Modern technology provides wonderful tools for students studying abroad to stay in touch with their family and friends back home. In the dark ages of the Internet, this was mostly done by email. However, nowadays it is quite easy to chat using a messaging app. And now with high speed connections it is possible to have inexpensive and convenient voice chats or even video chats with someone far away. In fact, there are SO many ways to connect with people in another country that it is almost as though they live across town, rather than 10,000 kilometres away.
