One of the great things about living in China is how convenient it is to travel to different places, either within a city or across the whole country. China is especially famous for its high-speed trains which are among the most advanced (先进的) in the world.
Being from the UK, I’d never been on a bullet train before I came to China, as my country has no high-speed rail service. And as a fan of technology, I was impressed (留下深刻印象) by the high-speed trains in China.
The first time I took a bullet train was when I travelled from Beijing to Yueyang in Hunan Province for the Spring Festival. After I passed through security, I stepped onto the train, which looked like something from the future. On the UK trains there isn’t much room to move about in your seat. This is why I was surprised by all the space that passengers on Chinese trains have, even in second class.
Once the journey began, it was strange to hear about five different movies being played through people’s phones and computers. In the UK, most people don’t even answer phone calls on a train, because they don’t want to disturb other passengers. But at least I had a chance to practise my Chinese listening skills during that train ride to Yueyang, I suppose.
Back home, trains are famous for being late or even cancelled. And if a train does show up, it’s almost impossible to find a seat on it during the rush hour. Some stations don’t even have security, meaning you can just get on and off any train you like, and buy your ticket once you’re there. In China, however, things are a lot more different. And because everyone has their own seat, there’s no need to rush once your train arrives. Indeed, once your journey begins, you can just sit back and enjoy the beautiful views through the window.
I arrived in Yueyang safely and on time. And as I left the station, I couldn’t help but think that simple train journey summed up the intelligence (智慧), hard work and efficiency of Chinese people.
29.From the passage we know ________.
A.the writer hasn’t experienced a bullet train in his hometown
B.it is much quieter on the trains of China than on those of the UK
C.it is difficult for Chinese to travel from one place to another now

Everyone in the village know about the story of Kiko and his friends. Kiko and hisfriends were like famous people almost over just one night.
Kiko’s father read an article in the paper about the ship. Kiko’s parents were excited about the discovery (发现) made by their son and his friends.

He was the only gray cub (灰色幼崽) of the she-wolf. The other cubs had red in their hair. He was gray like his father. He was the strongest cub. He showed more anger than his brothers and sisters. He made more noise.
His father and mother live mainly upon meat. In his first month of life, he lives on mother’s milk. And now, at a month old, when his eyes had been open for about a week, he began to eat meat himself.
There came a time when there was no meat. For many days the cubs did not eat. They were too weak and tired to play. One-Eye, the cub’s father, was killed in the fight over food. Even the she-wolf left home to find meat. But there was nothing. One by one, the cubs died. Only the she-wolf and gray cub were left.
One day the gray cub ran out to hunt for his own food. He met a weasel (鼬) of his size. The rat-like animal ran at him and bit his throat (喉咙). He was nearly dead when the she-wolf arrived just in time to kill and eat the weasel.
The gray cub was not good at hunting yet, and still needed food from his mother. One day, the she-wolf brought him a lynx kitten (小山猫). While eating, he heard great noise. The kitten’s mother had followed the she-wolf here. The she-wolf and the she-lynx started to fight, and they would fight to the death. The gray cub ran forward and bit one of her legs. This was enough to give the she-wolf the time she needed. The lynx was dead, but the she-wolf was badly hurt. For about a week, she didn’t move. The gray cub had to find food for both of them.
Without his mother to take care of him, he learnt what life was about. Without meat there was no life. Animals had to eat other animals to live. The law was: EAT OR BE EATEN.
