一.according to的用法
According to the local people, it’s a special and magical place.当地人认为这是一个特殊而神奇的地方。
according to意为“根据”,后接名词或代词,主要用来表示“根据”某学说、某书刊、某文件、某人所说的话等。如:
According to the US scientists, young people’s brains deal with
information faster than old people’s.美国科学家称,年轻人的大脑处理信息的速度比老年人的快。

二.keep sb./sth. away的用法
They wear special hats that keep the flies away.他们戴着驱赶苍蝇的特殊帽子。
keep sb./sth. away使……不靠近。如:
Would you please keep that dog away?

三.brush sth. off sth.的用法

He has the right to live in his own way.他有权按自己的方式生活。

六.brush sth from sth :把某物从某物上刷掉
例:He brushed the dirt off his jacket .他拂去了他夹克上的灰尘
Brush off :“被刷掉”

七.that 引导的定语从句
That 引导定语从句时,可以指物也可以指人,在定语从句中作主语或宾语,作宾语可省略
注意:that 前不能有介词,that 不能引导非限定性定语从句
1.that 指人,在定语从句中充当主语,可换为who
例:He is the kind man that often helps others .
2.that 指人,在定语从句中充当宾语,可换为who ,whom 也可省略

3.that 指物,在定语从句中充当主语,可换为which

that引导的定语从句
在复合句中作定语的句子为定语从句,被定语从句修饰的词为先行词,引导定语从句的词为引导词。我们在本模块主要学习由引导词that引导的定语从句。that引导的定语从句有以下特点:
1. 引导词that放在先行词及定语从句之间起连接作用,它在从句中充当句子成分——主语或宾语等。
2. that在从句中作主语时不能省略;that在从句中作宾语时可以省略。
3. that引导的定语从句既可以修饰表示物的词,也可以修饰表示人的词。
如:
The boy that dances well is Jenny’s brother.
