Jennifer, a social worker whose practice focuses on adolescents, has been a therapist (治疗师 )for 20 years. For most of that time, she practiced in a traditional office, but she noticed how easy it was for her running partners to open up about their problems. She conducts all of her sessions outdoors and in all kinds of weather. “When somebody asks me if I specialize in walking therapy, I say, ‘No, that’s how I practice,’ ” Udler said. “I specialize in family systems theory. Walking in the park is just where I practice. ” Despite the lack of formal research, Jennifer believes strongly in the benefits, saying that it can be helpful. “We’ll be talking about ‘moving forward’ as we are actually moving forward on the path, building muscle memory of how they can move forward and leave the anxiety behind. ” And outdoor walking therapy doesn’t just benefit teens. Walking in the park is just where I practice. 以及下文“Despite the lack of formal research, Jennifer believes strongly in the benefits”可推断出詹妮弗•乌德勒对她的这种疗法非常自信。 第四段划线词所在句子“Jennifer believes strongly in the benefits, saying that it can be helpful”詹妮弗还是坚信这样做好处,她说这样做会有帮助。 并且下文对此进行了详细的解释说明: “We’ll be talking about ‘moving forward’ as we are actually moving forward on the path, building muscle memory of how they can move forward and leave the anxiety behind. Jennifer believes strongly in the benefits, saying that it can be helpful. “We’ll be talking about ‘moving forward’ as we are actually moving forward on the path, building muscle memory of how they can move forward and leave the anxiety behind. 第四段划线词所在句子“Jennifer believes strongly in the benefits, saying that it can be helpful”詹妮弗还是坚信这样做的好处,她说这样做会有帮助。 并且下文对此进行了详细的解释说明: “We’ll be talking about ‘moving forward’ as we are actually moving forward on the path, building muscle memory of how they can move forward and leave the anxiety behind. D。 C In May 2020, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (BOCOG) solicited medal designs worldwide, Hang Hai and his team set about preparing designs to submit to the BOCOG. Medals reflect the culture and creativity of the host country, and the team set two basic principles for their design: First, it should continue to adopt the jade (玉) culture incorporated into the design of the Beijing 2008 medals to highlight Beijing’s status as the world’s first city to host both the Summer and Winter Games; second, it should be innovative. “The medals of both the Beijing 2008 and 2022 Games are to honor the athletes and the Olympic spirit with traditional jade culture,” said Hang. Jade was chosen because it has been treasured in China and symbolizes good virtue. “The difference is that the 2008 medals used the jade as a material, while the 2022 medals represent the spirit of China’s jade culture,” he added. In the process of designing the medals, one team member, Lin Fan, conducted extensive research into China’s ancient bi. Lin finally chose a five-ring one associated with Fu Hao — a Shang Dynasty queen — as the prototype (原型) for the medals. In the final design, the opposite side of the medals has the Olympic rings engraved in the center, surrounded by five big concentric (同心的) rings, Auspicious cloud patterns, as well as snowflakes and ice patterns are engraved between the circles. The cloud patterns are intended to maintain a cultural connection with the 2008 Games, while the snowflakes and ice patterns speak to the characteristics of the Winter Olympics. The cases holding the medals are made of bamboo. “The International Olympic Committee inquired about the growth and processing of the bamboo to ensure it meets the requirements of a green Olympics and follows the concept of sustainable development,” Hang said. The medals passed the quality test and were accepted by the Games’ organizing committee on January 7, 2022. The medals are officially named Tongxin and they are the result of many people’s efforts. However, the smile on the athletes’ faces as they wear them makes it all worthwhile. 46. What’s the meaning of the word “solicited” in the first paragraph? The history of the Olympic medals. B. The inspiration for the 2008 medal patters. C. The significance of the 2022 Winter Olympics. D. The essential requirements of the 2022 medal designs. 48. How are the 2022 medals different from the 2008 medals? A. 2022 medals use the jade as a material. B. 2022 medals reflect the spirit of China’s jade culture. C. 2022 medals mark an innovation in the medal designs. D. 2022 medals follow the concept of environmental protection. 49. Why did the designers add cloud patters to the 2022 medals? A. To strengthen the bond with the 2008 Games. B. To show the charm of Chinese traditional culture. C. To stand for harmony between human and nature. D. To match with the features of the Winter Olympics. 50. What do we know about the cases holding the medals? A. They took a lot of time to process. B. They are decorated with a smiling pattern. C. Their materials were finally chosen by BOCOG. D. Their production spreads the idea of green Olympics. 46. A 47. D 48. B 49. A 50. 根据第一段“In May 2020, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (BOCOG) solicited medal designs worldwide, Hang Hai and his team set about preparing designs to submit to the BOCOG.(2020年5月,北京2022年冬奥会和冬残奥会组织委员会向全球solicited奖牌设计,杭海和他的团队开始准备设计作品提交给BOCOG。)” 故选A。 根据第二段“Medals reflect the culture and creativity of the host country, and the team set two basic principles for their design: First, it should continue to adopt the jade (玉) culture incorporated into the design of the Beijing 2008 medals to highlight Beijing’s status as the world’s first city to host both the Summer and Winter Games; second, it should be innovative.(奖牌反映了主办国的文化和创造力,团队为设计设定了两个基本原则:首先,应继续采用融入2008年北京奥运会奖牌设计中的玉文化,以突显北京作为世界上首个举办夏季和冬季奥运会的城市的地位;其次,设计应具有创新性。)” 根据第三段中““The difference is that the 2008 medals used the jade as a material, while the 2022 medals represent the spirit of China’s jade culture,” he added.(“不同之处在于,2008年的奖牌使用了玉作为材料,而2022年的奖牌则体现了中国玉文化的精髓,”他补充道。)” 根据第四段“The cloud patterns are intended to maintain a cultural connection with the 2008 Games, while the snowflakes and ice patterns speak to the characteristics of the Winter Olympics.(云纹旨在保持与2008年奥运会的文化联系,而雪花和冰纹则体现了冬季奥运会的特点。)” 故选A。 根据倒数第二段“The cases holding the medals are made of bamboo. “The International Olympic Committee inquired about the growth and processing of the bamboo to ensure it meets the requirements of a green Olympics and follows the concept of sustainable development,” Hang said.(奖牌盒由竹子制成。“国际奥委会询问了竹子的生长和加工过程,以确保其符合绿色奥运的要求并遵循可持续发展的理念,”杭说。)”可知,奖牌盒的生产传播了绿色奥运会的理念。故选D。 D There are various developments throughout the world. Among them, sustainable development is put great emphasis on. At present, sustainable development is applied to just about everything from energy to clean water and economic growth, and as a result it has become difficult to question either the basic assumptions behind it or the way the concept is put to use. This is especially true in agriculture, where sustainable development is often taken as the only measure of progress without a proper appreciation of historical and cultural perspectives. To start with, it is important to remember that the nature of agriculture has changed significantly throughout history, and will continue to do so. Medieval agriculture in northern Europe fed, clothed and sheltered a primarily rural society with a much lower population density than it is today. It had minimal effect on biodiversity, and any pollution it caused was typically localized. In terms of energy use and the nutrients captured in the product, it was relatively inefficient. Contrast this with farming since the start of the industrial revolution, competition from overseas led farmers to specialize and increase yields. Throughout this period food became cheaper, safe and more reliable. However, these changes have also led to habitat loss and to diminishing biodiversity. What’s more, demand for animal products in developing countries is growing so fast that meeting it will require an extra 300 million tons of grain a year by 2050, yet the growth of cities and industry is reducing the amount of water available for agriculture in many regions. All this means that agriculture in the 21st century will have to be very different from how it was in the 20th. This will require people change the ways of thinking thoroughly, for example, we need to move away from the idea that traditional practices are inevitably more unavoidably more sustainable than new ones. We also need to abandon the notion that agriculture can be “zero impact”. The key will be to abandon the rather simple and static (静态的) measures of sustainability, which center on the need to maintain production without increasing damage. Instead we need a more dynamic interpretation, one that looks at the pros and cons of all the various way land is used. There are many different ways to measure agricultural performance besides food yield: energy use, environmental costs, water purity, carbon footprint and biodiversity. It is clear, for example, that the carbon of transporting tomatoes from Spain to the UK is less than that of producing them in the UK with additional heating and lighting but we don’t know whether lower carbon footprints will always be better for biodiversity. What is crucial is recognizing that sustainable agriculture is not just about sustainable food production. 51. How do people often measure progress in agriculture? A. By its productivity. B. By its sustainability. C. By its impact on the environment. D. By its contribution to economic growth. 52. What does the author think of medieval farming practices? A. They aren’t necessarily sustainable. B. They are environmentally friendly. C. They have remained the same over the centuries. D. They have not kept pace with population growth. 53. What have specialization and the effort to increase yields resulted in? A. The shrinking of farmland. B. Competition from overseas. C. Localized pollution. D. The decrease of biodiversity. 54. What will agriculture be like in the 21st century? A. It will supply more animal products. B. It will go through immense changes. C. It will abandon traditional farming practices. D. It will cause zero damage to the environment. 55. What is the author’s purpose in writing this passage? A. To remind people of the need of sustainable development. B. To urge people to rethink what sustainable agriculture is. C. To advertise new criteria for measuring farming progress. D. To suggest ways of ensuring sustainable food production. B 52. A 53. D 54. B 55. 【51题详解】 细节理解题,根据第一段的“This is especially true in agriculture, where sustainable development is often taken as the only measure of progress without a proper appreciation of historical and cultural perspectives. 根据第二段的“Medieval agriculture in northern Europe fed, clothed and sheltered a primarily rural society with a much lower population density than it is today. It had minimal effect on biodiversity, and any pollution it caused was typically localized. In terms of energy use and the nutrients captured in the product, it was relatively inefficient. 和文章第五段“This will require people change the ways of thinking thoroughly, for example, we need to move away from the idea that traditional practices are inevitably more unavoidably more sustainable than new ones. 故选A。 根据第三段“Contrast this with farming since the start of the industrial revolution, competition from overseas led farmers to specialize and increase yields. Throughout this period food became cheaper, safe and more reliable. However, these changes have also led to habitat loss and to diminishing biodiversity. 根据第五段的“All this means that agriculture in the 21st century will have to be very different from how it was in the 20th. This will require people change the ways of thinking thoroughly, for example, we need to move away from the idea that traditional practices are inevitably more unavoidably more sustainable than new ones. 根据文章首段“There are various developments throughout the world. Among them, sustainable development is put great emphasis on. At present, sustainable development is applied to just about everything from energy to clean water and economic growth, and as a result it has become difficult to question either the basic assumptions behind it or the way the concept is put to use. 以及最后一段的“What is crucial is recognizing that sustainable agriculture is not just about sustainable food production. I was on a motorcycle trip in Spain. The temperatures were above 40 degrees every day, and I would finish each day completely wet in sweat. One day, as I rode along a hilly road I spotted a cafe shaded by trees. I pulled in and had a rest. Sitting across from me was a large noisy family. When I finally decided to leave, they were leaving too. Suddenly, the mum approached me. I know some Spanish, but not enough to understand this woman. I eventually understood she was saying that I looked hot. “Yes, I am,” I said. She then told me her family would go swimming in a faraway river and asked if I would like to join them. After I accepted her invitation, she guided me down a path into the forest, across an ancient stone bridge, and onto a river beach. Her family were already in the water and I dived in. The water was a delight, cool and seeming to cling (紧贴) to my skin. I didn’t want to overstay my welcome so after ten minutes I dressed, said goodbye and walked back. I’ve wondered ever since why the mum did it. She could have just let me go on my own. But despite being surrounded by a noisy family, she’d noticed this lone stranger sweating away and knew she could help. I think it’s perhaps easier to be kind to strangers, especially those you don’t share a language with. This stranger — I wouldn’t recognize her even if I saw her again — also taught me the importance of kindness. I thought of her when a man with heavy suitcases asked me to show him the way to the way to the correct tube platform at a particularly complicated station. Of course I said even though I was already late. 56. What was the weather like that day? (no more than 3 words) ____________________________________ 57. What did the mum do after the author accepted the invitation? (no more than 10 words) ____________________________________ 58. How do you understand the underlined part in Paragraph 3? (no more than 10 words) ____________________________________ 59. What lesson did the author learn from the mum? (no more than 10 words) ____________________________________ 60. What kindness have you received from a strange? Please explain. (no more than 20 words) ____________________________________ 【答案】56. Hot. 57. She guided the author to a river beach. 58. Those who don’t speak the same language. 59. Showing your kindness to strangers. 60. When I didn’t find any change on the bus, a kind stranger paid for me. 根据文章开头的描述“The temperatures were above 40 degrees every day, and I would finish each day completely wet in sweat.( 每天的气温都在40度以上,我每天都会汗流浃背地结束。)” 根据第二段的“After I accepted her invitation, she guided me down a path into the forest, across an ancient stone bridge, and onto a river beach.(我接受了她的邀请后,她带我沿着一条小路进入森林,穿过一座古老的石桥,来到河滩上。)” She guided the author to a river beach. 根据第二段的“I know some Spanish, but not enough to understand this woman. Those who don’t speak the same language.。 根据文章末段的“This stranger—I wouldn’t recognize her even if I saw her again—also taught me the importance of kindness. I thought of her when a man with heavy suitcases asked me to show him the way to the way to the correct tube platform at a particularly complicated station. Of course I said even though I was already late.( 这个陌生人——即使我再见到她,我也认不出她了——也教会了我善良的重要性。 Showing your kindness to strangers. When I didn’t find any change on the bus, a kind stranger paid for me. It’s up to all of us为主题的英语演讲比赛。 Dear fellow students, ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for your listening. Dear fellow students, We’ve all heard or read that certain energy sources are quickly being used up. Then, what can we do to help preserve energy? Some people don’t bother to turn off lights before going out. Others like to use single-use packaging bags. Though these things seem unimportant, a large quantity of energy has been wasted. So if you have these bad habits, get rid of them! Moreover, we can persuade our parents to join us. For example, we can walk more and use public transport, rather than taking their cars everywhere. In this way, we save petrol and help reduce the pollution problem! It’s up to all of us to save energy and our planet, let’s take action now. Thanks for your listening. It’s up to all of us为主题的英语演讲比赛。 词汇积累 用光:use up→run out of 关闭:turn off→switch off 大量:a large of quantity of→a great many 此外:morever→what’s more 2. In this way, we save petrol and help reduce the pollution problem! In this way can we save petrol and help reduce the pollution problem! 1】Though these things seem unimportant, a large quantity of energy has been wasted.(运用了though引导让步状语从句) 【高级句型2】For example, we can walk more and use public transport, rather than taking their cars everywhere.(运用了动名词作宾语) 听力 1-5 BCAAB 6-10 ACCAB 11-15 ABCBA 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2024-2025学年度第一学期第一次学情调研 高三 英语学科 (满分150分,用时120分钟) 第Ⅰ卷(满分115分) 第一部分:听力(共15小题,满分20分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1分,满分5分) 听下面5段对话。 1. B Jennifer Udler was in the middle of a 50-minute session with a patient when it started to rain. Walking and talking about anxiety and stress, she and her teenage patient got wet. But when they made it back indoors, Jennifer said, “ Hey, look at us! We’re wet, but we got through it! Now you can use that next time you have anxiety before and during an event. ” This kind of insight is key to her practice. Jennifer, a social worker whose practice focuses on adolescents, has been a therapist (治疗师 )for 20 years. For most of that time, she practiced in a traditional office, but she noticed how easy it was for her running partners to open up about their problems. After doing some research, in 2013, Jennifer founded Positive Strides Therapy, where she conducts sessions while walking outdoors. Jennifer says the adults in her practice welcome the humanizing effect of taking therapy outdoors. 41. What lesson did Jennifer teach her teenage patient through the rain? A. C In May 2020, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (BOCOG) solicited medal designs worldwide, Hang Hai and his team set about preparing designs to submit to the BOCOG. In the final design, the opposite side of the medals has the Olympic rings engraved in the center, surrounded by five big concentric (同心) rings, Auspicious cloud patterns, as well as snowflakes and ice patterns are engraved between the circles. 46 What’s the meaning of the word “solicited” in the first paragraph? A. asked for or try to obtain something from someone. B. changed attitude to something. C. became different. D. came to an agreement. 47. What is paragraph 2 mainly about? A. D There are various developments throughout the world.
