W: I prefer science fiction. Text 2 W: Good morning, Mr. Rockefeller. Mr. Flint wants to see you on a very urgent business matter. M: Send him in, please. Text 3 W: Can you turn the music off? I can’t concentrate on my study. M: Sorry, Jane. I thought you had finished your final exam already. W: Not until this Thursday. Text 4 M: Hi, Julia. Are you here on holiday? W: Yes, it’s a beautiful town and it’s so sunny here. So sad it’s my last day here. Text 5 M: Hi, Lee, I know you are from Seoul. I heard there are animal cafés in your city. Is that true? W: Yes, actually there is one near my apartment. I often go there. It’s great fun working on the computer surrounded by lovely animals. Text 6 W: Do you know what I want to do next summer? gMy goal is to climb Black Mountain. M: gAre you serious? Black Mountain is too hard to climb. Don’t you need special equipment, such as a time to sit down? M: I was leaving, but I can join you for a few minutes. W: Great. So tell me how is your family? M: Well, it keeps getting bigger. oWe have four kids now, all boys. W: Four boys? I suppose they keep you busy. M: They sure do. The baby is only one month old, so Sally is not working right now. And what’s new with you and Jim? W: Believe it or not. He’s home with the kids. M: You’re kidding. W: No, I’m not. pJim chose to work from home, so we could spend less on child care. I love it, because he does all the shopping and cleaning. M: Good point. Yikes, it’s already 12:30. I have to go now. qI have an important meeting this afternoon. Tell Jim I said hi. And I’ll call you, so we can have dinner sometime. W: Great. And say hi to Sally and the kids. See you. M: See you. Text 10 Good evening, everyone. I’m Jennifer Green. Thanks for joining us. rIn today’s edition of Perfect Life, our guest is Brock Bastian, a social psychologist from the University of Melbourne. Professor Bastian’s research focuses on pain, happiness and morality. sRecently, he published a book on the role of pain in promoting pleasure. The title of the book is The Other Side of Happiness. In this book, he argues that as we seek to escape pain or sorrow, we’re weakening ourselves and may lose our adaptive ability to deal with pain in the future. sPainful experiences are in fact vital for our development and how we face the unavoidable challenges ahead and they play a key role in helping us develop our ability to feel truly happy. tNow, let’s welcome Professor Bastian to talk about his ideas in the book. 72 walking stick, a GPS? W: I already asked about it. fI just need good walking boots. M: gAnd you’re not strong enough to climb such a big mountain. W: You’re right. I can’t do it now, but I’ll go running every weekend. Next summer, I’ll be fit enough to climb the mountain. M: gWell, good luck. But as your friend, I still think you should think twice. Text 7 W: hBen, what time does the talent show start? M: hAt three in the afternoon. W: Oh, no! I’m in oil painting class until three. M: What a pity! It takes ten minutes to walk from your classroom, and you are the first one to perform. iCan you tell your teacher you’ll leave ten minutes earlier? W: Not really. But if you don’t mind, jI can sing my song at the end of the show instead of the beginning. M: Yeah, that sounds perfect! We will finish up at about 5 p.m. W: Okay, agreed. Put me down as the last in the talent show right after the piano performance. M: Sure. No problem. W: Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. Text 8 M: kI’ve been so forgetful lately. It seems I can’t remember anything. W: lMaybe you should walk to school by a different street. That might jump-start your brain. M: Why would taking different streets to school help my memory? W: lSometimes doing regular activities in a slightly different way can help activate old memory pathways in our brain, or even build new ones. M: Oh yeah, I have heard that exposure to new sights, sounds and smells can help the brain work better. W: Right. mYou could even put some herbs next to your bed, so you wake up to different smells each morning. M: mDo you really think doing these things can improve my memory? W: mNot just your memory, but your ability to learn things, too. Give it a try. Text 9 W: nHi, Andy. I’ve read the story of your parents’ firm—My Staylinks—in the newspaper. oIt’s very successful in the UK, arranging accommodation for international students to stay with English families. M: Yeah, they are very proud of that. W: How did they come up with the idea of setting up the firm? M: The story goes back to the 1990s. oMore and more international students stayed with my family, as my parents volunteered to help find them suitable schools. W: pHow did you feel having strangers around in your home? M: pIt was great! We grew up together, really. After meeting those students and learning about their cultures, I began to consider going abroad myself. And my parents encouraged me to have a try. W: Really? How did you like your experience abroad? M: Absolutely amazing! It was nearly a decade ago. I made the long journey to China for a summer school program. I went to live with a local family who offered me an unforgettable experience. Three 73 years ago, my parents founded My Staylinks. I would certainly follow in my family’s footsteps and become a homestay host in the future, qeven though I’m busy running my own business now. W: So nice of you to do what your parents are doing. Text 10 Hi! rI’m working on a book about my travels. I’ve had the pleasure to see a lot more of the world than anyone my age could reasonably hope to. sA few years ago on a vacation trip, I made a video of myself dancing wildly in foreign places. I put it on the Internet. Some friends started passing it around and soon millions of people watched it. I was offered money to continue my travels. And since then, I’ve made two more videos that include seventy countries on all seven continents. tA lot of people wanted to dance along with me, so I started inviting them to join in everywhere I went. Here’s what I can report back. People want to feel connected to each other. They want to be heard and seen, and they’re curious to hear and see others from places far away. I share that idea. It’s exactly what drives me to travel. When I dance with people, I see them smile and laugh. It makes me truly excited. 2022 年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试(山东卷第二次) Text 1 W: Did you watch the show yesterday afternoon? M: No, I was busy with my report. Did you watch it? W: Yes, I went with my cousin. It was quite good. Text 2 W: Hi, Albert. I just received a call from Peterson’s company. They want to know if the brochures are ready. M: Well, the printing has been delayed because the factory went through a power failure the other day. Text 3 W: Excuse me. Where are the check-in desks for American Airlines? M: Over there. Desks numbers 47 to 50. W: Okay, thanks. Text 4 W: Steve, what would you say is your hometown? M: Um, that’s a difficult question because I’ve traveled around so much. Still, um, Toronto, I suppose. I’ve lived there for more than twenty years. I wasn’t born there, though. Text 5 W: Look at all the paper in the waste basket next to the copy machine. That’s really wasteful. There should be a better way to deal with it. M: Well, we should try to recycle all our waste paper. That would save money and help the environment. Text 6 M: Who was that? W: gIt was Cindy. She sounded very upset and said that she couldn’t follow the teacher. I knew the training class was making her upset. M: fHoney, calm down. She’ll be all right. W: I’m calling her teacher. Give me Miss Gale’s number. Maybe she could help her. M: Okay, okay, her number is 673–898–98. Text 7 M: Lucy, hI have a conflict in my schedule. I don’t know what to do. W: Can’t you rearrange your schedule? M: No, the other sections of the courses I need are 105 2023 年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (全国甲 & 乙卷) 1–5 BACCB 6–10 CBCBC 11–15 ACBBA 16–20 CACCA 2023 年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (全国新课标Ⅰ & Ⅱ卷) 1–5 CABBC 6–10 CBABC 11–15 ACABA 16–20 CCABA 2023 年 1 月普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (浙江卷 & 山东卷第一次) 1–5 CBACB 6–10 CABAA 11–15 BACBC 16–20 ACBCB 2023 年 1 月普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (山东卷第二次) 1–5 BBACA 6–10 BCCBC 11–15 CBACA 16–20 CABBA 2023 年 3 月全国英语等级考试第二级 (PETS–2) 1–5 CABAA 6–10 BCBCB 11–15 ABCAA 16–20 CBBCB 2022 年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (全国甲 & 乙卷) 1–5 BCBAC 6–10 ACACA 11–15 ACCBA 16–20 BBCAB 2022 年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (全国新高考Ⅰ & Ⅱ卷) 1–5 CBBCA 6–10 ABBCC 11–15 BAACC 16–20 ABABC 2022 年 1 月普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (浙江卷) 1–5 BABCB 6–10 ABACA 11–15 CACCB 16–20 ACBBC 2022 年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (山东卷第一次) 1–5 ABCBC 6–10 BCBCA 11–15 ABABA 16–20 BCACA 2022 年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (山东卷第二次) 1–5 CBBCA 6–10 ABBAC 11–15 ABCCB 16–20 BCCAA 2022 年 3 月全国英语等级考试第二级 (PETS–2) 1–5 BBCCA 6–10 ABCBC 11–15 ABAAB 16–20 CCBCA 2022 年 11 月全国英语等级考试第二级 (PETS–2) 1–5 CACAB 6–10 BCABA 11–15 CABAC 16–20 CBCAB 参考答案
