新素养 I watched the film Better Days (《少年的你》) with a sad feeling several days ago. The film deepened my understanding of school bullying (欺凌). I used to think school bullying was far from us, but that is not true. Many teenagers suffer from school bullying. The reason why we don't know about their suffering is that many of them don't dare to speak out about their experiences. Some did speak out, but no one around them is willing to help them go through their terrible days. The effect of school bullying on the victims can last a lifetime. It's time we did something about this problem.
First of all, I think we need stricter school rules. Many boys and girls bully others because the school rules hardly solve bullying incidents (事件).
Second, it is important for teachers and parents to discover the incidents in time. As students, we should report school bullying incidents to our teachers or parents as soon as possible.
Last but not least, we should try our best to prevent (阻止) school bullying from happening. Perhaps schools can pay more attention to students' mental (心理的) health since scientists have found bullies are nearly twice as likely to have mental health problems.
I'd like to call on all schools and families to pay more attention to school bullying. I hope all students can have a happy school life.
1 The writer thought school bullying was before watching the film.
A. rare (少见的) B. common C. necessary D. important
2 What's the Chinese meaning of the underlined word "victims"?
A. 欺凌者 B. 受害者 C. 反对者 D. 支持者
3 Why do many students bully others?
A. Because it is difficult for school rules to solve bullying incidents.
B. Because teachers don't dare to solve bullying incidents.
C. Because the victims never speak out about their experiences.
D. Because school bullying can have a lifelong effect on the victims.
4新考法·篇章结构题Which of the following is the structure of the passage?
A. B. C. D.
5 What's the best title for the passage?

A man sat at an underground station in Washington, D.C., and started to play the violin. It was a cold day in January. He played six pieces by Bach (巴赫) for about forty-five minutes. Thousands of people went through the station in a hurry, most of them on their way to work.
Three minutes went by and the first person, a middle-aged man, noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed down and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to go to work.
After a minute, the violinist received his first dollar: a young woman threw the money in the box and continued to walk. Then another few minutes went by and someone stood against the wall to listen to him, but the young man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.
During the musician's performance, only a few people gave response (反应) to him: six people stopped and stayed for a while, and twenty gave him money but continued to walk. When he finished playing, no one applauded (鼓掌). No one knew the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world.
This is a real story. Joshua Bell's playing at the underground station was organized by The Washington Post (《华盛顿邮报》) as part of a social experiment (实验). What we learn from this experiment could be: if we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music, how many other nice things are we missing?
1 When did the story take place?
A. On a cold morning.
B. On a warm afternoon.
C. On a rainy evening.
D. On a windy weekend.
2 Who was the first person to notice the musician playing?
A. A young woman.
B. A small girl.
C. A young man.
D. A middle-aged man.
3 How many people gave response to the musician's performance?
A. 6. B. 20. C. 26. D. 45.
4 Who was Joshua Bell?
A. A well-known reporter.
B. A poor artist.
C. An excellent violinist.
D. A famous pianist.
5 What was the writer's purpose of writing this passage?
A. To let us know the importance of saving time.
B. To make us pay more attention to nice things around.
C. To find out what people usually do at the underground station.
D. To do a survey on how many people were interested in music.

Traditional Chinese painting and dance are two important parts of the art world. But what about when they meet each other?
A dance drama called Poetic Dance: The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting (《只此青绿》) was shown at CCTV's Spring Festival Gala. It became popular overnight.
According to CCTV, this poetic dance got the idea from the about 900-year-old Chinese painting A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains (《千里江山图》). Created by Song Dynasty painter Wang Ximeng at 18, the painting is amazing in its sweeping size, rich coloration(颜色) and expressive details. It shows a Chinese blue-green landscape: mountains and groupings of endless rise and fall between cloudless sky and rippling(起涟漪的) water.
A The dance shows the traditional Chinese beauty of the painting. The dancers each had a different hairstyle, which looked like a mountain rock. B The clothes that they wore were shades of green and blue, which is also the poetic show of the mountains and rivers. C When the dancers swayed(摇摆) beautifully, the audience seemed to be looking at the moving mountains and rivers. D More than a thousand years later, green mountains and rivers still wow people as they did long ago.

Some old people carry a teapot (茶壶) when they travel. Chinese doctors are encouraging more people to drink hot water, especially for women.
But in Western countries, drinking hot water isn't common. Westerners often have drinks with ice, not just on hot days but almost every day.
There is a story online about a British man, who has been in Beijing for over five years. He visited a local café when going back to England.
