Ask the Ss to think and share the answers to the following questions.
Scene 1:Imagine you meet your English teacher Mr Smith on the way to the classroom.How do you greet him?
Scene 2:Now,imagine a new student Peter is with you.He wants to greet Mr Smith.How would you tell Mr Smith about Peter?

1.Let the Ss read the conversation in 2a quickly,and then underline the sentences that Chen Jie uses to make introductions.
2.Show the sentences to the Ss as follows.
(1)Mr Smith,this is my new friend/classmate,Peter.
(2)Peter,this is our English teacher,Mr Smith.
3.Tell them the usage of “this is...”.
