As my dad and I stood on the beach watching the sunrise, a perfect, spotted shell was washed ashore. I couldn’t believe my eyes. All vacation I had hoped to find such a treasure. I ran to my dad happily. “It is a gift from the sea. Take good care of it,” Dad said. I turned it over. Inside, the shell was as pink as a bunny’s ear. “I will,” I assured him, cradling (轻柔地抱着) the shell carefully.
Back in the hotel room, my older brother Vikram was taking pictures of seagulls on the balcony. “Vikram, look!” I said, holding out my treasure. “An ordinary shell. No big deal,” he replied, seeming uninterested. My mom had just emerged from the bathroom and saw the shell. “Pretty,” she exclaimed, adding that it was something to share with my classmates. Suddenly, I couldn’t wait for school to start.
“Let’s visit the boardwalk,” my mom suggested, and that evening, we would pack for home. As I slipped the shell into my pocket, my mom warned me that it might get lost if I took it with me. “Best to leave it here,” she stroked my hair.
I placed the shell on my nightstand (床头柜) and then headed to the boardwalk with my mom. Dad stayed at the hotel. So did Vikram, who was busy taking pictures.
At the boardwalk, I saw shells for sale, but none were as special as mine. For the whole walk, I had been thinking about it. Back at the hotel, I just couldn’t wait to run to my room to admire the shell. However, it was gone! Only a pinch of sand remained.
“My shell!” I cried, “Did you see my shell, daddy?” Dad asked me to think about where I had put it. I checked everywhere I could think of, and I was on the verge of crying. Even Vikram joined me in searching for my treasure. Suddenly, he saw something. “Look!” pointed Vikram.

写作示范一
“It’s a hermit crab (寄居蟹)!” exclaimed Vikram. There it was, peeking out of my precious shell, its little eyes twinkling as if it knew it had caused a stir. The crab's presence made the shell seem even more magical. Suddenly, I wasn't as sad about losing it. I realized that the shell had found a new owner, and this little hermit crab needed it more than I did. I decided to return the shell to the beach.
As Vikram and I walked to the beach, I stared down at the shell I so wanted to keep. But as I placed it gently on the sand, watching the hermit crab scurry away with its new home, I felt a sense of peace. I knew I had made the right decision. The sea had given me this treasure, and now I was giving it back to one of its own.
写作示范二
“It’s a hermit crab (寄居蟹)!” exclaimed Vikram. The crab slowly emerged from the shell, its tiny claws waving in the air. It was so cute that I forgot my sorrow for a moment. I remembered what my dad said about the shell being a gift from the sea. Now it seemed that the sea had another plan for it. I smiled through my tears and decided to set the shell free on the beach.
As Vikram and I walked to the beach, I stared down at the shell I so wanted to keep. With a deep breath, I put it on the sandy shore. The hermit crab quickly disappeared into the water with the shell. I understood that every creature has its place in nature. This shell had brought me an unforgettable experience and taught me to respect the beauty of nature's cycle. We then went back to the hotel, filled with new memories.
参考答案
参考范文:
“It’s a hermit crab (寄居蟹)!” exclaimed Vikram. Everyone looked. The beautiful, spotted shell had shiny eyes and brown legs that raced for the door. I ran over and picked it up. Then it disappeared inside. “I got you!” I peeked into the shell with joy. “You can live at my house.” “He already has a house,” teased Mom. “And a home,” said Dad, looking into my eyes. I remembered how my hermit crab had washed up from the ocean. That was its real home. That was where it wanted to be.
As Vikram and I walked to the beach, I stared down at the shell I so wanted to keep. Every step was painful. I put it down at the beach. Its legs reappeared and carried itself to the water’s edge. With the next wave, it was gone. “Goodbye,” I whispered, feeling good and awful at the same time. “It really was a cool shell,” Vikram said, “but don’t be sad. You can still show it to your friends.” Vikram held up his camera, winking. At this, a smile crept upon my face. “Thanks, brother.” Now it was time for us to go back home.
