Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf and Beach Resort—Rio Grande, Puerto Rico Located on the northeast side of the island of Puerto Rico, this resort is next to El Yunque rainforest and is home to three swimming pools featuring a waterfall. Its inclusive meal plan package includes unlimited drinks, three meals per day and use of the tennis courts. Grand Hotel—Mackinac Island, Michigan In the upper Midwest, a stay at the nearly allinclusive Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island has been one of the most popular family vacation ideas in the country since its opening in 1887. The hotel is only reachable by ferry (渡轮) (no cars allowed), and offers family vacation packages that typically include meals (breakfast and dinner) and resort facilities. Sandpiper Bay AllInclusive Resort—Port St. Lucie, Florida Florida's Sandpiper Bay AllInclusive Resort offers something for everyone in the family: many swimming pools, water sports, golf, a kids' club and a private beach. And the resort is just two hours away from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando. C Lazy U Ranch—Granby, Colorado Not far from Rocky Mountain National Park, the worldfamous C Lazy U Ranch in Granby, Colorado, is an allinclusive guest ranch that features both classic ranch activities and modern kidfriendly activities. A seasonal children's program for ages 3 to 17 makes it an especially great pick for family vacations where the adults can use a little alone time while the kids go off and play. 篇章导读:本文是一篇应用文。文章主要介绍了四个美国家庭旅行的理想目的地。 21.Which resort is close to El Yunque rainforest? I'm going to see the northern lights. I am Scott's only customer tonight, but whether it's one person or a bridal party from Japan, the professional photographer and videographer loves to come put here to witness one of nature's most spectacular shows—and to share it with others. “I can't tell you how much joy I get from seeing the smile on people's faces. That's worth it right there. That's the reason why I do tours,” he says. I emerge from the van into minus 6 degrees. A bazillion stars sparkle, and the Milky Way pours overhead. What looks like a gray stream of cloud arches low over the horizon. “That's it!” says Scott. Really? That's it? I spent 13 hours in planes and airports, and then drove 2.5 hours to see a gray belt? “Patience,” he says. “It will get better. Wait till 2 am. That's usually the best time.” Aurora (极光) tourism is combined with winter activities like ice fishing, snow machine rides, and hot springs. As aurora guides and scientists will tell you, there's no guarantee of a sighting. But Fairbanks is a statistically good bet because of its northern location and freedom from coastal clouds, which can be a challenge for Anchorage. Travelers are recommended to put aside at least three nights to improve your chances of viewing, with the idea that you'll be up much of the night each time. Each time he wakes me and I step outside, it appears more glorious. At first, a fuzz the size of a honeydew floats along the horizon. Another time, a broad green line stretches across the sky, followed by a short tail. “Do you see the red?” Scott asks. He has me look through his camera. It can see more color than the naked eye. Finally, as if playing a visual symphonic tune, a giant line of phosphorous (发磷光的) green seems to swoop down to the treetops and dollop them with a curlicue swirl. I'm smiling inside and out. We can go now. 篇章导读:本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了作者去看北极光的经历。 24.What makes Scott like to do aurora tourism? A.The chance to take spectacular photos. B.The happiness of tourists. It was extremely beautiful in Majorca, Spain. The way the sun danced across the water and how the blue horizon was dotted with storybook sailboats were such beautiful scenes. I almost couldn't believe my eyes. My husband and I always dreamed about taking our kids on a trip around the world. It was something we always wanted to do “one day”. It was one of the things we talked at length about, when we imagined our life with the children we hoped we would have. Fourteen years later, we had three boys who were growing up faster by the day. It was time to make__good__on those plans. We spent dozens of hours discussing, researching and planning. We had to learn how to “road school” our kids and arrange time off from work. We renewed our passports, and then packed our bags. We showed our kids the world. It was about experiencing the dozens of flights and trains and taxis together. We showed them how wonderful, how diverse, and how amazing the world is. We wanted them to learn all that we had learned ourselves, through our own travels as young adults. But there was something more than that: What we really wanted is to slow down time. We wanted the days to last a bit longer, and the weeks to take their time. The years with our children are going too fast. We wanted to put the brakes on (阻止) our busy lives for a year, and just be with our kids. We wanted a break from the daily morning routine of making lunches, eating breakfast and rushing out of the door in time for school. We needed a family time-out. It was a wonderful two-month trip in Europe, full of incredible moments. And when we look back at our lives, I know we'll be glad we did it. I know we'll be happy that this is a chapter of the story of our family. 篇章导读:本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了作者一家美妙的欧洲之旅。 28.What was the author's attitude toward the trip when planning it? A.Worried. B.Calm. It has an overall land coverage of 64,300 hectares, but only 42,000 hectares is open to the public due to strict conservation reasons. It receives an average yearly rainfall level of about 6 feet and experiences frequent rain showers even during the dry season between April and October. One really interesting thing about the Zahamena National Park is that the unique territory of its highland has paved the way for the development of several ecosystems that exist at the same time in this park. This is the reason why the types of wildlife living in one area are different in another, which makes it quite exciting to explore. This protected area is divided into two parts, with a separate piece of land in the middle where many small villages are situated. These villages are inhabited by the members of the Sihanaka and Betsimisaraka ethnic groups. The Zahamena National Park gets its name from the local Zahana Mena tree, an uncommon type of hardwood that grows in the lower regions of this protected area. It is characterized by its resilient (坚韧的) wood that can be rather challenging to cut, join, shape and carve even with modern tools. Established as a strict natural highland reserve in 1927 (and one of the first of its kind in all of Madagascar), the Zahamena National Park was officially given its national park status in 1997 and was eventually opened to the public. Due to its remarkable territory and unique biodiversity, this national park was later listed as a key part of the collective UNESCO World Heritage Site called the Rainforests of the Atsinanana in 2007. 篇章导读:本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了马达加斯加的扎哈梅纳国家公园。 32.What can we learn about the Zahamena National Park? Here she talks to us about her experience and tips for traveling better. What are some things people can do to travel more sustainably? She turned and found a large dog standing behind her. “Where did you come from?” Emma asked as she got back her keys. The dog walked closer and pressed up against Emma's leg. He looked up at Emma and wagged his tail, Emma touched his ear, and her hand brushed against the collar (项圈) hidden beneath the dog's thick coat. Emma parted the dog's fur to see if there was a name tag attached to the collar. Instead, she found rows of shiny blue and yellow stones encircled the collar. “That is one fancy collar,” Emma said. “Someone must be looking for you.” Emma glanced up and down the street, but didn't find anyone who seemed like they were looking for the dog. She asked some passersby if they'd seen anyone, but they all shook their heads. It seemed like she had no other choice, so Emma took the dog home with her. She ate dinner, fed the dog some of the food she'd bought on the way home, then settled onto the sofa. The dog sat beside the sofa and rested his chin on her knee. Emma looked down into his soulful eyes. “Don't worry. I'll find your owner.” She patted the dog's head. Emma took the dog to her bookshop with her the next day. “I didn't know you had a dog.” Emma looked up at the man who'd just entered her shop. It was her regular customer Peter. “I found him, but he's not mine,” Emma said. “Well, I hope he won't scare away your customers.” Peter walked closer to the dog. Peter's words worried Emma. She kept a close eye on the dog, but he didn't bark at anyone. When a woman with a little kid entered the store, the dog even went over to sniff the child. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。 Looking at the wellbehaved dog, Emma decided to do something to help find his owner. With days passing, Emma finally got a call from a woman named Sarah. [精彩范文] Looking at the wellbehaved dog, Emma decided to do something to help find his owner. An idea hit Emma all of a sudden. She closed the bookstore early that day and rushed home with the dog. She took a photo of the dog sitting on the blanket she'd brought for him and designed a poster. Afterwards, Emma walked around the town putting up the posters she made. The dog followed her every step of the way. In the meantime, Emma posted on social media about the lost dog. Hopefully, Emma was waiting for someone to come forward to claim the dog. With days passing, Emma finally got a call from a woman named Sarah. Excitedly. Sarah explained that she recognized the rows of shiny blue and yellow stones encircled the collar immediately when she saw the post online. She clarified that the dog was her daughter's beloved pet who had accidentally escaped during a thunderstorm. And her daughter had been feeling depressed for his loss. Sarah couldn't thank Emma enough for taking care of her pet and helping him find his way back home. They met at Emma's house, and as soon as the dog saw his owner, his tail wagged joyfully. Witnessing a heartwarming reunion filled with joy and happiness, Emma felt all she had done was rewarding. ( 23 ) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
