I’m in trouble.

)Last week, we had a football match, and we lost. We played well, but one teammate didn’t do his best, I think. It was like he wasn’t even on the court! Disappointed by his behaviour, I said all this to my best friend. But he told everyone else what I’d said. I’m really angry with my friend -- what should I say to him? And should I say anything at all to my teammate?

There is an old American saying, “Loose lips sink ships.” This means that if you speak too much about something, especially to people who you don’t know so well, it’ll cause all kinds of trouble. Maybe now you’re in this situation. Forget all these unhappy things.

Perhaps most importantly, think about your own behaviour. When filled with anger, you would say whatever comes to your mind. You might hurt others. Take a deep breath, calm down, and always remember: think first, speak later.

In my view(观点), you should do what your parents ask. They’re much older than you and you should respect them. It’s their house you live in and their money you spend!

Here’s what you need to do. First, apologise to your teammate. Have a chat with him, and tell him directly and honestly that you were talking without thinking. Then tell your friend you’re angry with him for repeating what you said and making the situation worse, but you hope your friendship will move on.

When I was little, I was really little. But my dream was big. I dreamed of being a basketball player. I tried out for the teams at school, but I was never given a chance.
As I got older, I did grow a little bigger, but not a lot bigger. On my 12th birthday, I decided to try a new sport: running. I told Grandpa. “I’m going to be an athlete.”
“Dave.” Grandpa began gently, “if you can’t be big, you can do something big.”
I ran 12 miles on my 12th birthday. On my 13th birthday, I did it again, but I added an extra mile. On my 14th birthday, I ran 14 miles. 15 on my 15th, 16 on my 16th, and you guessed it—17 miles on my 17th birthday.
All this running inspired(激发)another big dream. Someday, I’d run the Boston Marathon(波士顿马拉松赛). I told Grandpa about my decision.
“But, Dave, you haven’t trained for the marathon. Are you sure you’re ready?” Grandpa asked. But he still promised to walk over and cheer me on.
I ran fast that day, But I fell at Mile 18 and was driven to the hospital. Later that night, I called Grandpa and told him I failed.
“No,” he said calmly, “you didn’t fail. You discovered something.”
“I did?” I asked.
“Yes, you discovered that big dreams don’t just come true. They take work. If you train and work hard, I promise to wait for you next year and cheer you on.”
I trained every day, running miles and miles. Sadly, just two months into my training, Grandpa died. He wouldn’t be waiting for my second Boston Marathon. I decided I’d run for him.
That day, I ran fast. “Keep going! You can do it!” His words filled my head as I forced my legs to make each painful step. As I crossed the finish line, I threw my arms in the air and cried, “Grandpa, we did it!”

Dr. Dolittle lived in a small town. Everyone in the town knew him. The dog and children ran after him.
He lived in a small house with a large garden where he kept many animals. His favorite animals were Dab-Dab, a duck; Jip, a dog and Polynesia, a parrot. He also kept cats, a cow and a baby cow, a horse and so on.
Dr. Dolittle didn’t have many patients. Most people didn’t like all of his animals, so when they were ill, they went to a doctor in another town.
So he had to sell most of his furniture and clothes. Then he had enough money to buy food for himself and his animals from the only patient, the cat’s-meat-man who sold him meat for the cat.
One day, the cat’s-meat-man said to him, “Why don’t you stop being a doctor for people and become a doctor for animals instead? I’m sure that you know a lot about animals—more than any vet in the world. You wrote a wonderful book about cats. I’d send all the people with sick dogs or cats to you.”
When the cat’s-meat-man left, Polynesia, the parrot, flew onto the table. “He’s right, Doctor,” Polynesia said, “You should become an animal doctor.”
“There are a lot of vets,” Dr, Dolittle said. “But you’d be the best vet of all. I’m not the only animal that can talk. All the animals can talk. Each kind of animal has its own language. I’ll teach you mine if you like.”
“Yes, please,” Dr. Dolittle said. He opened a drawer (抽屉) and took out a notebook and pencil. “Will you teach me the parrot’s ABCs first?” he asked.
Polynesia agreed to teach Dr. Dolittle parrot language. Later that day, Jip came into the room. Polynesia said, “He’s talking to you, Doctor. He is telling us that it has stopped raining, and he wants to ask you a question.”
Every day, Dr. Dolittle learned the languages of the animals. When people found out he was now an animal doctor, they brought their sick pets to him.
One day, a horse said to him, “You’re a much better animal doctor than the vet. You knew I couldn’t see well, and you made glasses for me.”
The horse was very pleased. He could see very well. He told all his friends how clever Dr. Dolittle was, and they told all their friends. Soon, many animals came to see him.
Finally, every animal that lived in or near the town became the doctor’s patient. He was very happy, and he liked his life very much.
