Step 2 Presentation 1.Play the recording for students.Ask students to listen and repeat the words in the chart.Pay attention to the sounds of the letters a,e,i,o,u.They are different from the sounds in Unit 1 and each sound is short. 2.Play a short video about the pronunciation of /æ/,/e/,/ɪ/,/ɒ/,/ʌ/.Let students know the pronunciation skills about these phonetic symbols. 3.Ask some students to read the words.Give praise to those whose pronunciation and intonation are both excellent.Correct wrong pronunciation.Then read together. Step 3 Work on A 1.Ask students to read the words in A.Then put them under the correct sound. 2.Check and correct the answers.Then ask some students to read the words. Step 4 Work on B 1.Play the recording for students.Ask them to look at the groups of words.Try to read the new words according to the sound of the first word in each group. 2.Then ask some students to read each group of words.Correct them if they pronounce one wrong.
