In contrast to rushing past overcrowded tourist landmarks, the new trend has emerged as a popular alternative to explore bustling markets, ancient streets, and charming alleys at a leisurely pace. The appeal of Citywalk caters particularly to the younger generation often caught up in demanding work schedules. As evidenced by the increasing popularity of hashtags like “Citywalk for vacation” on lifestyle sharing platform Xiaohongshu, with a staggering 465 million views and nearly 464,600 engagements, the trend is truly capturing unbelievable attention. Citywalk, or meandering through the urban landscapes, means the act of walking freely along city streets unburdened by exhaustive plans. It offers people an avenue to intimately experience urban culture and local traditions. Citywalk is not merely about sightseeing. It creates an opportunity for social interactions and deep connections with the cities. Citywalk routes are tailored to the specific interests of both outoftown tourists and locals. For tourists, the focus is on sharing local customs and traditions, while for locals, discussions revolve around the city's past, present, and future. The growing trend of Citywalk reflects a changing attitude towards life, embracing a warmer, more relaxed, and slowerpaced lifestyle. As Citywalk expands beyond firsttier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, to secondand thirdtier cities across the county, it brings fresh opportunities for the tourism industry, in such areas as dining, shopping, and accommodation. Governments in Beijing and Shandong have recognized the potential of Citywalk, incorporating it into their action plans to promote cultural tourism and leisure activities. In Shanghai, public bus lines specially designed have been introduced to elevate the overall Citywalk for participants. “By slowing down and delving into the narrow alleys, observing the lives of city residents, and immersing oneself in the context of museums and art galleries, one is entitled to embrace the pleasure of life,” said Luo Jun, a cultural tourism enthusiast. 4.What's the main reason for the popularity of Citywalk among young people? A.It mainly focuses on urban sightseeing. B.Social media offer many tempting videos. C.Busy work schedule limits the choice of people. D.Conventional tourist landmarks are losing charm. 根据第二段中的“The appeal of Citywalk caters ... in demanding work schedules.(城市漫步的吸引力尤其迎合了经常忙于繁重工作的年轻一代。)” C。 5.What's the meaning of underlined word “staggering” in the second paragraph? A.Astonishing. B.Rewarding. C.Embarrassing. D.Shrinking. A。 6.Which of the following statements is NOT Citywalk? A.An immersive route for foreigners to enjoy the alleys in Chengdu. B.A holiday travel to hurriedly visit crowded landmarks in Shanghai. C.A free walk including visiting museums and old towns in Qingdao. D.A leisurely tour along Qiantang River to experience city transformation. 通读全文,尤其根据第一段“An immersive and slowpaced Citywalk ... at a leisurely pace.(沉浸式的慢节奏城市漫步在中国各地正成为一种潮流。与匆匆走过人满为患的旅游地标相比,这种新趋势已成为一种流行的选择,人们可以悠闲地探索繁华的市场、古老的街道和迷人的小巷。)”可推知,城市漫步不包括“匆忙游览上海拥挤的地标的假日旅行”。故选B。 7.What have some governments done to promote Citywalk? A.Facilities in the museums have been enhanced. B.Cooperation has been strengthened among cities. C.Opportunities have been offered to thirdtier cities. D.Specific public transportation routes have been introduced. 根据倒数第二段中的“In Shanghai, public bus lines ... the overall Citywalk for participants. (在上海,专门设计的公交线路已经开通,为参与者提升了城市漫步的整体水平。)”可知,一些政府为了促进城市漫步引入了特定的公共交通路线。故选D。 Ⅴ 七选五 (2024·陕西省渭南市蒲城中学高二上质量检测)After ten years of teaching at a primary school, and always dreaming about my next travel adventure, I decided to follow my heart and combine it with a career. __1__ I have loved travel for as long as I could remember. You've made a wise decision to pay a visit to Jiuzhaigou. Jiuzhaigou, surrounded by mountains with evergreen forests all year round, is an incredible place in the northern part of Sichuan Province, which is wellknown for its beautiful lakes. The lakes are so clear that you can almost see the bottom. It is also a national park and was listed on The World Heritage List in 1992. Jiuzhaigou has become a popular tourist attraction for both Chinese and foreign tourists. Besides, the nice weather and convenient transportation there can make your trip more enjoyable. I'm sure you will have a good time travelling there. Looking forward to your coming. Yours, Li Hua (2024·内蒙古部分名校高二上期中)I sat down to watch a recorded TV play after my husband left for his nightshift job. Not ten minutes into my favorite TV play, I was alerted to the unmistakable beep (哔哔声) of the smoke alarm indicating a low battery. Sighing, I paused my program and got up from the sofa. I got a stepladder, climbed up it and quickly replaced the battery. The second I sat down and started watching my play, the beep started again. Evidently, the replacement battery was dead, too, so I went through all the motions again. I'd barely picked up the remote and pressed “Play” a third time when the alarm went off yet again. I gave out some unladylike comments. This time, I was one rung down when the same thing happened. By then, I was out of all the batteries. I had to search the entire house for some electronic equipment that housed the same kind. I finally found one in an old clock. I crossed my fingers, hoping the battery still had some juice, and popped it in. No luck! That round, plastic thing that was designed to save lives was about to make me have a nervous breakdown! Frustrated, I pulled the entire thing out of its “nest” and actually yelled at it to shut up before I tore it up into pieces. Holding it, I climbed back down and almost killed myself by practically falling over the dog and two cats who always watched every move I made and every breath I took. Driving my pets away, I threw the alarm on the table and reminded myself to sleep fully clothed in case I smelled smoke. Carbonmonoxide (一氧化碳) detection would be taken care of by our back up alarm downstairs. I glared at the troublesome item once more before walking off to seat myself on the sofa again. My program was already fortyfive minutes into the play because I'd forgotten to pause it. Within seconds, that sound hit my ears again! I realized that my frustration was not the solution to the problem. I took a deep breath and decided to deal with the issue more reasoningly. Maybe there was something else that was causing the alarm to go off repeatedly. I decided to call a technician to check the alarm and see if it needed any repairs. Meanwhile, I turned off the TV and decided to spend some quality time with my pets to get my mind off the alarm. My cats snuggled up next to me, and my dog lay at my feet, and I couldn't help but smile at their innocent faces. The technician arrived shortly. Upon examination, he found out that there was a faulty wire that was causing the alarm to go off despite the replacement of the battery. He fixed the issue, and the alarm finally stopped beeping. I thanked the technician and finally sat down to watch the remainder of the TV play peacefully. In the end, I learned that patience and reasonable thinking are the key to solving problems. It may not always be easy, but losing my temper wouldn't have done me any good. 1.unmistakable/ˌʌnmI'steIkəbl/adj. 察觉;发现;侦破(案件) 3.be designed to 被设计用于做;目的是 4.in case 以防万一 Holding it, I climbed back down and almost killed myself by practically falling over the dog and two cats who always watched every move I made and every breath I took. I climbed back down and almost killed myself, Holding it是现在分词短语作伴随状语,who引导定语从句,修饰先行词the__dog__and__two__cats,__I made和I took均是省略了that的定语从句,分别修饰every__move和every__breath。
