2024-2025学年九年级英语全一册单元重难点专题提优训练(人教版) Unit1 任务型阅读专练 阅读表达 (1) As young students, you have many dreams. These dreams can be very big, such as winning the Nobel Prize; they can also be small, such as becoming one of the best students in your class. Once you find a dream, what do you do with it? Do you ever try to make your dream come true? How can you make your dream real? Andrew Matthews, an Australian writer, tells us that making the dreams real is life’s biggest challenge (挑战). You may think you’re not very good at some school subjects, or that it’s impossible for you to become a winner. Those kinds of ideas stop you from realizing (实现) your dream. In fact, everyone can realize his dream. The first thing you must do is to remember what your dream is. Don’t let it leave your heart. Keep telling yourself what you want every day and then your dream will come true faster. You should know that a big dream is, in fact, made up of many small dreams. You must also never give up your dream. There will be difficulties on the road to your dreams, so it’s hard for you to make your dream come true. But the biggest difficulty comes from yourself. You need to decide what to do and what not to do. 根据短文内容,完成下列小题。 1.What is life’s biggest challenge according to Andrew Matthews’s idea? (no more than four words) 2.What is the first thing you must do to make your dream come true? 3.What is a big dream made up of? 4.Why is it hard for you to make your dream come true? 5.What will you do if you want to make your dream come true? (2)) Do you ever feel like you are just rushing from one subject to another? When things happen so fast, maybe you can’t understand clearly what you are doing or learning, so it is important to stop yourself to think about what you have been doing or learning.   Self-reflection(反省)means slowing down and calming yourself, including calming your mind. Some people like to do self-reflection only in their mind. Others keep a diary. What’s more, taking notes is also OK. Each method (方法)works. You can follow the steps to do self-reflection. First, choose the right time to do it. School textbooks are made up of units of study. This makes it easier to begin self-reflection. Look for time when you finish a unit of study. Sometimes you know it’s the time because there is some kind of test. Use these natural breaks to stop and do self-reflection. Then, find a quiet place and take out your reflection diary. Write down some notes on the new things that you learned in the unit. Finally, think about things that you are not sure of. Maybe you learned a new way to work out a maths problem, but you’re not sure when to use it. Writing down your questions will help you remember to look for answers the next time you are working with the same topic. Successful students always know self-reflection is important. If you have never taken the time to do self-reflection, try it now. 6.What is self-reflection? 7.How many steps can we follow to do self-reflection? 8.Why do we need to write down the questions we are not sure of? 9.What do successful students think of self-reflection? 10.What is your own method to do self-reflection?(请自拟一句话作答) (3)     Today lots of people in China can speak English and more and more people are learning this language. Then what do they learn English for? We have done a survey and here are some people’s reasons:     Alice White: I like traveling by myself very much. I’ve been to many places in China, and I plan to travel to some foreign countries. English is the most widely used language in the world, so learning English will do great help to my trips.     Mark Smith: I’m actually not so interested in English. I like Chinese much better. However, I have to learn English. We have to take English exams and the score(分数) of English takes a large part in the total score. Luckily, I’m not doing too badly in it, or I’ll have to struggle(奋斗) with it.     Ben Green: It is necessary to learn English. As you know, the competition in the job market is very fierce(激烈的). If I have a good knowledge of English, I will have a chance of getting a good job.     Kate Lu: It’s interesting, isn’t it? I can get information that others can’t get. I can talk and write letters to interesting people that others can’t communicate with. And I can always make people surprised by speaking good English. 11.What’s the survey they have done about? 12.What’s Alice White’s hobby? 13.Which language does Mark Smith like? 14.What will Ben Green have if he have a good knowledge of English? 15.What does Kate Lu think of learning English? (4) How to Improve Your Reading Skills When you are learning English, listening, speaking and writing are important. But reading can also be very helpful. When you read you not only learn some new words, but also learn how to use them in sentences which are good examples for writing. Here are some suggestions for reading. Try to read something that you can understand. If you need to stop every three words to use a dictionary, it means you still have a long way to go to improve your English. Try to make your vocabulary larger. If there are four or five new words on a page, write them in your notebook. But don’t write them while you are reading. Instead, try to guess their meanings as you read. After you have finished reading, come back to look them up in a dictionary and write them in your own vocabulary book. Then try to remember them. Read what you think is interesting. Choose a book or magazine about a theme that you like, because you are going to spend time and money reading it. You can also read newspapers. There are always popular themes for you to choose. 16.Are listening, speaking and writing important when you are learning English? 17.What do you do when you find new words while reading? 18.What time do you look up the new words? 19.Why do you read newspaper? 20.How many suggestions are mentioned in this passage? 阅读填表 (1) 阅读短文,然后完成内容摘录。每空不超过三个单词。 Our parents are important people in our life. Some students say that they don’t want to read for pleasure. They say they want to use their time to learn the rules of the language and new words. They say that pleasure reading is too easy. Many experts say that pleasure reading is very important for English learners. Dr. Stephen Krashen, a famous expert on learning languages, says that pleasure reading helps you learn many important things about English. ③Students learn more grammar and more words when they read for pleasure. They also learn more about good writing. Dr. Krashen tells us that pleasure reading helps each student in a different way. Each student needs to learn something different. Pleasure reading makes it possible for each student to learn what he or she needs. ④Reading for pleasure is not the same as studying. When you read for pleasure, you choose your own books, and you don’t have to remember everything. There are no tests for your pleasure reading. Pleasure reading will help you: ● learn how English speakers use English ● find examples of good writing in English ● learn about the cultures of English speakers ● read faster in English ● learn new words 根据短文内容,完成下列小题。 6.How can we become better readers? 7.What do some students think of pleasure reading? 8.将短文划线处③译成汉语。 ③ 9.将短文划线处④译成汉语。 ④ 10.给短文拟一个合适的题目。 (3) 通读下面的短文。然后根据短文内容,在空格内填入一个最适当的单词,每空一词。 We live in a world full of many different kinds of people. The following tips may help you find your mistakes before anybody else does. First of all, give it a rest. If time permits (允许), set your composition aside for a few hours after you’ve finished it, and then read it carefully to correct mistakes with fresh eyes. Secondly, look for one type of problem at a time. Read through your composition several times, concentrating first on sentence structures, then word choice, then spelling, and finally punctuation (标点). As the saying goes, if you look for trouble, you’re likely to find it. If you don’t believe in yourself, you can ask a friend for help. Read your composition to him aloud. You can also ask him to read it aloud. You may hear a problem that you haven’t been able to see. Your friend can also help you find some mistakes. Then, try to read your composition backward (倒着). Another way to catch spelling mistakes is to read backward, from right to left, starting with the last word in your composition. Another method some writers usually use is to keep a list of the types of mistakes they commonly make, and then use the list each time they correct their works. Tips for checking a composition Giving it a rest When finishing your composition, you’d better not try to correct mistakes 1 . Reading it carefully after several hours will be more useful. Liu Haoxuan, 14, who studies at Beijing Dayu School, is quite busy. However, he still had to find time to practise his spoken English. That’s because he had to take a new English listening and speaking test. Liu is not alone. This is a new test for all students who are taking senior high school entrance exams (中考) in Beijing. Junior students have to take an English listening and speaking test that counts for 40 points on their full English exam. The test is taken on a computer. They can take the test twice – once in December and again in March – to try to get the highest score possible. The test was just introduced last year. During the 30-minute test, students have to fill in blanks, answer questions and retell stories after listening to different materials. “It pushes us to speak. ________ it was hard at the beginning, it’s a good thing,” Liu said. He got a low score when he first took it last semester (学期). But he kept working hard in order to improve his pronunciation and other skills. He practiced speaking in front of a mirror every day. Later, he got a score of 39 on the test. Liu Tianyou, 14, comes from Beijing Yuying Middle School. He has his own way to prepare for the spoken English test. He uses apps to take practice tests every day. “The apps will score your performance so that you can improve accordingly,” he said. “Also, the practice tests help me learn to take notes properly. They help me grasp topic sentences and connection words.” 6.Why did Liu Haoxuan have to practise his spoken English? 7.How many times can they take the English listening and speaking test? 8.What do the student have to do during the 30-minute test? 9.空白处填入一个合适的连词: _______________________________ 10.将划线句子翻译成汉语: (3) How can you think in English?
