. AI is getting more and more common
C. Let's start with people's height.
D. Will it still be there in the future?
E. So we can expect our legs will get shorter and our feet smaller.

(改自2024·化) Gui Haichao became the country's first payload expert(载荷专家) in space and the
first Chinese civilian(平民) to go on a space flight. He went into space in the Shenzhou-16 together with Jing
Haipeng and Zhu Yangzhu. They set out for the space station from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the
Gobi Desert.
Gui's interest in science started when he was a child. He read a lot about space from a set of books he had
at home. After finishing his studies at Beihang University, Gui went to Canada to do research and wrote many
papers. Since then, he had been working at Beihang University as a teacher. In 2018, China planned to
choose its third group of astronauts. Gui was chosen and went through really hard training for his body and
mind. He even had to learn how to deal with high G-force during his training. Gui and his team also went to
the Badain Jaran Desert in northwest China to learn living skills. They had to collect water and repair their
tools in very difficult situations. During the training, Gui's shoes broke and he had to walk on the hot sand for
two hours, which was very painful.
The Shenzhou-16 is the first crewed mission(载人任务) since China's space station entered its applicatior
