This park frequently gets the most visitors of any seasonal park in North America. One reason is its numbers of wild rides. For younger kids, the television characters are very exciting. You can see Fred Flinstone, Sponge Bob SquarePants or Dora the Explorer. There are often rides starring these characters that are more popular among younger children. There 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 􀪋 49 are plenty of fantastic shows for families to watch as well. What􀆳s more, the admission to the park includes the nearby Splash Works. Another popular theme park is Galaxyland Amusement Park. Amusement park􀆳s fun shouldn􀆳t be limited to just the summer months, and Galaxyland is aware of this. As the world􀆳s largest indoor amusement park, Galaxyland packs in it 25 breathtaking rides and attrac- tions. It is also home to one of the world􀆳s lar- gest indoor roller coasters. Galaxyland remains one of the most popular theme parks in Canada for older children because of attractions like the Rock ‘ N􀆳 Ride Dance Party. This party com- bines music, music videos and unlimited rides from 8 p. m. to midnight. One of the most visited amusement parks in Canada on the west coast is Playland. Play- land, unlike other Canadian theme parks, has a long history in its city. Playland has all the fun of a carnival, with scary houses,merry-go-rounds (旋转木马) and a ferris wheel. There are also modern additions in the park, like a climbing wall for kids and a video game room. Playland is open from spring through fall, though only on weekends and holidays before June 18 and after September 1st. ( ) 1. That is the key here and the answer can be different for different people. For those who love sports, adventure travel can have a whole different meaning than for those who like history. The physical travel types that you can find include such adventure travel as white water rafting (白浪漂流),kayaking or climbing and hiking to some mountains some- where. To the hiker, backpacking across Ireland might be their adventure. For this type of per- son, adventure travel almost always includes something physical. Often the goal is to push their body􀆳s limits and test their individual en- durance (耐力). For those who less want to climb mountains, adventure travel might mean travel- ling to Nepal and taking in the local festivals. Wine tasting in Italy is also vacation adventure for the more relaxed traveller who enjoys peace and comfort. Anything that is opposite to the normal scope (范围) of the traveller􀆳s lifestyle defines adventure. Adventure travel is not necessarily a one- size-fits-all type of vacation. Adventure depends on the person􀆳s physical limits, how much money the person has and what the person enjoys do- ing. Going beyond the normal is adventurous for many people. If your life is quite busy, then sit- ting on a beach in the moonlight with your fami- ly might be an adventure for you. The point is not what you do but that you have a good time and that it is an adventure for you—not for the person next to you. Do not sit home this year when vacation time rolls around. Go beyond your normal rou- tine and try something new. If you usually spend your vacation sun bathing on a beach, try hiking instead, through the mountains. Look a- round you, think beyond your comfort zone and head out on an adventure vacation. ( )5. For a quiet traveller,he is most like- ly to choose . A. backpacking across a country B. wine tasting in a bar C. hiking to some mountains D. white water rafting ( )6. To have an adventure travel, the most important is . A. whether you enjoy yourself B. whether you try something dan- gerous C. where you go for the travelling D. what you do in the travelling ( ) 7. From the passage, we can make a conclusion that . A. adventure travels always include something dangerous B. adventure travels will cost you a large sum of money C. anything that goes beyond the normal is an adventure travel D. adventure travellers like to do things to the limits of their body ( )8.
