Recently, a Douyin influencer named “Xiaozhang the worker” went popular because of her “How-to” video series. In the videos, she teaches the most basic life skills, such as how to see a concert and how to take the underground. She has quickly got over 2 million followers on Douyin. The information from Google showed that nearly 40 per cent of people born between1997 and 2012 prefer Douyin for online searches.
In some ways, the rising popularity of “How- to” videos shows the fact that young people’s search habits have changed. It’s popular around the world that young people use social media platforms for searching.
Li Zhouzi, a 14-year-old girl from Shanxi, likes to search on Bilibili. She says that by doing this, she gets information more quickly and easily. For example, when using traditional search engines for knowledge of physics, she would always lose her way in a sea of hard-to-get terms. Instead, videos on Bilibili can offer detailed explanations that are often clearer than those she can find somewhere else.
Being able to form links with real people can also give searchers a strong sense of trust. Hu Tian is a 13-year-old girl from Sichuan. She likes searching for information on Xiaohongshu, a lifestyle-sharing platform. She can see notes with photos and texts posted by people who also have a linking for it. “I trust them more than some reviews from unknown people on search engines.” she said.
Like Hu, young people search for lighter topics on social media platforms while they leave the heavier topics to traditional search engines. Zhou Yaokai, a senior 3 student from Sichuan is one of them. When forming his personal opinions on hot topics, he prefers to turn to traditional websites of organizations. “In this way, the information is worth believing.” he said.

33. Paragraph 5 mainly tells us ________.
A. how people often raise topics on social media platforms
B. when young people prefer to use traditional search engines
C. how young people changed their search habits
D. where people can search for hot topics
34. Which of the following is true according to the text?
A. Douyin has changed most people’s living style.
B. Some teenagers prefer Bilibili because it may provide information more quickly and easily.
C. Xaio Hongshu is a sharing platform notes which only shares photos and texts.
D. Hu Tian prefers official websites of organizations as the information is worth believing,
35. Which shows the structure of the passage?

Up they got, early next morning, out of the silken beds, and they saw that the sun was shining brightly and that the wind was blowing from the South.
Jip smelt the South wind for half an hour. Then he came to the Doctor, shaking his head.
①
“I smell no snuff (鼻烟) as yet,” he said. “We must wait till the wind changes to the East.”
But even when the East wind came, at three o’ clock that afternoon, the dog could not catch the smell of snuff.
The little boy was terribly disappointed and began to cry again saying that no one seemed to be able to find his uncle for him. ② But all Jip said to the Doctor was, “Tell him that when the wind changes to the West, I’ll find his uncle even though he is in China— so long as he is still taking Black Rappee snuff.”
Three days they had to wait before the West wind came. This was on a Friday morning, early—just as it was getting light. A fine rainy mist lay on the sea like a thin fog. And the wind was soft and warm and wet.
As soon as Jip woke up, he ran upstairs and poked his nose in the air. ③
“Doctor!” he cried. “I’ve got it! Doctor! Doctor! Wake up! Listen! I’ve got it! The wind’s from the West and it smells of nothing but snuff. Come upstairs and start the ship— quick!”
So the Doctor tumbled out of bed and went to the rudder to start the ship. ④
“Now I’ll go up to the front,” said Jip, “and you watch my nose— whichever way I point it, you turn the ship the same way. The man cannot be far off—with the smell as strong as this. And the wind’s all lovely and wet. Now watch me!”

Feel down? Hug a tree! Recently, many Chinese young people have turned to trees to help with their stress. Although it sounds strange, there’s a science behind the act of tree- hugging.
It can be explained by the “biophilia hypothesis (亲生命假说)”. It was pointed out by US scientist Edward Wilson in 1984. He said that humans are born to love being around other living things. Humans’ love for nature is “in our DNA”. This idea helps to explain why people prefer natural, green views to city views. It’s also one of the reasons why people love cute pets.
Some studies have looked into why tree- hugging can help with our health. A study in 2021 reported that the activity can increase oxytocin (催产素). It’s a hormone (荷尔蒙) behavior for feelings. The higher the level of oxytocin is, the calmer and happier you may be. Hugging trees for only 21 seconds can lead to an increase in oxytocin.
Another hormone called cortisol (皮质醇) is a symbol of stress. The brain produces more cortisol when the person is nervous, angry, or very sad. Hugging trees helps cut cortisol production, which makes us feel better.
Although the activity is helpful to us, it’s important to keep in mind that we shouldn’t hurt nature while doing it. Trees often hold valuable ecosystems (生态环境). Many small living things live on the tree-and they are too small to be seen. You may want to be gentle when hugging trees- just like how you hug a friend!
41. Which of the following can be explained by the “biophilia hypothesis”?
A. People feel relaxed in parks. B. People like doing exercises.
C. People love visiting historical sites. D. People like to live in cities.
42. How might people feel with a lower oxytocin?
A. They might feel calm and happy. B. They might feel angry and sad.
C. They might feel relaxed and scared. D. They might feel happy and sad.
43. What is the right relationship between the hormone cortisol and our feelings?
A. We feel sadder with a lower level of cortisol.
B. We feel angrier with a lower level of cortisol.
C. We feel more stressed with a higher level of cortisol.
D. We feel much happier with a higher level of cortisol.
44. What can we learn from the story?
A. Hugs give people energy. B. The “biophilia hypothesis” is partly wrong.
C. Tree- hugging is harmful to the environment. D. Hugging trees in the right way helps reduce stress.
45. What kind of magazine may the article be taken from?

The world is changing every minute.
As AI art generators (生成器) take the world like a storm, many unexpected things happen at the same time. We don’t know whether it is good or not.
People are not sure if their works should be thought as art at all. Artists spent a lot of time putting their inner worlds onto these works.
AI painters can create more than 1,000 new works of art with every tap of the enter key on a keyboard. But a mass-produced (批量生产) print of the Mona Lisa isn’t worth as much as the real Leonardo da Vinci’s painting. Should anyone pay for these mass-produced things? And if an artist puts AI masterpieces into the market, what should the price be?
AI art is a program learning from the work of artists to create a new piece according to the needs of a human. But who paints the artwork, the machine or its user? And can the original (原始的) artists ask for money for copyright (版权)?
Such questions make the problem more difficult to solve, and that also leads to arguments against using AI-generated art at the art market.
Once we’ve answered those questions, we can face the really big problem: When an AI-generated painting wins an award, who should the prize be given to?
What’s worse, AI art generators copies artist’s works without telling them, that may even break the law.
So, next time you use AI technology to produce some works, be careful.

Growing up
Growing up is like a long journey and I have learned a lot by far.
Learning about the world is part of growing up. I learn through books about people in different times and places. At home, my parents teach me how to be a kind person. Besides, I have learned how to get along with classmates and teachers at school.
However, there are difficulties during the journey. For example, I couldn’t achieve a balance between schoolwork and hobbies. Luckily, my teacher Mr. Li advised me to manage my time well.
So, it is Mr. Li who has a great influence on me. He is a person of great wisdom. He teaches me not only the knowledge in books but also the knowledge out of books. Whenever I feel worried, I will go to ask him for advice.
Though growing up is hard for teenagers, we should never lose heart when meeting with difficulties. Our parents, teachers and classmates will always be there for us.
