hh3+ 必修第二册 课时作业 7 CULTURAL HERITAGE Ⅰ. 阅读理解 " (2024·福建宁德高三期末) “To repair ancient books, we have a lot to do,” says Song Jing, 34, who has been working in the restoration division for ancient books at the National Library of China in Beijing for eight years. Before starting a restoration project, Song and her colleagues have to evaluate the subject to consider what problems can be solved through restoration and those that cannot. Fearing the chemicals in commercially produced pastes (胶水) might harm the books, they have to make the glues they need by themselves, starting from removing starch (淀粉) from flour. “The restoration also requires high levels of control in brushing the paper. If the pressure is not properly controlled during the brushing process, the paper may tear, but if the touch is too light, the paper won􀆳t stick,” Song explains. Song was determined to join the field from an early age. As a child, she was attracted by documentaries about the world􀆳s cultural relics (遗 物) and became deeply interested in the art of artifact restoration. In senior middle school, those earlier experiences helped her to set her sights on becoming a master restorer of ancient books. There were not many schools offering cultural-relic restoration courses back then, and her dream destination, Peking University, only offered openings every other year. As Song looked into undergraduate curricula (课程的) arrangement for that particular field of study, she found it was mostly related to chemistry. Therefore, she chose to start a chemistry degree at Fudan University in Shanghai in 2008. In her spare time, she continued to read up on cultural relics and study how museums operate. “ I got to learn how certain aspects of chemistry are going a long way in restoring cultural relics,” she says. After graduating from Fudan, she was accepted as a master􀆳s candidate to the cultural heritage preservation program at Peking University. From then on, she has been on a mission to make her dreams a reality. 1. What will ruin restoration work? A. Brushing the paper. B. Man-made glue. C. Removing starch. D. Incorrect assessment. 2. Which of the following best describes Song􀆳s job? A. Demanding and boring. B. Complex and challenging. C. Complicated and dangerous. D. Entertaining and profitable. 3. Why did Song study chemistry at Fudan University in 2008? A. She didn􀆳t reach the requirement of Peking University. B. Only Fudan University offered her favorite course. C. She wanted to be better prepared for her dream occupation. D. Her interest had shifted from book restoration to chemistry. 4. What can we learn from Song􀆳s story? A. History mirrors future. B. Courage is the key to achievements. 3 C. Education breaks down barriers. D. Commitment and hard work pay off. # (2023·四川成都高中 毕业班第三次诊断性检测) Mexico􀆳s Yucatan Peninsula broke their record for most visitors in a year back in 2019, with over 3. 2 million visitors. Recently, Mexico􀆳s first long- distance hiking and cycling trail (步道) has been completed here, which will attract tourists from all over the world once more. The tourist attraction and trail, which goes through local cultural relics, will give visitors a wonderful glimpse into the incredible history to Maya􀆳s history. Considering that most tourists travel to Mexico, particularly Cancun, with the 5-star hotels and perfect beaches, getting them to visit the other history-filled areas isn􀆳t always so easy, unless they happen to be history lovers. But with the newly constructed Camino del Mayab, tourists can experience the rich Mayan culture, history, food, and civilization. The trail is a 68-mile journey that hopes to aid in bettering the lives of the 14 communities of Mayan descendants (后代) that live along the trail. The journey can take three days to cycle or five days to walk. Those on the journey will begin in the town of Merida, and then head to many abandoned haciendas, which remind you of Mayan labor. Along the trail, visitors can purchase handicrafts and taste the delicious food of the Yucatan and the Maya from local stores and restaurants. All throughout the trail is also a jungle where various birds and other types of animals are found. The trail ends at the very top of the pyramid of Kulkulkan at Mayapán. The Yucatan civilization collapsed during the 9th century and its people became slaves in the 15th century. Yet, the locals worked to keep their ancestral homes, animals, cities, foods and culture work for themselves, rather than being overrun by large hotel companies. In this way, the Yucatan civilization managed to remain strong in the region. And whether you􀆳re a lover of Mexico or not, or possibly one that enjoys these types of camino walks, the Camino del Mayab is definitely worth the time. 5. What is Camino del Mayab? A. A perfect beach. B. A hiking and cycling trail. C. A historical site. D. A newly constructed hotel. 6. What is the main purpose of the Camino del Mayab? A. To protect tropical animals. B. To further promote local goods. C. To help improve the lives of locals. D. To attract tourists to Mexico􀆳s beaches. 7. How did the people in Yucatan keep their civilization strong? A. By relying on natural resources. B. By engaging in regional trade. C. By working with large companies. D. By sticking to their way of life. 8. Why does the author write this text? A. To advocate donations. B. To introduce a new attraction. C. To inform a newly-discovered site. D. To call for environmental protection. Ⅱ. 阅读七选五 (2023·江苏百校联考高三年级第三次考试) Before we even realize it􀆳s happening, slowly but surely, we start losing confidence in who we are, what we do, and pretty much everything we ever thought we knew. Simply put you stand straight, take up some space, put one hand on each hip, chin tilted upward, breathe in, and be present. Hold this pose for a few minutes. 3 Our attitudes often follow our behaviors, her research suggests, meaning that assuming the body language of a powerful person can make anyone who does it feel more confident. 4 Losing confidence means you􀆳ve given your power away. And one of the fastest ways to take back your power is to utter a tiny two-letter word: NO. Practice saying “ no” at least once a day. Amazed, I looked at the cars around me, and noticed that everyone􀆳s attention was fixed on the blind couple while no one got mad and none was shouting and yelling. They just waited patiently, without sounding the horn, afraid of scaring the couple. It appeared that all the drivers understood what the couple went through. Never noticing something different, the couple adjusted their route as they followed the coaching. Trusting their white walking stick, they finally made it. As they went across the road, one thing struck me—they were still arm- in-arm. I was surprised at the emotionless expressions on their faces and judged that they had no idea what was really going on around them. Yet I immediately sensed the sights of relief of all the other drivers at that busy crossroads. So, taking a moment to see what is going on around you right now may award you something wonderful. 必修第二册 课时作业 7 CULTURAL HERITAGE Ⅰ. 阅读理解 A 【语篇解读】本文是一篇新闻报道。 文章 主要讲述宋晶在北京中国国家图书馆古籍馆 文献修复组工作并努力成为古籍修复师的 故事。 1.
