Free talk The teacher starts the new class by asking the following question: What is your feeling about your new school life? The teacher will guide students to take about their new school life ,especially the school clubs. ①What clubs have you joined? ②What clubs are you interested in? ③What will you do if you want to start a new club? Football Club Yoga Club Dancing Club Chess Club Drawing Club Through the understanding of students' high school life, I cut into the theme of club, and laid the groundwork for today's course. 经过思考和讨论,对学生高中生活的了解,切入俱乐部这个主题,为今天的课程学习做铺垫。 Step 2: Listening 1. Pre-listening Before listening to the tape, the teacher asks students to predict the relationship between Maggie and Mr.Zhou. T: There are three steps you need to finish: ①Guess the relationship between Maggie and Mr Zhou. ②Go through the steps of part A1 and circle the key information. ③Put the steps in your own order. 2. While-listening A1 Listen to Maggie and Mr Zhou ' s conversation and put the steps it takes to start a new school club in the correct order . Write the letters in the box . c→e→a→d→b A2 Listen to Maggie and Mr Zhou ' s conversation again and complete the notes below . A3 Listen for emotions and personalities according to the wording and their intonation. 3. Post-listening (1) Retell The teacher will ask students to retell the main ideas of the conversation. Eg: purpose、type、 information (2) Summarize listening strategies The teacher will help students to summarize the listening strategies they used while listening. Cultivate students' ability to guess the relationship between characters and the content of the dialogue by reading the questions, grasp the important information according to the questions, and familiarize themselves with the topic of the dialogue before listening. Restate the listening content, understand the students' mastery, guide the students to summarize the skills and techniques, and improve the students' listening level. 培养学生通过阅读题干猜测人物关系和对话内容的能力,并根据题目把握重要信息,在听听力之前,对对话主题进行熟悉。 重述听力内容,了解学生的掌握情况,引导学生总结技能技巧,提升学生的听力水平。 Step 3: Reading 1. Pre-reading The teacher will ask students to predict items the proposal might include before reading. They can discuss with their partners and write some items the proposal might include they think. Eg: the club name / the club type/ the club aims 2. While-reading ① Predict contents The teacher asks students to read Maggie's proposal and compare their version with Maggie’s proposal. T: Please read the proposal carefully and compare your version with it. Any difference? Which is better? State your reasons. ② Reading for the structure The teacher will help students to know what a formal proposal is like and understand its structure. Post-reading(self-assessment) The teacher asks students to answer the following questions to have a self-assessment. Q1: Have you got a clear idea of how to start a school club? Q2: Do you have a good understanding of the structure of the proposal? Q3: Do you have any difficulty in words and expressions on pages 8-9? Predict before reading and ask students to think about what Maggie's proposal might contain. Summarize the features of the proposal to help students better understand its structure.
