Grammar教学设计
I. Text analyze (语法教学的三维目标:形式、意义和语用)
(1)Form:
Pronouns are words that is used to replace a noun or noun phrase.
(2)Meaning:
Personal pronouns: They provide clarity by specifying who is performing an action (as subjects) or who is affected by an action (as objects).
Adjective Possessive Pronouns: Used before nouns to show ownership or relationship (e.g., "My," "Your," "His," "Her," "Its," "Our," "Their").
Noun Possessive Pronouns: Stand alone to indicate possession without a following noun (e.g., "Mine," "Yours," "His," "Hers," "Ours," "Theirs").
(3)Usage (Context of Use):
1.Introducing New Information: Pronouns are used to introduce new people or objects without repeating their full noun forms.
2.Describing Interactions: They illustrate the interactions between people or between people and objects.
3.Maintaining Cohesion: Pronouns help in maintaining the flow of information by referring back to previously mentioned subjects or objects.
II.Teaching Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1.Correctly identify and use subject and object pronouns.
2.Recognize and use adjective possessive and noun possessive pronouns appropriately.
3.Understand the grammatical roles of pronouns in sentences.
4.Apply personal pronouns and possessive pronouns in conversation and writing to enhance clarity and coherence.
III.Teaching procedures
Step 1.Lead-in and Review
Begin the class by reviewing the previous lesson through a short oral question-and-answer session.
Step 2: Observation and Identifying Common Features
Begin by displaying sentences from the reading passage, such as:
a) I looked up at Ms Chen. My eyes met hers.
b) In fact, this is my first lesson for all of you.
Ask students to observe the structure of these sentences and identify the key elements that indicate the possessive nouns. Encourage them to discuss in pairs or small groups before summarizing the grammar rules as a class.
Step 3. Distribute the reading passage among the students. 1.Instruct them to find more sentences that use the structures observed in Step 2.
2.Encourage them to work in pairs to identify and underline these sentences, fostering collaboration and peer-learning.
Step 4. Once students have identified the sentences, lead a class discussion to formulate the grammar rules of using pronouns. Use the identified sentences as examples to illustrate the rules.
Step 5. Summarize the rules of possessive nouns - types, formation, and usage. In the process of summarizing, provide various sentences to explain the rules and ensure that students can continue to practice.
Summary of Grammar Rules:
1.Usage
(1) Personal pronoun 人称代词
人称代词是用来指人、动物或事物的代词。分为主格(Subject pronouns)和宾格(Object Pronouns)。
(2) Adjectival possessive pronoun 形容词性物主代词
形容词性物主代词相当于形容词,不能单独使用,用在名词前,起修饰作用,表明该名词所表示的人或物是谁的或属于谁。
(3) Nominal possessive pronoun 名词性物主代词
名词性物主代词相当于名词,必须单独使用,后面不能跟名词,可以做主语、宾语、表语。
公式:名词性物主代词=形容词性物主代词+名词 (有名则用形,无名就用名)
step 5. Use a video to help students understand the grammar rules better.
Engage in various activities to practice using pronouns in both written and oral communication, focusing on the correct form and context within sentences. (practice)
Step6: Instruct students to complete a diary entry using the correct possessive forms provided in brackets.
This exercise will help students practice using possessive nouns in a narrative form, such as:Why did he answer "I’m fine, thank you, sir"?
Because it was the first time I met my English teacher, Ms Chen, and I wanted to express my politeness and respect.
Provide words like "my," "your," "his," etc., and have students decide the appropriate possessive form needed to accurately complete sentences in the diary entry.
Stage 3: Applying Possessive Nouns in Personal Narratives and Group Discussions (Production)
Step 1: Diary Entry with Pronouns
Students are tasked with writing a diary entry about their first lesson at junior high school, incorporating the correct use of pronouns provided in brackets. This exercise helps students practice using pronouns in a narrative context, enhancing their ability to write coherently and personally.
Example prompt: "Today was my first lesson at junior high, and it was an English class with Ms Chen. When I looked up at her, I realized how important it is to learn and think at the same time."
Step 2: Group Discussion on First Lesson Experiences
Divide students into small groups and provide each group with discussion questions that encourage the use of pronouns to describe their first lesson experiences.
· Example questions:
· "What did you learn in your first lesson, and why was it significant to you?"
· "Can you describe a moment during your first lesson when you felt particularly engaged or surprised?"
Step 3: Share a teacher's model narrative that effectively uses pronouns to recount a first lesson experience. This serves as an example for students to follow.
Example narrative: "On my first day, I walked into the classroom and saw the whiteboard filled with new vocabulary. Ms Chen told us that learning a language is about communication, not just memorization. That was a truly enlightening lesson for me."
Step 4: Group Sharing of First Lesson Stories
Invite each group to present their first lesson stories to the class, focusing on the correct and meaningful use of pronouns to convey their experiences.
Encourage students to reflect on how pronouns help to make their narratives more personal and relatable.
Step 5: Reflecting on Pronoun Usage
After the presentations, lead a class reflection on the use of pronouns in their stories. Discuss how pronouns can add a personal touch and clarity to their writing.
Ask students to consider the impact of using pronouns versus repeating nouns in their narratives.
VI.Assignment:

(remember to use pronouns).
