第 06 课 形容词 副词 一、形容词及其用法 形容词修饰名词，说明事物或人的性质或特征。 1) 形容词可以放在名词前面作定语。如： He has long hair and short legs. He has two big ears. 2) 形容词也可以放在系动词后作表语。如： He is very happy today. The cat is very lazy. 注意： 除 be 动词外， 系动词还包括 become, feel, get, look, seem, smell, sound, taste, turn 等。 这些词后面通常接形容词。 如： She felt a little ill. Leaves turn brown in autumn 有些形容词既可作定语，也可做表语。有些形容词只能做表语。 He is an ill man.（错） The man is ill.（对） She is an afraid girl.（错） The girl is afraid.（对） 这类词还有： well，unwell，ill，faint，afraid，alike，alive，alone，asleep，awake 等。 3）形容词作定语修饰名词时，要放在名词的前边。但是如果形容词修饰以-thing 为字尾的不定代词时，要 放在这些词之后，例如： something nice nothing important anything else 4) 用形容词表示类别和整体 某些形容词加上定冠词可以泛指一类人，与谓语动词的复数连接。如：the dead，the living，the rich，the poor， the blind，the hungry 二、副词及其基本用法 副词主要用来修饰动词，形容词，副词或其他结构。如： He speaks English very well.
