Step 1: Warming up

T: Have you ever visited a museum? What kind of museum was it?
Ss: Yes, I have visited a history museum.
T: That's great. What did you see there?
Ss: I saw many ancient artifacts and pictures.
2. Show some pictures of different museums on the screen and ask students to guess what kind of museums they are.
Step 2: Revision
1. Review the key vocabulary of Module 5 by showing flashcards. Ask students to read and spell the words aloud.
T: What's this? (Show a flashcard of "exhibition")
Ss: Exhibition.
T: Spell it, please.
Ss: E- x- h- i- b- i -t- i-o-n.
2. Review the sentence structures by asking students to make sentences with the given words or phrases.
T: Use "against the rules" to make a sentence.
Ss: It's against the rules to take photos in the museum.
Step 3: Presentation
1. Present the imperative sentences on the blackboard.
Stand in line!
Don't touch!
No shouting!
Be quiet!
T: Look at these sentences. They are imperative sentences. Can you tell me the functions of these sentences?
Ss: They are used to give instructions or orders.
T: Very good. Now let's look at the structure of imperative sentences. The verb comes at the beginning of the sentence. If it's a negative imperative sentence, we use "Don't" or "No + -ing form".
2. Present the no + -ing form by showing some examples.
No smoking.
No parking.
T: What do these sentences mean?
Ss: They mean it's not allowed to smoke or park here.
T: Right. The no + - ing form is often used to express prohibitions.
Step 4: Practice
1. Ask students to complete the exercises in Activity 1 on Page 38. Check the answers together.
2. Group work: Divide the students into groups of four. Ask each group to make as many imperative sentences and sentences with no + ing form as possible within three minutes. Then have some groups present their sentences to the class.
Group 1: Don't run in the museum.
Group 2: No eating in the library.
3. Do a role- play. Ask two students to come to the front. One student acts as a museum guide and the other acts as a visitor. The guide gives instructions and rules to the visitor using imperative sentences and no + ing form. Then change the roles and let another pair of students perform.
Step 5: Production
1. Show a picture of a museum on the screen and ask students to write some rules for the museum. They can use the imperative sentences and no + ing form.
T: Look at this picture. It's a museum. Now please write some rules for it. You can work alone.
2. After writing, ask some students to read their rules aloud and the others comment.
S1: Don't touch the exhibits.
S2: No shouting.
S3: Be quiet.
