We're the journalists in BBC. People of different ages from the UK emailed us to tell us
something. Here is what they said.

find I am so excited that I can't sleep. And I usually listen to music for hours during
the night.

We may hear such stories—kids lost their lives in cars in hot summer. According to a study, every
10 days in the US, a child loses his or her life in a car because of heatstroke(中暑). Of all such
accidents, the children's parents cause more than half of them. They forget leaving their kids in the
car.
16-year-old Areen learned about such an accident from a teacher. She thought, "Why don't we
do something about the problem?"
17-year-old Ayah was thinking about the same problem. She started working on a heatstroke
warning system(报警系统). Areen and Sarah did that too. After the three met at a science show, they
worked together and made a better system.
Their system can tell how many people there are in the car. People can see a car's indoor
temperature and CO2 levels (浓度)on a mobile app. If the CO2 levels get too high, the system will
tell the smartphone. And it will open the car window.
The team hopes their system can get more attention and that they can put it on the market some
day. Areen says, "I hope one day when people buy a car, the system will be there like a safe airbag."
They will also work hard together to make their system better. And they hope one day it can call the
police and show where the car is.
( )66. Who causes most of the heatstroke accidents?
A. Parents. B. Teachers. C. Bus drivers. D. Grandparents.
( )67. What is "the same problem"?
A. Some kids lost their lives in car accidents.
B. Some people have heatstroke on hot days.
C. Some people leave their kids alone at home.
D. Some kids lost their lives because of heatstroke in cars.
( )68. What can't the three girls' system do now?
A. Show people the temperature in the car.
B. Call the police where there is an accident.
C. Tell people the number of the people in the car.
D. Tell people if there is too much CO2 in a car.
( )69. What is the three girls' hope according to the last paragraph(段)?
A. They can get help from the policemen.
B. People can buy a car with their system.
C. Some people can help make the system better.
D. The system will become more important than an airbag.
( )70. What's the main idea of the text?
A. Heatstroke is a big problem. B. Keeping cool in summer is easy.
C. It's important to obey the traffic rules. D. Three girls help stop heatstroke in cars.

easy for the drivers, and they all felt very tired. But they made it. They travelled about 3,300
kilometres and arrived at the school on the evening of January 31. The next morning, the children,

We're the journalists in BBC. People of different ages from the UK emailed us to tell us
something. Here is what they said.
