Step 1 情景导入
Teacher:There is something wrong with my computer.I’m going to do some DIY work to fix it.Do you know what DIY stands for?
Step 2 完成教材Comic strip的任务
1.让学生听录音,回答下列问题。
(1)What does Hobo get?
A new house.
(2)What does Hobo need to build the house?
Some tools.
(3)Will Eddie help Hobo?
No,he won’t.
2.让学生仔细看对话,找出下列句子的正确顺序。
( 2 )Hobo is very excited but he doesn’t know what to do.
( 6 )Eddie doesn’t want to help him any more.
( 4 )Eddie says to him,“You’d better get some tools.”
( 1 )One day,Eddie brings Hobo a new house.

Step 3 完成教材Welcome to the unit部分Part A的任务
1.让学生列举一些在日常生活中见到的工具。

1.让学生听Part B的录音,了解对话大意,并回答下列问题。

She needs some paper,glue and a pair of scissors.
(3)Does Suzy like DIY?Why?
Yes.Because she enjoys making something new.
2.让学生仔细阅读对话,完成下面的短文填空。
Millie doesn’t know what DIY is.Suzy tells her that DIY stands for “do-it-yourself”.When you do DIY,you make ,repair or decorate things yourself instead of paying someone to do it.Suzy is going to make some paper roses.To make these roses,Suzy needs some paper,glue and a pair of scissors .Suzy likes DIY,because she enjoys making something new.That’s fun .
3.再放一遍录音,让学生跟读,注意模仿语音和语调。
4.让学生两人一组练习对话。老师请几组学生上台展示。
◇教学反思◇
本节课是第四单元第一课时,从自己动手做的话题引入本单元重点,让学生对DIY产生好奇,激发学习兴趣。课堂上大量的互动也让学生有了开口说英语的热情。但由于课堂时间有限,很多学生都没有机会发言,课后可与同学互相搭档练习。
