Step 2 Work on 1 1.Play the recording for the students.Ask the students to listen and repeat the words in the chart. 2.Play a short video about how to pronounce /æ/，/e/，/ɪ/，/ɒ/，/ʌ/.Let the students notice the mouth shapes. 3.Ask some students to read the words.Give praise to those whose pronunciation and intonation are both excellent.Correct wrong pronunciation.Then read the words together. Step 3 Work on 2 1.Ask the students to listen and repeat the words by following the recording. 2.Ask the students to put the words into the correct groups. 3.Ask some students to show their answers. 4.Check the answers together. 5.Read the words again together. Step 4 Work on 3 1.Read the words in 3 for the students.Ask the students to listen and repeat.Let them underline the phonetic symbols they learned. 2.Ask some students to read.Correct their pronunciation.
